My Brother's Best Friend [Yuan and ShortSighted]

Joined
Dec 20, 2009
The time had come. Her brother James was throwing a party been as their parents were away and he wanted to in with the 'cool' kids and to do this you had to have a house party. He was naturally popular anyway and didn't need to have the party, but he was the only one that seemed to have not hosted one. The only hesitation he had about it was that Mandy, his kid sister was going to be around, though he hoped to have her occupied by letting her invite her best friend Katie. He just hoped the college guys would be too interested in the college girls.

The theme was a beach party and because it was the middle of summer the weather was hot enough. They had a pool in the back yard to so it meant that they had water and that everyone could come dressed in beach wear without looking ridiculous. Shaking her head Mandy stared at all the alcohol that was piled up in the kitchen. The place was full of booze and Mandy prayed that James knew what he was doing and wasn't going to destroy the house.

Finally Katie arrived and they headed upstairs to her room to discuss what they were going to wear. Mandy was the quiet girl where as Katie loved a good party and she loved the fact that college guys were going to be there. Mandy had hesitated at first but decided that Katie wouldn't do anything stupid, or so she hoped. After a lot of debating, Katie had put on a red hot bikini and had made Mandy get into her black bikini. Both girls then put on miniskirts and flipflops to fit in with the party.

They could already hear the music and people talking now and with no other thought Katie grabbed Mandy's hand and pulled her out of her room and down the stairs.

"Come on, let's party." She grinned.

  • "Pig."

    "Fatty."

    "Four eyes."

Those were the names that haunted Roy's name through out all of his childhood and high school, only his best friend James and his little sister Mandy called him by his name. No one bothered to look beneath his ugly acne face or through the thick skin of fat that surrounded his body. He was always the quiet one in the class, sitting in a corner by himself unless he happened to have his friend James in the same class only then would he actually speak during class. His natural personality was quite active and friendly but the verbal abuse made him into a quiet one.

He knew Mandy and James since they were little, James was like his brother but Mandy....She was different, she was much more to him. He had a crush on her ever since the first time he's seen her visiting James' house. He wanted to tell her how much he liked her but he knew he was just not good enough, not to mention Blake who was an athletic boy who kept making the moves on her...ever since middle school 'till now. Roy was the VIP victim of Blake's and that always made Roy timid around Blake...not to mention he lacked the confidence in himself to stand up to him.

One day, he decided to change. He was laying around in bed, just looking up at the dark ceiling when something hit him. He never had gone to a prom, or a party or many of the normal things a kid his age would do. He soon figured out it was because of his unattractive appearance and he became determined to change himself, change himself worthy of confessing his feelings for Mandy. This was in the summer after the graduation of high school and just 3 months away from College.

He had not seen Mandy or James ever since, he was out of the country back where his Parents had came from. Korea, he was there living in a Buddhist temple eating nothing but vegetables with daily exercises. It had changed him, made his bulky fat figure into a lean muscular one. His acne skin into a smooth baby skin, and he got rid of his glasses and put on contacts. He flew back, satisfied of his change and having the slight confidence that he was ready for Mandy.

The day he arrived was the day of the party, he had text messaged James on arrival and got an immediate invitation. Which was rare, or probably would have never happened if James was not hosting it. He nodded to himself, this was the perfect time to change and a perfect opportunity. He went to the local clothing store and grabbed a beach shorts and a button up shirt with a pair of flip flops. He was set for the party and to face Mandy, to show him the new him and to finally propose his feelings.

He had arrived at James' home, and he was already getting the stare from the girls but this time it was in a more hospitable way. They were interested, his black hair were trimmed calmly while his button up shirt was just let open showing his rock solid looking abs and chest keeping in a sharp form. His body made it possible for just for shorts and a shirt to look good. He entered the house, spotting James he quickly gave a mildly strong pat on his shoulder with a smile.

    "James."[/list:u]

James turned around when he heard his best friend's voice. He hadn't seen him in forever and couldn't wait to now. When he turned around though he was surprised. It took him a minute to register that it was Roy in front of him.

"Wow... Roy..." He grinned. "You're looking awesome. How are you? I'm so glad you're back for this party." He told him.

Boy had Roy changed surprisingly. It was a complete shock to James and he still didn't quite know what to say as he took in his best friends appearance. It was amazing how one person could change, but James was happy for Roy, really happy for him. James now grinned at the thought of having his run for his money with the chicks. It looked like a competition could start between the boys. Though, he had no idea that Roy had eyes for Amanda.

