A new school year and a new school, by now this was the norm for Dominic Strauss, his fifth high school in four years and honestly the only one that made this one stand out from the others he had attended was the fact that instead of an exclusive private school he was being sent to a public school to finish up the final year of his school. His parents had finally gotten tired of sending him from one elite school to the next when he inevitably got kicked out of the last and after getting ending the semester at an out of state boarding school by nailing the Dean's twin daughters in his office... well public school at least wouldn't be sending a bill home if he got himself expelled.
This time Dominic wasn't intending to get himself kicked out though, the rebellion of the past three years had been interesting enough and had certainly passed the time but he did have college the next year and even with the money of his family he would need to have some decent greats in order to get accepted and his eventual plans for law school would require some studying. Of course just because he was intending to be a little less rebellious then he had been before didn't mean he couldn't have any fun... he had been ready to keep an open mind and then he had seen her.
First day, just before the first bell he had gone to the office to sign up for his schedule and sitting right next to him was a beautiful young lady who seemed to be having some schedule issues of her own. Unable to put a finger on what it was about her that caught his attention Dominic had glanced down at her own schedule out of the corner of his eye and quickly copied most of it down onto his own class list, only two different classes in total to round out his required credits for graduation. Soon he was turning in the schedule and a quick word with the woman at the front desk had gotten the young lady assigned to show him around on his first day. Dominic put the time with her to good use, by the end of the first class he had asked her out and been turned down... and he hated to be turned down, not getting his way was what Dominic hate more then just about anything else in the world.
SO he had persisted, turning on the charm and using his winning smile, he had to ask a few more times but eventually she had agreed to go out with him the next Friday. He had offered to pick her up for the date but she had held firm on that point, she would meet him at the movie theater. He was hardly going to complain about that though, once she showed up he would be able to get down to business and he suspected she would be a great deal of fun.
Of course word that she would be going out with him spread, more then a few other guys at the school expressing jealousy, apparently he wasn't the first who had asked her out but she had never agrees go go on a date with anyone before... one even put forth the thought that she was a lesbian and was just going out with him to cover up her sexual preference.
None of that had mattered to Dominic though, he was looking forward to being able to spend some time with her outside of the school and when the night came he took his time getting ready. Really it was something simple enough, a tight black t-shirt that showed off the hard work that he put into staying fit, matched perfectly with a pair of designer jeans... he wanted to come off casual while going out with her that night, relaxed but well dressed. His hair took a little more time, carefully moussed and tossed so it looked as though he had rolled out of bed... amazing how much effort it took to look entirely relaxed. Soon he was satisfied with his appearance and it was time to go.
Grabbing the tickets he had printed out online Dominic made his way to his car, a vintage 1967 GTO hard top that had been his sixteenth birthday present and was on his way to the theater... running slightly behind schedule but worst case scenario they would miss some of the pre-preview comercials, but they were hardly the point.
Traffic was worse then expected but Dominic hardly noticed with the way he drove, weaving in and out of traffic, cutting some red lights incredibly close and cutting off someone in a minivan when pulling into the only open parking spot he could see. It was close enough to the theater that he didn't have to rush, walking at a relaxed place through the outdoor shopping center until he caught a glimpse of her, she wasn't looking in his direction so he moved up behind her, passing through the crowds of people like an animal on the prowl, stalking it prey... a similarity that occurred to him and brought a smile to his face just before he reached her.
“Glad to see that you showed up.” He said, leaning in close to her as he placed a hand on her arm. “It had occurred to me that you might have actually decided not to come here tonight.”
