A kitsune was many things, though usually not kind. It held true for most fully grown once at least as Kitsune's often seen as both devil or half god, where often the source of Mischief and strange legends of Love.
Few really knew what a Kitsune really was, but all knew that they had powers capable of granting simple wishes. No wish came for free however as a Kitsune always demanded a price.
In one case, where a young man nearly lost his wife to a fever, he summoned a Kitsune to help his wife recover, a simple deed for a Kitsune, yet one that was to come at a high price.
The kitsune seduced the man to spend a night with him, and to give the first thing he found when he returned home to her.
The deal was struck, and the wife returned to good health, though the first thing the young man would encounter, was his son, a part of his that he dared not to give to the Kitsune.
Once again he would call the Kitsune forth, and this time with another offer for her. He described his hesitation to part of his son and tricked the creature to a bet, offering her himself in addition to his son if he should loose.
Charmed as she was by his false intentions, the Kitsune agreed, and should she loose, she would part of her daughter.
The young man went and gave the Kitsune a riddle she could not know, for in all her pride she did not see the simple thing the man saw in her, and so, after various attempts, the creature had to admit defeat and, true to her word, part from her youngest daughter.
A strange tale, but the very one how Miriam had come to be living amongst humans, so often to hide in the guise of an animal, or to simply hide ears and tails that betrayed her true heritage.
She did not hide it from all though as she had come to love the young man's son, so much, when he pressured her to share the bed with him, she gladly did, hoping for him to share life with her. Though all it did was for her to loose most of the powers of a Kitsune, powers she did not even know of yet, all to be with the boy she loved.
Yet, no matter how hard she tried, he did not return her love the same way she did, though everytime he took her to bed again, she hoped that this time he would see her different and finally love her, even though, in the end she was blindly holding onto her hope and dream of true love, even if in the end, she only turned herself into a private slave for him without realizing it.
