Kristen had woken up late and had slung a bag over her shoulder as she jogged out of the house, jogging to school to make it on time. Just last week, she had registered at Garth Brook High and now she was going to be late, perfect. She skid to a stop as she opened the doors, she heard the bell ring and she groaned, closing her eyes as she slowed to a stop. Unlike, the other students, she wasn't breathing hard from the jogging and her eyes were a light, icy blue rimmed by liquid gold. She walked forward again, sighing, as she made it too her locker, and rustling around she pulled out her books, flung them into her bag and then pulled out her schedule.
She studied it for a while, looking it over and looking at the class room numbers and the teachers. Then she started walking to class as she neared the classroom, Algebra, she became nervous and slowed down marginally as she reached it and then turned the doorknob. She stepped inside and a chagrined smile became pasted on her face as she turned to look at the teacher. Mr. Miller had cleared his throat and then said, "Well, Ms. Kristen, your first day and your late, doesn't surprise me much. Well take a seat and take out your book and join us why don't you."
Kristen groaned inwardly and rolled her eyes as she muttered, "It's not like I meant to be late." She grumbled and went to find a seat as she heard snickers from the other students and the occasional freak thrown into the mix of snickers, giggles and laughs. Now that stung, her first day and people were already calling her a freak and laughing at her. Even better, she sighed and sat down, pulling out her book and her notebook, taking out a pencil as she flipped open to a blank page and started scribbling the notes that Mr.Miller was writing on the board.
