William was known as something of a prodigy amongst his peers, at 20 years old he was one of the youngest recognised explorers in the world, and had already been on several expeditions, discovering new lost tribes of humans, cities that had been lost to time and indications of civilizations long since gone and forgotten, but it was never enough. William always wanted to explore further, swearing he wouldn't stop until every last square inch of this planet had been explored. And now, here William found himself on his latest expedition, with a group deep into unexplored parts of the jungle. This was what William enjoyed the most, being somewhere unknown, where modern man had never set foot. To be among the first group here....oh it was fantastic.
At the moment the group was following a strong flowing river, attempting to track it back to its source. There were no mountains in the area, and Will's theory was that there was some kind of underground spring feeding it. The natives living on the edge of the jungle had warned them away, tried to convince the group that the jungle was inhabited by monsters, but Will had heard it a thousand times before. He chuckled and shook his head, an unfortunate mistake, a split second that would cost him more than he realised. For that moment when Will wasn't looking where he was going, his foot snagged on a partially exposed tree root, and he fell, yelping as he tumbled to the unstable ground and ended up rolling down into the river. The moment he touched the water, his body was swept away, being carried deeper and deeper into the jungle, his companions out of sight in seconds.
The man struggled against the water, flailing his arms and legs uselessly as the river twisted and turned. Eventually however, there was one turn so sharp that the speed he was going flung Will to the riverbank, where he was able to grab a large tree root, hoisting himself out of the water, coughing and spluttering as he staggered away from th rivers edge. "Oh man......" He stood panting for a few moments to recover his breath, then looked up and around. "Where am I.....?" He was much much deeper into the jungle than the expedition was supposed to go, he knew that much. Anything more however was a mystery. "Damnit...." He growled, considering his options for a moment, before with a sigh he began to walk. All he could do was try to walk in a straight line and find a way out of the jungle....
