God, headache waking up, headache all through classes, now a headache so bad, just the thought of walking seemed an unsurmountable feat. She sat under a large oak tree near the library and held her head. She had taken a Tylenol with water at lunch, but nothing worked. She groaned leaning forward. She held her head between her hands. Her red hair falling in a curtain around her face. Hazel eyes closed in pain. Feeling something tickle her nose, she raised her hands to her nose and it came away bloody.
Looking up, she saw students in obvious states of decomposition walking with perfectly normal students. Leaping to her feet, she swallowed hard. Lightning bolt pain shot through her head. Holding her head, she gripped the tree for support, but instead she touched a kid that was hanging by a limb. Swallowing, she looked around in a panic. A wail raising from her throat. No...no this couldn't be happening.
Taking off, she ran full tilt to her dorm and gasped and collapsed on her bed. The whole room was spinning. Gripping a trash can that stood by her desk, she hurled all the contents of her stomach into it. Along with some blood that had somehow found its way to her stomach. Shivering and gripping the can, she groaned and rocked back and forth. She was wearing a simple dark blue blouse with blue jeans and shoes. She was pretty unextraordinary, and expected to live an unextraordinary life. What was happening to her?
Rowan, Red to her friends, rocked back and forth alone on her bed and put the trash can on the floor and curled up. Her head was killing her more than before. She panted, sweat rolled down her face as she shivered harder.
