Asiya blinked a few times in rapid succession and tilted her head to the side in silent contemplation as she stared into the darkness that was the Black Forest. She'd been here at Taunton Academy for awhile and had not yet ventured in here for you were strongly advised against it, then again you were strongly advised against most things. Looking over her shoulder she frowned slightly and furrowed her brows, was it her imagination or did something just dart behind a tree? Shaking her head in disgust she tossed the ludicrous idea from her mind. Ever since she'd gotten here she'd had moments of hallucinations; feeling things watching her and it was starting to annoy the hell out of her. "
No good, no good" she said trailing off and sighing lightly. Taking a deep breath she stretched herself until she heard a series of "cracks" and "pops" along her spine and shoulders. With a small little sigh and a little glance over her shoulder she ventured into the forest. Sticking her tongue out she licked her lips and glanced around the gloom of the forest unable to stop herself from trying to see if anyone was following her "
No ones following you, you ninny. What would be the point? Everyone here is strange or odd, here you're just a normal girl." She thought trying to keep from feeling too idiotic. Though the fact she was talking to a voice in her head shot down that feeling pretty quickly.
She hadn't been walking very long when she began to get the uncomfortable feeling that she wasn't alone. The farther in she walked the darker and more dense it became, shadows moved and began taking shape twigs cracked and leaves rustled and the whole of the forest seemed to move and follow her. Turning her head from side to side she blinked and shivered as that familiar feeling of being "watched" grew stronger, she laughed nervously trying to shake the unwanted feeling. She knew though, that trying to get rid of that feeling was a wasted effort. It grew stronger and stronger with every step she took into the crawling darkness, it slithered up her spine and gripped her heart and she felt a sudden panic attack start to consume her.
Stopping she closed her eyes and took a deep breath counting to ten. "
Theres nothing there, its all in my head...all in my head" she whispered to herself. Shaking her head she slowly opened her eyes and had to stifle a scream when somewhere she heard a twig snap, the sound echoing in the silence of the forest. "
Must've been a lizard...." She thought. She couldn't stop from straining her ears to listen for any sounds but instead all she was met with was silence. "
There arnt even any birds..." she murmured furrowing her brows. She glanced around herself and realized that the scenery had changed, it had taken on a far more darker appearance.
Blinking she furrowed her eyebrows, was this real? Or was it another hallucination? She could never tell but the creeping darkness was starting to get the better of her and she started backing out slowly but instead of an opening her back came up against a tree, gulping she slowly turned her head and looked behind her. The clearing and pathway had been completely swallowed up by the forest. She looked around her panicked, the forest was moving in to try and consume her. Falling down she began to shake "
It's not real, it's not real, it can't be real. Forests don't morph, they don't move, it's all a lie a lie." She thought tears forming in her eyes. In her state of panic she had completely forgotten she had the ability to fly; all she could think about was she would probably die out here...alone and no one would even notice she was gone. Her line of thinking wasn't helping her state of mind but, it was like a mantra going over and over in her head. Bringing her knees up to her chest she grabbed her head with her hands and began rocking muttering incoherently to herself. She just wanted the images to go away she didn't care if they were a hallucination or not they were real enough to her and she wanted them to just leave her alone.
The voices came for her again murmuring things in her ears telling her things she already knew but, didn't want to accept. They laughed mockingly at her, figures began dancing around her shaking body they laughed and laughed and their laughing was driving her completely mad. Clenching her fist she threw her head back "
Stop, please just STOP. Go away leave me ALONE." She screamed, all the fear devouring her heart slowly faded away. The world around her began melting replaced by the natural forest and blinking she looked around and lo and behold! Behind her was the path way she had taken. A sly smile began tugging at the corners of her mouth and she stood up brushing herself off and instead of turning back, she continued to explore the forest. The previous little scene that had taken place just moments before gone from her mind like it had never happened and perhaps....it really hadn't.
