Jayde sighed as she pushed the blankets off of her, slowly making her way out of bed. Wearing just an oversized tshirt and a pair of black lace panties, she walked over to the large mahogany dresser on the other side of her room and pulled out a pair of yoga pants, slipping them on. She glanced in the mirror above the dresser before walking out, taking in her appearance. Despite just having woke up, she still looked good. Her dark auburn hair hung loosely at the middle of her back, her lightly tanned skin glowing. Her father told her that she was a spitting image of her mother, a woman whom she'd never met, or even seen for that matter. Dismissing the thought, she turned away from the mirror and walked into the hallway.

As she stepped out of her room, a look of confusion spread across her face. Where were the guards? There was always one on each side of her door. She was so used to them at that point and never paid any mind to them, but now that they weren't there, something just didn't seem right. As a young child, she had never questioned it so much, but as she grew older, she started to pester her father with questions, wanting to know why there were always so many strange men around them. He simply told her that they were there to protect them. Because of the fact that he was such an important and powerful man, he had enemies, and he wanted to make sure that she was safe at all times. No matter how many times she asked, this was the answer she always received. To this day, she still didn't know what exactly it was that her father did, just that he was important. After awhile, she just began to accept the fact that he wouldn't tell her more, and finally stopped asking questions. Still, she was curious.

After glancing around the hallway for a moment, Jayde finally just shrugged it off and made her way into the kitchen, which almost always had at least one guard. Like her room, there was no one there. She suddenly started to feel a bit uneasy. Where were they all? She had never witnessed one of her father's 'enemies' or been put in harms way, but that was because there were always people there to protect her. Now, she was alone. Making her way back into the hallway, she walked quickly, trying to get to her dad's office. She knew she was probably overreacting, but she was scared. Practically running, she finally made it to his door, opening it without knocking, something he told her never to do. Strangely, he wasn't there. "Daddy?" she called out, peaking into the large room.

Daniel was very careful on the timing of the assassination. He made sure that everyone was asleep, including the target and her father. He didn't know why he was sent on a contract to kill the girl instead of the much more powerful and influential father, but he didn't question. He just performed. So, he slipped into the mansion under the disguise of one of the numerous butlers, with one who looked strikingly similar to himself. Daniel's black hair, which was buzzed, fit the bill of the servant perfectly. His eyes, a steely blue, and even the build, which was a skinnier athletic build, was a perfect match.

He had known a few waiting techniques from past training. They taught everything, from how to disguise your voice to hiding lying to the actual deed of killing. It was a simple, harsh lifestyle that Daniel was born into. His father was the head of the organization, and his mother was another assassin he took a fancy to. Daniel never met his mother. She was gone away on numerous missions, and Daniel's father always was training him. It was a rough childhood, to say the least.

Daniel was debating killing the father when he heard light, feminine footsteps outside the door. He menttally swore, moving to hide in a closet of all things. He peeked out of the crack between the door and the doorframe, and heard the soft "Daddy?" When the girl walked into the room. Daniel remembered that he had knocked the father out, and probably killed the man out of shock. To the assassin's luck, it was the daughter who came into the room, and he was now waiting to strike.

Stepping into the room, she still saw no sign of her father. She sighed, unsure of what to do. Where the hell was everyone? The house was always filled with people. Butlers, guards, people her father worked with. After standing in the middle of the room for a moment, she decided she would just stay in here and wait. After all, he spent the majority of his day in his office, so he would have to show up at some point. Glancing around, she took in all the expensive looking paintings and sculptures that filled the room. She hadn't been in here very often, it was typically an off limits place for her. Part of her was worried that her dad would be upset with her for coming in while he wasn't there, but he could never stay mad at her long. He would understand that she was just scared.

