Today had been an long one, it had started with the paper work set in motion by Kyle a tall man, and single father. who had long missed the touch of a woman in his home. His son Devin had spent the majority of this day waiting, and meeting with the girl that would soon be his sister. Devin was young only 16, but still a little older then the girl they wished to adopt. Plans had been in the works for a while meeting her and having her become familiar with her was the first step, and today saw the completion of the last step.

Kyle swept some black hair from his face as he smiled his green eyes reflecting the light as he signed the last piece of paper work to finally have a daughter. "Is that everything?" he asked the woman behind the counter of the agency.

Devin had stayed outside. He leaned over a railing looking at the girl they had spent months trying to adopt, and gave her a soft smile. "How are you feeling about all this?" He asked quietly. His eyes were of his mothers a soft blue, but he had his fathers black hair, and defined face. today was the start of a new chapter in their family.

"A little nervous," Catherine admitted, but quickly added, "but good. I like you and your dad." She told him. And it was the truth, at first she'd been afraid to like them too much. It's not often that a teenager was adopted, usually because most wanted to adopt babies or toddlers, teens like her stayed in the system until they were eighteen. Just bounced around from foster family to foster family until eighteen and then they were left to fend for themselves.

She liked Devin's smile, and smiled back at him. He was handsome too, she never saw eyes blue eyes as nice as his. A girl could get lost in them if she wasn't careful. But she reminded herself that she should not be crushing on him, because he was going to be her older brother. And crushing on your brother wasn't right.

"How do you feel about all this, Devin? You really okay with me being your sister?" She asked him worriedly, thinking maybe secretly he didn't like the idea and was just going along with it because of his dad.

Devin gave his new sister a pat on the head as he gave her a kind smile. "I think it will be great to have you around. I am sure that we will become rather close." He spoke quietly and affectionately as he looked at Amanda. He liked her, and had actually been the one to ask if they could fully adopt Amanda instead of letting her go off too another home.

Kyle gave a small smile as he exited the office. He walked up to his two children and placed a hand on Amanda's shoulders. He gave them a small nod. "It's done your part of the family now." He said giving her a small hug. "I hope you will be happy with us."

(ooc: sorry, looking at an old pm I realized that in the post here I gave her the wrong name. Also can't believe I forgot to describe her in my last post. :( )

Catherine was just fourteen, not old for a teen, but still she had worried that no one would want to adopt her. And then Devin and his father Kyle come into her life and they seemed really cool. Very nice and friendly and the redhead had worried that they wouldn't like her enough to adopt her.

Her and Devin had been waiting outside, him leaning against the railing as she sat on the steps and looked up at him and smiled, though she wished he wouldn't pat her on the head like that because it made her feel like a little kid. She was wearing a yellow dress that came down to just above her knees, sandals. She always tried to look her best for their visits. Her long red hair was pinned back with a flower hair barrette.

She stood up when she heard the office door open, looked at Kyle hopefully as he placed a hand on her shoulder. When he gave them a small nod, she looked relieved, and returned his small hug, smiling.

When he told her that he hoped she would be happy with them, she replied, "I know I will be.. Dad." The last word she'd said more softly as if she wasn't sure if she should yet, though he did just say that she was part of the family now.
