Anastas marches proudly through the village streets with the royal army after retuning home from a triumphant victory. She smiles widely but not because of the easily won battle. It was because she gets to return to the beautiful princess. She was a thing of pure class and elegance. Anastas thanks the lord every day that she gets near her. It was unheard of a woman having desire for another then. But then again, so was a female knight.
 
AshlynSmiled softly as the messenger made his leave.She had Heard about the woman who was to become her guardian,A Valiant knight who had more then proven herself on the battle field and brought great honor to herself and her country.She knew that Anastas would be offered the opportunity to become her guardian,She was a little nervous though,What would she be like?
 
The army made their way back to the castle. The commander gave his report and the king told then to go about their day. They've earned it. Anastas was told about her next job and she couldn't believe it. She was to be the beautiful princess Ashlyn's new bodyguard. She was led to her room to be formally introduced. The escort knocked "M' lady, your new bodyguard is here"
 
Ashlyn looked up from her book,hearing a soft knock at her door."Please enter."She said softly and smiled as she watched the door open and her new guardian enter the room behind her escort.She listened to the escort as she introduced the knight to Ashlyn and then she nodded as she sat her book down."Its a great pleasure and an honor to be protected by such a brave and skilled Knight."She said in her soft voice.
 
Anastas heart pounded then skipped a beat when she laid eyes on her goddess. She was more beautiful up close. She kneeled down and bowed with great respect. "The honor is all mine princess" she said "We knights of the royal army are willing to give our lives for the protection of the royal family" she said as she looked up and stared deeply onto the princess' eyes.
 
Ashlyn smiled sweetly as she watched Anastas bow to her,it was easy for her to see the dedication and strength in the knights eyes as Ashlyn drew closer,her slender hand moving to stroke her cheek."Such a good,loyal knight.I sincerly hope that you can eventually see me as more then just your princess,Perhaps we can be friends as well?"She asked softly and smiled.She had wanted to be treated as if she were a normal person,not some precious treasure,not some fragile thing to be locked away.
 
Anastas heart fluttered when the princess placed her soft hands on her cheek. A small shade of pink appeared on her cheeks at her words then smiled. "I...would like that m'lady" she said then got up and bowed. "I'll take my leave. I was in a long battle and I need my rest." she would have loved to stay with her but she was very tired from the battle. She straighted up and headed out.
 
Ashlyn smiled again and nodded,She had seen the soft blush that had appeared on the knight's cheeks.She couldn't help but think it cute."As you wish Anastas,Your to be given the room next to mine,It was the guardian before your's room.If you like I can have some one bring your things for you while you rest."She offered and a soft giggle escaped her lips.
 
"T-Thank you madam." Anastas smiled slightly. She loved to see the princess happy. "I shall take my leave to rest." she said then turned and left for her room. She was asleep within minutes of laying down on the bed. She started dreaming about her and Ashlyn.
 
"Your quite welcome dear."She said softly and nodded as she watched her knight take her leave,She rang a small bell and a servant made his entrance."I would like all of Anastas's belongings moved to her new rooms,After shes had her rest of course."She said and watched as the servant made his exit."Hmmm Anastas...."She softly said to herself as she opened her book and returned to her reading.She couldn't help smiling as she thought of her new knight.
 
As Anastas' body slumbered her mind was still running. She dreams about her and Ashlyn together. Sitting in the garden in the courtyard, walking proudly next to her carriage as she rode down the village streets, and deafening her when she was in danger. Then the dream took a strange turn. They where in Ashlyn's room, Anastas stared into the princess' eyes as she tucked her hair behind her ear then started leaning forward. She awoke just before their lips met.
 
Ashlyn didn't know why but she found a soft blush on her cheeks as her mind continued to drift from her book and back to Anastas.It was widely know that Ashlyn had rejected every suitor that had been offered to her.Her father had reluctantly allowed her to do so,he knew how important it would be for her to marry eventually but he did want her to be with the one she wanted.She sighed softly,bored now as she stood up and ran a hand though her silky blond hair.
 
Anastas sat up and rubbed her eyes. What was that she dreamed about. She knew she had this strange attraction to the princess but she never realized it was an attraction of that kind. "It's absurd." she said to herself then brushed it off. She caulked up the strange dream to stress from the battle, fatigue and the excitement of her new job as Ahslyn's bodyguard. A faint rumble came from her stomach so she got up to see of they have begun to serve dinner yet.
 
Ashlyn nodded to herself as she walked to the door of her room,She had decided that she would invite Anastas to a private dinner for the two of them.It would be a perfect opportunity for her to get to know her better.She left the room and made her way down the short distance between their rooms to see that Anastas was leaving her room as well."Ahhh I was hoping that I could catch you."I wanted to invite to to dinner tonight."
 
Anastas was caught off guard and stood at full attention when the princess spoke. The shade of pink returned to her cheeks then she invited her to dinner "O-Oh...I-It would be a great honor." she said with a smile.
 
Ashlyn smiled happily and giggled,She couldnt help but to think that the way she blushed was cute as she nodded and reached forward to take her hand."Then come with me,We can wait in my room and talk until its ready then."She said and gently led her to her room.
 
"Oh uhh sure" Anastas followed willingly she then opened the door for the princess and led her into her room. She sat on a chair that was by Ashlyn's vanity mirror and stayed quiet, not sure what to say.
 
Ashlyn giggled softly as she saw Anastas struggle to find something to talk about."Why dont you tell me about yourself dear?"She asked with a soft smile."You dont have to be so formal when we are alone if you prefer."
 
"ummm ok princess Ashlyn." Anastas said then started talking. She talks about how she was born in a family of mostly boys. She loved playing knights when she was little and always wanted to be one. "When other girls wanted to be a princess I wanted to be a brave knight that protects her" she said with great pride.
 
Ashlyn listened quietly as Anastas talked about her childhood and her dreams of becoming a knight."Im very happy that you've become my knight."She said with a smile and took her hand."Ive never felt safer."
 
"I am honored" Anastas smiled. She felt a great sense of pride when the princess told her that. "I'll will not fail you. I swear it" she added "So, tell me about yourself. What is the princess like behind closed doors?"
 
Ashlyn smiled softly and blushed slightly,She was unused to such devotion.She began to talk about her childhood,growing up as an only child,About how she had grown to love reading,filling her mind with story's of love and triumph.She smiled softly and motioned with her hand to the large book shelves,taking up one wall of the room."When your a princess,your only real friends are the ones in books,the ones that cant betray you."She said softly and looked down.
 
Anastas looked over at the mountain of books in amazment. She was never much of a reader and admired the princess more for her large collection. What she said next saddened her. She was surprised that even tho she had a whole kingdom she was still lonely. Anastas got up and kneeled down before the princess "You needn't not worry about that anymore." she said as she gazed into her eyes. "I'll be more than your knight. I'll be your friend" she said with a smile. Just then a bell can be heard, signaling that it was dinnertime.
 
Ashlyn blushed softly as she watched Anastas get up from her chair and kneel before her.Her blush grew a little deeper as their blue gazes met and she heard her words.It looked like she had wanted to say something but they were interrupted by the bell telling them that it was time to eat.She smiled and took her hand gently."Shall we go then?"She asked.