After slowly making her way around the room, looking at all of the strange decor, Jayde walked over to her father's desk. She would just sit down until he got there. When she walked around to the chair, what she saw brought a scream to her lips, the high pitched sound echoing through the room. Taking a step back, her mouth gaped open from shock. Her father was laying on the floor behind his desk, a pool of blood around his head. She sank down to her knees, slowly reaching out to touch him. "Daddy.." she said quietly, hoping that by some chance, he was ok.

Daniel knew where she was when he heard the scream. He had memorized the layout of the building to the inch, and knew that his target was about 10 strides away from his place in the closet. Given how large his strides were, he estimated it would take 5 seconds to reach her. It was a gamble, but now was as good a time as any, while she was in shock from her father's...condition.

He flipped up the hood of his hoodie, concealing his face from view. He slowly opened the door, peering out. He saw the target with her mouth covered in horror, no doubt staring at her father. He opened the door wider, wincing slightly at the small creak it made, and snuck his way out of the closet and to his target.

Jayde had never had the best relationship with her father. He kept her confined to their house at almost all times. When she did get to leave, she was accompanied by body guards. She had been home schooled, she didn't have friends, she spent each day alone. All because of him. More times than not, she resented him, but now that he had suddenly been taken away from her, all she wanted was to have him back. As many times as she had wished he wasn't her father and despite all the fights they'd had, she suddenly needed him. He was the only family she had. "Daddy please wake up." she begged frantically, pulling on his suit.

She was too preoccupied to even notice the creaking sound that had come from the closet. The only thing on her mind was trying to get her father to come to. If it wasn't for the faint movement of his chest, she would've thought he was dead. "Wake up!" she practically shouted, her eyes filling with tears as she began to shake him. Whoever did this to him could still be in the house. Without the guards, she had no one to protect her. She needed him to wake up to keep her safe, because she knew if she was faced with his attacker, she wouldn't be able to defend herself.

Daniel walked up slowly to her, not wanting to make any other sound that wasn't needed. The creak of the closet door scared him enough, a loose floorboard would surely be heard. He knew his target was utterly defenseless, like a lion attacking a zebra. The lion knows the zebra's only defense it its hooves, but a lion can defend against hooves. Similarly, the only thing Daniel's target had was her fists, and fists weren't nearly as hard to defend against as a gun. He twirled the knife in his hand a bit, sending a glint of light across the room.

He was right next to her now, within striking distance. He took a breath. Now or never... He leapt up, and muted her mouth with his knife up to her throat. "Don't move, or try to scream, or you'll meet your precious father in the afterlife."

She had been completely unsuspecting. She hadn't even known the man was there until suddenly came up behind her. As soon as his hand came over her mouth, she tried to scream, but the sound was muffled. She immediately went silent as he threatened her, whimpering a bit against his hand as she felt the blade of the knife against her throat. Closing her eyes, she took deep breaths through her nose, trying to keep herself calm. She didn't know what to do to get herself out of the situation, but what she did know was that freaking out wouldn't help her.

She tried to stay still, but despite him telling her not to move, she found herself shifting a bit, trying to back away from the knife. Her heart was beating so fast that she was almost sure he could hear it. No one had ever prepared her for anything like this, she felt completely helpless.

No emotion betrayed his face. Killing had become an apathic thing for Daniel. His first kill was different. He was scared, like she was now. He could hear her heart, and when he glanced down, he could see her shaky breaths. He smirked, and whispered into her ear, "I need information from you. Don't bother screaming. All of your bodyguards are dead."

Without giving her anytime to answer, he spun the target around and sat her in the office desk's chair. His hand was still covering her mouth, but his knife hand slowly left her neck. "Don't give me the information I want..." Daniel crouched down slowly, and held the knif up to her father's throat. "...and I will kill your father. Do you understand?"

Jayde jumped a bit at the sound of his voice, her eyes fluttering open. She glanced down at her father, wishing even more now that he would wake up. She felt even more uneasy as he spoke. What kind of information? She didn't know anything. She could only assume it was about her father, and when it came to him, she didn't have information other than the fact that he was her dad. This man probably knew more about his life than his own daughter did.