James was relatively good looking. He had brown hair that was a moppy mess on top of his head and stood at 6'0 and quite muscular as he liked to work out. He loved the attention he got from the girls and always reveled himself in it, letting the girls come to him. He was a bit of a player and wasn't afraid to admit this to the guys, to the girls though he made himself the charming, caring guy.

"Katie..." Mandy started moving her long red hair out of her face as they headed down the stairs. "I'm not sure about this bikini." She started.

"You look fine." Katie answered, continuing to drag her friend.

Mandy was very self conscious of how she looked and only Katie knew this. Mandy was the reserved girl and dressed conservatively. She had long red hair, green eyes, and had a meat to her bones. She wasn't fat, but wasn't stick thin either giving her a healthy look and something for a guy to grab onto. She was a lot smaller than her brother and looked opposite to him really, following her mothers looks, at 5'4. Now she was uncovered for the world to see. Suddenly she was pulled again as Katie's eye caught a guy that she liked the look of. Mandy sighed and shook her head. She couldn't believe Katie. She loved the attention of guys and wanted to pull at this party. She wanted to get with a college guy and Mandy had a feeling that she would be back in her room by the end of the night. She wasn't going to complain about it though. That was Katie.

"Oh he's a looker." She grinned.

"Who?" Mandy asked.

"Him." Katie pointed to a guy talking to her brother and Mandy couldn't believe her eyes.

"Wow... Roy?" She questioned just standing there amazed at the transformation. She had always liked him, but never had the confidence to say anything and now he looked hot and she couldn't believe her eyes. It had been a while since she last saw him and though he had changed drastically she still recognised him. It took her a minute or so for it to sink in. It really was Roy.

  • Roy smiled a bit confidently however, his eyes were a bit timid and if someone was to stare at him in the eyes he would most likely look away. He nodded at James, he was looking good as ever and probably still popular. Roy was standing at 6'2" he was always quite tall, just nobody saw him in a tall fashion due to him being tall horizontally as well.

"I'm good, I'm a bit tired from the 13 hour flight but I'll survive..."

He then looked around a bit before quietly asking.

    "W-Where's Mandy?"

His cheek blushed lightly, not able to tell in the house with the dimmed lights due to people crowding everywhere. He was curious and wanted to see her really badly, but he kind of thought he needed alcohol to easy his mind. Get his mind a bit numb to say it, completely forgetting that before he could only drink a bottle of beer and he'd be knocked out. Now that he is less in volume he'd be knocked out with just half the bottle of it. He walked over to the beer pile, grabbing one and opening it before chugging it down the cold liquid.

He turned on his heels and saw Mandy in a black bikini and immediately his cheeks turned red, if it was from the booze or Mandy...only Roy would know but it had been a while since he saw Mandy and now that he's seen her in such a long time he realized again how much he really liked her. He made baby steps towards Mandy, cutting through the crowds and standing in front of her.

    "H-Hey, Mandy...You look really great."

He spoke quietly, almost silent due to the large music playing in the background. But he did not mind, he was just happy that he was within touching distance of her and that she was still looking beautiful as ever. However, his mind started to cloud as the alcohol was working its magic a bit. Soon after his voice would start to slur and probably be thrown off balance of his feet.[/list:u]

Mandy just stood there in complete shock as Roy approached the girls. Katie seemed to sense things immediately and grinned, shaking her head. So much for wanting the hottest guy of the night, she thought to herself. Mandy's got this one if she doesn't screw it up.

"Just be confident and smile a lot and be more sexy and flirty." Katie whispered causing the girl to blush.

"Hey, Roy. You're looking good." She told him.

Katie smiled, nudging Mandy a little.

"This is my friend Katie." She quickly added.

Katie grinned at Roy and just nodded, watching the pair. Maybe it was best to leave them alone to have their fun or whatever it is Mandy would end up doing. She was too sensible to do anything drastic and didn't have the confidence to do anything anyway.

"I'm going to get myself a drink." Katie told them, deciding that she wouldn't return and just pretend to get herself distracted. Looking back at Mandy she winked at the girl. Mandy blushed again realising that Katie had figured out she had a crush on the guy. She didn't realise that she'd also seen how Roy was looking at her.

"How are you?" She finally asked. "It's been a while since I last saw you." She added.

