Physically she could've been mistaken for a teenager for quite some time, but now she could truly be declared as such. The girl was on her way home from school, wondering what kind of surprises would await her. Her parents always ended up throwing a party when she got back, and she was hoping today would be no exception.
The buildings were becoming fewer and further between as Teri continued walking, her family's home somewhat outside of the town itself, resulting in a relatively long walk home, meaning it was past 4 before she could finally see her house at the end of the street, grinning and increasing her pace somewhat. Oh god it would be good to get home at last. She had begged her parents that morning to let her skip a day of school because it was her birthday, but they had insisted. Bah, that just meant they'd have to make this party extra great.
With a huge grin, Teri got to the front door, opening it up and stepping inside quickly. "I'm home!" As usual, the hallway was empty, on her birthday that usually meant there was a party ready and waiting for her in the living room. Her mother, father and her brothers would all be there waiting for her. Teri could hardly contain her excitement as she hurried to the door, gripping the handle and waiting for a moment, trying to calm herself down so she could act surprised, then stepped into the living room slowly.
