Welcome to the 50’s
Mark was tall 6 foot 5. He had chestnut brown hair that he wore short most of the time. He body was muscled from his Daily workouts and the wrestling team. He also had piercing blue eyes. His mother was Irish and his dad was English. He was raised catholic.
When he had herd that pearl harbor had been bombed he joined the army as soon as he could. He was 18 at the time. He did very well in boot camp and was drafted into Patton’s first armored division. He fought in North Africa, France and Germany at the end of the war. He even won a medal of honor saving 10 of his friends when a jerry started shooting a hitters buzz saw in a field. Mark though a grenade and knocked the guy out. One time in Germany he saw a group of tanks that were all driven by colored men. And they were damn good at it too. one of them took out a group of ss solders that would have killed him all. That when he started to think everything he had learned about coloreds in school was wrong. He wouldn’t tell anyone back home that though.
When he got home his G.I. bill prayed for school. He went to University of Michigan with a major in pre law and a minor in history. Then he went to Judah P. Benjamin School of law for his law degree. He got a job at a law firm in town shortly after that. But he was 28 now many of his family members asked him why he wasn’t marred. He never found the right girl. His younger brother who was only 24 was married. Mark didn’t think much about it. Then at his work charismas party his boss introduced him to(place name here). Within one night she had bewitched him mind body and soul. After two months of dating her he started looking for wedding rings and he bought a nice apartment in new york city. He proposed to her on her birthday January 3 1951. She was 21 He was 28. She said, ”yes.” He couldn’t wait to share a bed together. But she was a good chaotic girl he would have to wait for their wedding night. It would be worth the wait.
Mark said, “with this ring I thee wed.” he put his ring around his beloveds finger. She did the same back. They kissed and they were married their lives forever bonded. Their wedding was quite nice they had a very good band play. Many were not happy that it was a colored band. Mark never cared much for color anyway though. People are people they come good and bad in every color. (place name here) was a fabulist dancer mark got better the longer he was with her but she still danced cercals around him.
