Sayomi took her time as she walked along the cobble stone path. Her precious knife sheathed in a specially made holster as a single vein traveled down to the tip. That same vein glowing bright red. Her two only friends lived within that blade. Tien and Kiyo.
Two others had came to her as a child and raised her, simple spirits took on this human infant as their own. Teaching her abilities to use in battle and the like. Then they disappeared, leaving her a blade shoved into the ground on the rim of a volcano. The blistering heat around the knife being much too hot for any normal human to climb and get. But Sayomi wasn't normal, was she?
So the child climbed. Being only 12 the journey was rough and very hard to handle. Losing her footing on the scolding hot rocks left her with plenty of deep burn marks all over her body.
She finally made it though. Two minutes before midnight, two minutes before her thirteenth birthday. Burned and exhausted she saw the amazingly crafted blade. The volcano behind it spouting amber colored lava into the air and letting it fall back down into the giant pool it came from. The whole sight was incredible and Sayomi knew that she was much too close to give up. Clawing her way up the volcano till she grasped the hilt in her hand. Retracting quickly as she felt how hot it was, the flesh on her hand burning away. Was she not supposed to be able to take this gift?
No. This was the final test. With a low growl she gripped the hilt again and yanked. Trying her hardest not to scream at the intense pain. Then...a soft metal peeling from ground broke the air. She had done it.
She had pulled it out. The heat radiating off it was gone. It feel cold now. A pleasureful feeling that her hand appreciated greatly.
In all her celebration she didn't even notice that two new yet smaller spirits were zooming around her body. Their bodies made of flame. They repeatedly brushed up against Sayomi but no pain was felt. Nothing.
This blade...had given her the immunity to fire and heat. An unbelievable ability.
After that the child started to travel, her fame growing as she did till she became world renown and everyone knew her. And that lead her to being here. Invited to come to this secret heaven. The House of Red Fireflies.
It was an honor to come here, even more so since Sayomi was only 21. Probably the youngest deadly warrior out there. The raven haired girl was proud to walk this path to paradise. She had earn this......,right?