As he moved her around, she stared up at him, seeing the cruel look on his face. She searched for any sign of compassion but saw none. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked at the stranger, hoping that maybe, just maybe he would see that she didn't have anything to do with this. She was innocent.

She felt herself relax just a tiny bit as he moved the knife away from her throat. She was still scared beyond belief, but it was a relief to not have the sharp blade pressed against her skin. However, she began to panic once again as he moved the knife down to her father. She looked back up at him, a pleading look in her eye. His words caused the tears in her eyes to leak down onto her cheeks. She would be the cause of her fathers death. She didn't know anything. Desperately, she wanted to tell him that, but couldn't because of the hand covering her mouth. Instead, she just nodded, trying to think of something, anything to get herself out of this situation.

Daniel was about to start the questions when a few things caught his attention, specifically the lack of a picture of the target on the desk. He thought someone of the father's stature would remember his own daughter. He brushed it off as it was in a drawer or something. It makes sense, a father wouldn't want a picture of his family ruined.

Daniel pressed the blade into the target's father's neck. He said, "Now, I'm going to ask you a question. I'll remove my hand from your mouth, and you'll answer me. If you scream, he dies. When you answer, my hand will cover your mouth again. Understand?"

Her eyes followed his as he glanced around, trying to figure out what he was thinking. More importantly, she tried to think of a way to distract him. She needed to get him away from her father.

Jayde tensed up as he pressed the knife against her father's skin, scared for his life. She looked back up at the man as he spoke, trying not to panic. She just hoped he wouldn't ask anything too complex. Trying to keep her composure, she nodded. As much as she wanted to, she would refrain from screaming. There wasn't anyone to hear her anyway.

Daniel nodded slowly. He knew thatv she understood the circumstances. "Ok, for the first question..." Daniel debated briefly on what to ask first. He didn't want to confuse the target immediately. That wouldn't do any good, both for the assassin and the target's daughter. "...do you know anything of Project Eden?" He doubted it. By the look on her eyes, Daniel knew that she didn't know a thing about Project Eden. His client probably wanted him to go after the girl for intimidation.

Slowly, the assassin moved his hand away from her mouth.

Jayde felt her nerves growing as he paused before asking the first question. She wondered what it would be, or if he would expect her to know the answer. What if he thought she did and she truly didn't? Would he still kill her father? She tried not to think about it, knowing that it would only make things worse. What she needed to do was stay calm. Taking a deep breath, she waited for him to ask his first question.

She felt both uneasy and relieved by the first question he asked her. It wasn't something she could get wrong, after all, he was asking if she knew about it. It was a yes or no question, and the answer was no. But at the same time, he had originally said that he was looking for information. What if he wanted information about this project and she didn't have it? She opened her mouth to speak as he pulled his hand away from her mouth, her voice coming out just a bit louder than a whisper. "No.." she said quietly, the fear in her eyes growing.

The answer was expected. It wasn't a very well known project, and the only reason he asked was because this house was a hotspot of activity for it. Daniel thought for a bit before his next question. He wanted the answers he needed, and his client would be pissed if Daniel didn't get them. It meant that he would ask another, less simple question.

The assassin asked his next question slowly. "Do you know why I am here?" Just as before, he slowly pulled his hand away from her mouth and waited patiently for an answer.

She felt relieved that he seemed to believe her, but again, her relief didn't last long. In her opinion, she thought his next question was incredibly stupid. Did she look like she knew why he was there? Obviously, he was there for information, and it would make sense to say that he was there to harm her father, but she didn't know why he was doing those things. He hadn't told her what he was doing there, so how on earth would she know?

A few tears began to fall from her eyes once again, running onto his hand. As he pulled it away from her mouth, she looked up at him, shaking her head slightly. Hopefully he would believe her like he did the first time. "I don't know.." she said, a hint of frustration in her voice as she buried her head in her hands. "I don't know anything." she said defeatedly, her voice catching a bit.

