Two figures rode slowly through the deep green wood of their home. The trees on all sides seemed to bend and sway with their passage, almost paying homage to the two and how right they should. Not only were the two figures of the fair folk but these were the elven prince and princess. Dearest friends as well as brother and sister. They worked Constantly to help others that lived just outside the realm of their kingdom, their own home was well cared for and the people were happy beyond imagining. However around their kingdom they could find many people that needed the help of two such gifted individuals.

Alton, prince of the elves, rode with his back straight a cloak flowing down his back with the hood thrown back letting his long blonde hair spill out around his shoulders. His dark emerald eyes looked over at the shorter companion with him. They didn't feel the need to travel with any guards, considering they were both skilled with the use of magic and Alton was just as skilled with the blade as he was with magic. It was unlikely for anything to attack them out on the open road of their own kingdom anyway.

The two of them crested a hill that would let them get their first look at the great castle of their father. Normally the stately tree rose high into the sky before them as they crossed this last hill. The tree rose out of the great castle that their father had built around it. It rose out of the throne room itself higher up then any of the other trees of the forest. The walls would shine and glisten on a normal day with the polished steal of the guardsmen stationed there. The sight that waited for them was one that sent a chill through Alton. Smoke rose from the castle, not from just outside the walls or just inside them, but from around the hole that the tree came out of. The castle was under attack though from the look of it, that wasn't quite right, the castle had been attacked and was now captured.

All around the castle a horde of dark elves and orcs moved clearly celebrating their victory. Alton just continued to stare shocked to see the proud kingdom that was now in the hands of such vile creatures. He could only guess at what had happened to their family that had all been at the castle. The truth was they should have been back yesterday as well but had taken a little extra time on the journey. He was now glad that they had but he wished he had been there, maybe he could have done something. He was so lost in his own world for the moment that he didn't pay much attention to how his little sister was taking this.

Linka was the princess of elves. As they rode through the forest, she held on to the reigns of her steed and allowed it to move according to his will, following the steed before him. She was an uncharacteristically small elf for her age. At least a few inches smaller than the other girls, but that was what made her adored among her people. While small and lithe, she had a personality that made up for the height difference. The elf princess was well loved and cherished. Her impressive ability with magic was also a trait that many others admired about her. She worked with her brother to cultivate her magic abilities and make her as good as she could be for some one her age. It was the trips she took with her older brother that made her happiest. The memories they shared and the experiences they gained made her grow closer to him.

The princess wore a smaller, forest green cloak than her older brother with her hood pulled up as well and wore a small, ivory princess dress under that with sandals. The little cloak waved in the wind like a flag as her horse trotted along proudly as if it knew exactly who he carried on his back. The horse picked up speed to trot beside her brother's horse, giving her a chance to return the glance her brother shot to her. Both their eyes were a green hue, but hers were a bit brighter than his. Her blonde eyebrows raised slightly as their eyes met and she smiled to him cheerfully. While Linka did enjoy these trips with her brother, she enjoyed going home just as much.

As they reached the top of the hill, her eyes slowly widened and her jaw slackened. Smoke billowed from their precious castle and line after line of dark elf and troll strode out through the front gates like they owned the place, as they clearly did at that point. Tears formed in her eyes as she thought about their parents and where they could possibly be. Linka glanced to Alton and sobbed. "Alton what do we do?" He didn't react or say anything. She urged her horse closer to him, to which he responded with a bit of nervousness and she grabbed the side of his cloak. "Alton! We need to go help them! M-Maybe they're still alive!" She cried out shakily. Her arms trembled slightly, as she was clearly shaken by the sight.

Alton just stared at the scene before him for a long moment as he tried his best to process what was happening. There was no way that he could think of the dark elves overwhelming the castle, not without help from inside. That meant there was a traitor in his father's court, and only one elf came to his mind as the likely party. His hand gripped the hilt of his sword ready to charge down into the thick of those thousands of orcs and gain revenge for his parents.

A moment before the urge pushed him to do just that he felt the tug on his cloak and turned. His sister sat there on her steed eyes nearly spilling over with tears and in that moment he knew he couldn't attack. Taking a moment to look back at the smoking ruin he turned and making his horse turn away he took Linka's reins from her hand . "We can't help them. First thing we have to do is make sure that our bloodline isn’t lost. We will find out what happened to them but only after you are safe." He started to ride away holding the reins of her horse to make it follow him.

His mind was screaming at him to not leave to go back and help them but he knew his duty and he would make sure that Linka was safe.
