Rain….
Looking up at the dark gloomy sky that poured copious amount of water down on her, Leize twitched her whiskers, the brown little alleycat, hoping up on an empty dustbin to peer inside and see if the owners of the house beside her had placed anything worth salvaging out as trash.
Clawing her paws through the rubbish, she wrinkled her nose a bit at the smell, her whiskers twitching once more, but otherwise showing no real signs of distress. She hadn’t eaten for a few days now, having opted to hole away in her favourite hiding spot, she’d intended to come out when the rain stopped, but had finally given in when she realized that the rain showed no signs of ending soon. Unfortunately for her, she’d come out of hiding a bit too late, and most of the good eating spots had already been scrapped bare by other animals. And food she could find had usually already gone beyond edible. Furthermore the dampness in the air didn’t help her sense out her food like she usually did. She considered hunting around for a mouse briefly, but quickly dismissed the thought, it’d be hard to find them, and she wasn’t confident she had the stamina to find one in her current state.
Hopping off the trash can and casually walking down the middle of the alley, she made her way towards the main street, hoping to find something more fruitful in the next alley. The mere thought of food egging her on and causing her to pick up her pace. She’d been so preoccupied by her thoughts that she didn’t notice the approaching human boy until it was too late. Jumping infront of him and slapping her tail against his face mid prance, as she tried to avoid Regis’s feet.
Hearing the boy fall, she was about to make her escape when she noticed that the boy had dropped something, the though causing her to stop in her tracks, and make her way over to the fallen back, sifting through the contents in hopes of finding at least something that’d sate her hunger.