Daniel watched his target cry. She cried tears, real tears. These weren't showing up so she could get out of death. She was scared, defeated, and frustrated, all at the same time. The assassin decided not to tell the girl his motives, as she would probably break down. He hesitantly laid a reassuring hand onto the girl's shoulder, a sobbing, shaking soulder that probably needed it. He grabbed her face lightly with his fingers, and spoke.

"Listen to me. I was here to kill you. Don't be scared, I've changed my mind. The tears you've shed have determined you an innocent, not needing death. I don't know why my client sent me to kill you, he was probably enemies with your father." At this, he gestures with his head towards the unconsious body on the floor. "I will never kill someone who doesn't deserve it."

He stood, and had an idea. There was no lust involved, he simply wanted something in return. "In return, I desire something of you." He looked at the girl again. That was when the lustful undertone entered his voice. "I would like boarding and...possibly more." He grinned mischevously.

Jayde jumped slightly as she felt his hand on her shoulder, scared that she had angered him somehow. Surprisingly, his touch was gentle. It didn't make sense to her. Her gaze shifted up towards him, a few tears still running down from her eyes as he gently held her face. At first she didn't understand why, but the gesture was almost comforting in a way. She took a shaky breath as he began to speak, trying to calm down a bit, but her eyes widened at what he had to said. Why was he there to kill her? She hadn't done anything. She felt a bit better as he explained that he wasn't going to go through with it, but still, she was more confused than anything. What could her father have possibly done to make someone want to kill her?

She glanced down at her father as he gestured towards him, so many questions running through her head. Before, she had always accepted the simple answers he gave her about what he did, but now, she wanted real answers. Who was he really? What was it that he did that made him have enemies in the first place, and what kind of things must he have done to make someone go after an innocent girl?

Her attention was brought back to the man as he began to speak again. Jayde bit her lip slightly as he spoke, taking note of the smirk on his face. What did 'more' entail? "Umm.." she mumbled, unsure of what to think or say. She couldn't deny him anything, after all, her life was in his hands. "Okay." she said after a moment, a hint of nervousness on her face. Though she was still scared, she felt much better than before. She felt safer with him now, knowing that he knew she hadn't done anything to deserve this. "But.. you want to stay here?" she asked, confused. How would that work with her father?

Daniel knew what the question meant when she looked down at her father before asking it. She was worried it wouldn't go over well with her father, which he probably wouldn't. Knowing this, Daniel looked at the girl in the eye. He knew the father was overprotective when he walked in and saw the legions of bodyguards, but he brushed it off as the father knew he was coming and bought more. "I can say that I was injured and came here to ask for a phone, and you let me stay the night."

He stood, and knew what he should explain next. "As for what more entails..." His eyes roamed her body, already picking out the sensitive spots of her skin.

Jayde was still skeptical, unsure of whether or not his idea would work with her father. Either way, she had to go with it. Even if it wasn't a good idea, he had spared her life. She owed this to him. "Okay.." she said skeptically, trying to stay on his good side. Part of her wished he would just leave, but at the same time, she was almost excited to see what the night would bring.

Though she wasn't exactly sure what all he meant by more, she had a bit of an idea. The way his eyes traveled over her body made it somewhat obvious, she just didn't know how far he would take things. In a way, it made her feel helpless, knowing that even if she didn't want it, she would have to go with it. But at the same time, the way he gazed at her almost left her wanting more. She didn't understand it. He had hurt her father, and had come there in the first place to kill her. She shouldn't want to even look at him, but for some reason, she was drawn to him.

Perhaps it was the fact that she had never done anything with a man. As protective as her father was, she never had the chance. He kept her confined to their home, always under someones watch. This was her chance to rebel, and as wrong as it was, part of her hoped that her thoughts were correct about what he meant by wanting more.