  • Roy gave Katie a nod when Mandy introduced her to him, but his mind was all on Mandy and probably will be for a while. He was still taking in how much he had missed her and he hadn't realized this until he had just seen her.

"I'm good, been out of the country but I'm back now."

He gave a smile before setting aside the half empty beer and looking left and right. He was being hit left and right by drunk guys walking by and it was starting to irk him.

"Hey, would you like to go up? It is a bit loud."

He asked a bit nervously, he had actually never talked to her with just her. It was always with James or with bunch of their friends and him in the back. However, this time he grew the courage to ask her straight up and hoped she accepted his offer. He felt right, right enough that he was feeling able to propose to her his feelings and ask her out on a date. If everything went according to his plan, he would have Mandy in his arms.[/list:u]

Mandy was aware of some of the guys checking her out and tried to cover herself a little by crossing her arms over her stomach as she looked back at Roy. When he suggested they go upstairs and talk Mandy couldn't have been happier. She just wanted to get out of the way of the drunk guys and hopefully cover herself up a little more.

"Yea sure. My room will be cool and it's quieter there." She told Roy, turning around and starting up the stairs. Once she was in her room she breathed a sigh of relief, holding the door open for him to enter and then shutting it once he was inside.

"It's so much better up here." She stated.

"I'm just going to grab a tshirt." She commented, heading to her cupboard. "So, how was the trip? Good? You look so different and amazing." She smiled, trying not to get into an awkward silence with Roy.

  • Roy smiled when she took his offer and he walked upstairs with her, he could hear bunch of the guys clicking their tongues as if Roy had scored her before them. When he was just going up there to have a chat with her and it also bothered him that other guys were allowed to see her skin, it irked him. Roy smiled at her question and felt a bit proud of what he did to himself.

"Yeah, I've exercised and controlled what I ate."

He said smiling and sat down on her bed, watching her put a t-shirt on. He would have preferred to look at her with bikinis a bit more but he wasn't going to speak his mind. He didn't like other men looking at her like that, he didn't mind himself looking at them. A bit selfish of him but what can he say? It was not a common sight to see Mandy in bikinis.

"You look really good in those bikinis Mandy, it is nice."

He spoke shyly and scratched the back of his head, looking down on the floor a bit. Wondering how he should start this, he wanted to confess his love but he didn't know when or how and it was making him nervous as he was looking for a chance to say something.[/list:u]

Mandy blushed as he commented about her in bikinis. "Thanks." She commented, trying to look away for a little while longer in hopes that the red cheeks would disappear. That wasn't going to happen and Mandy didn't want to appear rude and looked at Roy again before coming to sit down on the bed with him.

"So, now that it's quiet what did you want to talk about?" She asked him.

She was nervous herself. She had no idea what to do or say herself and she liked Roy so much that she didn't want to make an idiot of herself.

"I....I wanted to tell you this for the past 15 years...."

He gulped, looking towards Mandy and grabbing her shoulders with his hands. He looked dead straight in her eyes.

"I....I lo--"

Just as he was about to say it a drunk couple opened the door and peaked inside, the male saying.

"Awww, it is already taken...Let's check out another room babe.."

Then they just went away, which gave the frozen Roy a chance to break from the ice. He was now feeling even more nervous, so he decided to stop. Maybe today was not the best time to say this. Maybe he should say it at a more fancy place after buying her a meal.

"It is nothing..."

He smiled weakly and released her shoulders, blushing as he looked down on the floor.

Mandy wondered what Roy had to say. 15 years was a long time. It had to be important and she was slightly worried now over what it was. Shaking her head she looked back as a drunk couple were trying to find a room. No way was anyone going to have sex in her house. No way. Well the only problem now was that Mandy didn't want to potentially go find them and walk in on something disgusting. Turning back to Roy she smiled.

"Come on, you can tell me." She told him. "What have you wanted to tell me?"

Mandy vaguely wondered what he might have wanted to tell her because she'd have only been young then. It had to be serious though because he had a serious look in his eye and she thought he looked slightly worried to.

Roy took a deep breath, her gentle smile always made his heart skip a beat. He decided to be brave then he lost his consciousness from the beer, of course the beer now it kicks in. He had lost his consciousness yet he was still up and moving, his sane consciousness was gone but now it was his drunk side. The one that was not afraid to speak his mind and act.

"The thing is Mandy, I love you."

He finally blurted it out, with his will or not the secret was out and there was no turning back now.

