Adam was excited for today. Today was opening day for San Diego Comic Con, the biggest gathering of gaming, anime, comics, and nerd culture of the year. It was like a pilgrimmage toall who called themselves gamers, otaku's, and comic fans. He had two three day passes that were given to him as a gift. Was there a special girl or best friend that would be making the trek with him. No. Surprisingly, it was his mother who would be going with him. She had been going with him to conventions with him ever since last years Comic Con, he didn't know what suddenly spurred her interest but he was glad that she did. She even cospalyed with him last year, which was an even bigger shock to him, and much to the discomfort of his father. He tried to ignore the grim looks he gave the pair whenever they left for a convention, but they were becoming much of a frequent occurence. Even so, today could not be dampered, he had pulled out all the stops for this year. He had a costume lined up for every day of the convention, and today was his best and most favorite out of the trio.
When it was time to get ready he told his mother and rushed over to his closet and dresser in his room. He opened the closet and pulled out the protective bag he kept over the costume and layed it on his bed. He bent over to his dresser and opened up his pants drawer to pull out a loose fitting pair of darkwashed jeans. He put them on and went over to the bed and opened the bag to reveal the white and navy jacket. Inside the jacket were the hide ridding chaps he bought custom made, the white shirt, the red sash, the weapons holsters, gauntlets, and the leather belt. He was going as Ratonhnhaké:ton, better known as Connor, from the hit game Assassin's Creed III. He put on the white shirt, followed by the hide chaps, and wrapped the red sash around his waist, finishing it with pulling the belt around and clasping it together with the Assassin Brotherhood symbol. The rest was easy after that, just the jacket follwed by the leather weapon holsters over his shoulders and sides. After having everything in place he moved to his nightstand and opened a wooden box to reveal the best part of the coustume. He gently lifted the leather gauntlets out of the box and pulled them on, the leather fitting snuggly around his forearms. He flexed his wrists out and out popped the blades, made out of painted polypropylene and blunted so to not cause trouble with security. He relaxed wrists and the blades retracted. His friends Jason and Tim helped him with the design. They were both Assassin's Creed fanatics and had been working on designs since the game came out. The trick was not getting them to come out, that was simple as some springs, but to get them to go back. It was a wheel at the bottom of the mechanism, it would wind the springs back up and pull the blade back in and hold it there until he flexed his wrists. To avoid accidental release they all placed the release button where a nerve that would only extend when his wrists fully flexed. The left one was erven more special as it used Connor's signature kinfe blade. The blade could extend as the right one did, but his index and middle fingers could hit the side of the blade and the blade would swivle on a hinge out so he could hold it like a knife.
He remembered that the tommahawk he made was still in the garage and he rushed down to the garage while telling his mom they needed to go soon. He couldn't wait to see her in her Bayonetta costume.
