Rebecca was hidden away, under the guise of her loyal servants who hid her away in their home and who kept her hidden from the king and Rebecca's new found enemies. She was grateful to them for hiding her, but even she knew that eventually she would be found. What happened to her when she was found, she did not know, she just hoped that she wasn't found anytime soon. For the time being, she laid on the much smaller bed in the small guest room that her servants had and she sat up and looked out the window, watching the villagers pass along the cobble stoned streets, heading to the market and she sighed softly as she thought about the last few weeks.
How had things gone so wrong? She was just trying to help her husband, the king, who was accused of murder and suddenly, a man she despised managed to get the king onto his side of the court. Now she was hiding away from them, she couldn't risk staying at the castle anymore as they knew where she would be and would come for her there. Meanwhile, here with the servants she was at least safe for a while longer, though, she did not know how much longer she had until she was found.
Suddenly, she heard a commotion and the galloping of horses as the horses came to a stop just a foot from the window she was looking out of. She saw a pair of feet as the men dismounted and she shut the drapes quickly as she stood up, putting a hand over her mouth to block off the scream as she moved quickly towards the closet and stepped inside. She had broken out in a cold sweat and she kept her hand over her mouth as the servants came in, made the bed and shut the closet door, that way it wasn't noticable. She heard the horses prancing nervously, their hooves pounding against the cobblestones, almost matching the pounding of her own heart as she stayed in the closet, listening to the sounds of the servants and to any other sounds to alert her of any threats to her safety or any exposure to her safe spot, her hide away.