"I loved you for the last 15 years, and I only did this. The change I had went through was all for you, so I would be more fitting, more worthy to date you."

He held her shoulders once more, looking her dead in the eyes and hugging her in his arms as tightly as he possibly could. His chest was still open, nothing stood between his bare chest and abs with her face coming in contact. But he went ahead and hugged her anyways.

Mandy was more than shocked when she heard what he said. He loved her? He actually loved her? Was he serious? Please tell me he's serious, she thought as she looked into his eyes. His face had seriousness written all over it but Mandy was confused. He didn't have to change just for her. She'd liked him the way he was before the change.

He pulled her into a hug and she hugged him back. She was afraid that it was a dream or a joke that was been played. She didn't know what to do or if it was worth admitting her feelings. In the end she took a deep breath.

"I've liked you for a while to." She told him. "At least a few years."

There. The truth was out and either he was drunker than he looked and it wasn't meant like that, or he was serious. Mandy just hoped it was the latter.

Oh what had he done, he had confessed his love but not only that she was in his arms. But when she gave him a hug also, he was surrounded with joy and when she confessed that he liked her as well. He almost exploded and yelled out loud, then the question hit him.

"...Why? I was so worthless compared to you...why did you like me?"

He was really curious, he thought Mandy would only think of him as a friend she had known for a long time nothing more. But now she says she had loved him as well, it was all very happy and almost too good to be true. His mind was now awake, yes he had lost his consciousness but it just came back from her confession and now he was so overwhelmed with joy that he didn't know what to do but to lean down. His lips slowly approached hers into a kiss, it would be a gentle one just their lips barely touching and that would be enough to give him a near heart attack.

Mandy thought about her answer.

"It wasn't about looks. It was about personality. You were a great person and I enjoyed spending time with you. You were you and that was nice." She told him.

When he lent down to kiss her, Mandy nearly had her own heart attack. This was her first kiss. James was so protective that he'd stopped any interaction with boys. She felt his lips kiss hers, touching them lightly and it was like Mandy had died and gone to heaven. Finally when they pulled away from each other Mandy was silent from shock. She'd just kissed Roy, James best friend.

He was happy about Mandy's answer, just as he remembered her. She just liked him the way he was, but he went ahead and changed for her anyways because he loved her. And he didn't want her to suffer because of his bad looks, now it was not a problem.

"...I..I'm sorry if I'm moving too fast...it is just that I waited so long...for this moment."

He said as if he was going to pull away, instead he kissed her once more this time it was more like the movies. His lips continuously kissing hers as his tongue gently giving hers a tag as his hands caressed down her neck. His body was close to hers as his hand lingered around her back and side, hugging her closer to him as he kissed her more passionately.

Mandy didn't say anything as he kissed her again. She didn't really know what to do or say. She was just happy that she had Roy in her arms and that he was kissing her. She closed her eyes as he gave her a full on passionate kiss and felt his tongue with hers. He held her close to him and the moment was absolutely magical to her. She'd never felt anything like this before and glad that she got to feel it with Roy.

"Wow..." She muttered when the kissing finally stopped.

He smiled a bit calm, having her in his arms and kissing her made him feel less nervous and more secure that now she was his girlfriend and could say it proudly. He gently caressed down the back of her head, stroking down gently. However, not too long before there was a loud moaning and a wall banging noise. Obviously things weren't as romantic as here than in the other room. He blushed a bit, not being able to control the bulk that grew inside his pants which happened to poke at Mandy.

"I...."

He blushed and backed away a bit then turned around when he saw there was a large tent made on his pants. He wanted to smack himself so hard for not being able to control it...but what can he do he was still a virgin.

Mandy blushed as she realised what was going on and pulled away herself slightly. She was also a virgin and wasn't sure if she was ready to lose something so important to her. She could hear the noises next door and felt awkward slightly. She wasn't even sure if her and Roy were now dating.

"It's okay. Don't apologise." She told him. "I have no idea what I'm doing unfortunately."

"We'll just let it happen....first time for both of us.."

He smiled a bit, calming down a bit and turning back around. The noise from the walls were getting louder, and a loud scream was heard as if the girl was having an orgasm...which she was. His face blushed a bit more but he got brave, holding her hand and sitting down on the bed and pulling her down to sit as well.

"We..are dating right? I would really love it if I would be your boyfriend."

He blushed a bit, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her close to his chest as he rested his head against hers. It was finally quiet (other than the loud music) with just two of them being able to relax.