Daniel grinned warmly. "Okay. I'm staying here, then." He stood, and looked at the unconsious body that was next to him. Sighing, he lifted the body up, feeling the strain it put on his muscles, and carried him to his bedroom, laying him down there. He covered the father in the covers, and folded his hands on his chest. Nodding slowly, he walked back to the office. He noticed the girl was still sitting there, tears no longer flowing, but tracks stained her cheeks.

Sighing again, Daniel walked over to her. He pulled a chair up next to her, and rested a hand on her upper back, trying to be comforting. "He'll be fine. He'll have a nasty headache, but he'll be fine." He rubbed his hand up and down her back slowly.

She stared off into space as the man moved her father, so many thoughts running through her head. None of this was something she had expected, and it left her in a bit of a haze. She was so used to the same thing happening every day, and this was by far different than anything she had ever experienced. Would things go back to normal after this? What would happen to her? Even though the man had said he wouldn't kill her, there was still someone out there who wanted her dead. If he didn't get the job done, would someone else?

As he walked back into the room, she pushed the thought aside, trying not to worry herself further. Strangely, his touch seemed to relax her once again. It was odd how she went from being completely terrified of him to feeling safe around him in such a short amount of time. She bit her lip slightly as she looked up at him, wondering what would happen next. "Now what?" she asked after a moment.

Daniel shrugged slightly. "I don't know. I have a few..." He chose his next word very, very carefully. "...ideas on what we could do. It all depends if you want to or not..." While the assassin knew that he could force her, he didn't want to for some reason. Maybe it was because he knew what she had been through, what with a random guy who tried to kill her and all. Now, that guy was suggesting that they should just have sex without even knowing each other. It was insane, but it was worth a try.

Breathing deeply, Daniel very subtly moved the hand rubbing her back lower and lower, until they were rubbing the small of her back, just above the waistline of her pants. The assassin himself was surprised at his audacity, but it could be passed off as accidental should she say no.

Jayde watched him intently as he spoke, eager to see what would happen. She was nervous, but yet she wanted him to touch her more. It was all so confusing for her. She didn't understand what it was about him that drew her to him. Maybe it was simply the fact that she'd never really been alone with any other man before, other than her father.

"What kind of ideas?" she pressed on, wanting to know exactly what it was he had in mind. Even though she found herself wanting something from him, she wasn't sure if she could initiate it or not. After all, she'd never done anything like this. She took a deep breath as his hand moved lower, wanting to feel his touch everywhere. In a way, she was ashamed for wanting such things. After everything that had happened, and she didn't even know him, yet she felt as though she needed more.

At first, she hadn't even noticed, but as time went on, she seemed to be moving closer to him. It wasn't until her leg brushed against his that she realized she had been closing the space between them. "Sorry.." she said quietly, her cheeks turning pink as she shifted her leg so that it wasn't rested against his any longer.

Daniel was half tempted to kiss her. He wanted this girl more than he ever wanted any girl in his life. He even didn't want the targets who tried to seduce him. They were all beautiful, and they were willing to have sex with him so he wouldn't take their life, but he killed them anyway. Why was this girl so different? Why did she have such a hold on him?

Daniel realized he had one major question to ask before moving any further. "What's your name?" As he asked this, Daniel pulled the girl into him, hopefully stating his intentions without answering her question head on. He was a crafty bastard like that.

It took her a minute to answer. Obviously it wasn't a difficult question, but she seemed to be at a loss for words as he pulled her into him so that she was practically on his lap. She had never been so close to someone in this way. Acting a bit bold, at least for her, she gently placed her hands on his chest. She had meant to just rest them there, but as she felt his toned body beneath them, she couldn't help but run her hands down his chest and to his stomach, simply feeling his body. She suddenly snapped back to reality, remembering his question.

After somewhat regaining her composure, she finally answered him. "Jayde." she told him, looking up at him, their faces dangerously close. "What's yours?" she asked, trying not to show how much of an affect he was having on her. Still, he could probably tell. He seemed to know what he was doing, whereas she was completely clueless.
