A new life (Keyria and Cheif)

Keyria Lovi

Super-Earth
Keyria stepped out of her new house, breathing deeply as she felt relaxed with her choice of moving. She'd been through a few rough months of hell and decided enough was enough. She found a little house for rent in a medium-sized town. It sounded nice and quiet, so she made the sudden choice to leave, and never look back.

She walked down the street, noticing there weren't many people out. She needed to find a job, but most of the places were closed, with odd hours posted on their doors. She looked at the sky, growing darker by the minute. A deep sigh settled in her chest as she found a little cafe that had just opened.

She walked through the door, her pencil skirt clinging to her legs. The slit in the side only giving relief to her legs, the slit ending mid-thigh. She brushed her long, curly red hair over her shoulder, feeling it tickle her waist. She sat at the little counter bar and crossed her arms in front of her silk halter blouse. It fully covered the front, but her back was clearly exposed, showing the structure of her fair skin that was speckled with freckles. Her bright blue eyes searched the cafe, seeing she was the first in for the start of the evening.

Michael exited out of the back room of his cafe and instantly notice an young woman sitting at the counter, he knew she was new to this towm the moment he laid eyes on her. It was mainly because of the fact it was still a tad early for any of his usual customers that visited and more importantly, she smell quite lively for an vampire. Michael only shocked his head lightly before fingering through his shoulder length ink color hair to neatening it out some, since he had only just woken up and hadn't took the time to comb it. "Can I help you with anything miss?" Michael asked looking to where she was currently sitting as he wait patiently for her to make an order.

Keyria's head shot up at the sudden voice, her mind had been thinking of her plans for the evening. She stared into the face of a rather handsome man, inky black hair to his shoulder, slightly messy. She smiled brightly, happy to see at least one guy that looked pretty damn hot. "Um, hi. Would you happen to have Spiced Chai? I love it and could really go for some right now." Her voice was silky, soft but steady. Her eyes glistened, looking intently at the man. Her face warmed with a smile that tugged the corners of her lips. Unconsciously, she flicked her tongue over them, wetting them slightly.

Michael smiled back quite used to this form of attention from women, "I'll go check if we have any, excuse me for a moment" he replied still smiling as he head to the front and placed a black clip on the close and open sign, which was currently flip with the bolder words of 'open' facing toward the windowed door. Then Michael entered the back and look through the shelf filled with small boxes of tea, he was half way til he found what he was looking for as he took the box off spiced chai and soon get to work on making the young lady requested drink.

After ten minutes or so, Michael exited the back with the prepared drink at hand as it rest peacfully on a small tray. Thr sleeves off his button-up white dress shirt, which complemented his black pair of slacks, were neatly rolled up as he usually have them that way to avoid staining his sleeves when working and to prevent them getting caught on something as well. "Here you are madam. Sorry if I'm prying, but I don't believe I seen you before. New to town?" Michael asked as he place the white glass mug on to the counter in front of the the woman.

Keyria took a sip of her drink, closing her eyes at how wonderful it tasted. She licked her lip, looking at him with a shy smile on her face. "Oh, yes. I just moved in down the street a little ways. I'm Keyria. Keyria Lovi." She extended her hand to his, giving him a warm smile. She looked into his eyes, wondering why a guy like him would work in a little place like this. "So, what's with the little clip on the door?" She nodded her head toward the sign, thinking it must be some kind of sign for something.

"A pleasure to meet you, Keyria. The name Michael Knight," he replied while softly grasping her offered hand and raise it up gently before lightly kiss the back. Michael look to the sign with the black clip when she nodded to it, "that? oh it nothing important, just a habit of mine is all" Michael answered with a well convincing lie, the black clip was his way of telling other potential customers that there was a human inside and that there will no eating that human either while they're inside the cafe. Michael's reason for that rule is that he have to clean up after them and it can really be messy sometimes.

"So Keyria, tell me about yourself. Just to past the time, really" Michael asked her as he added in that last bit to reassure her. Michael look the young woman over as he waited for an response and he find her quite appealing, which give all the more reason to have her, mainly to keep her safe from the others as they tend to be...more weak willed.

Keyria smiled at him, feeling very welcomed to the town by him. "Well, Michael, the pleasure is mine." She felt her face blush a little, she'd never really been that blunt with anyone before. "Well, there isn't much to really tell. I'm starting my life over here, so I'm not thinking about the past. It's nothing against you, I would just rather leave it alone." She breathed heavily, her chest rising and falling deeply.

"Sorry. Um, I just moved here, like I said, and I would actually like to know where I might find a job. I'm not too picky, I can do just about anything." She smiled again, feeling a little more calm. He seemed like a nice guy, someone you could trust and talk to.

"Job hunting eh, hm...well I pretty much in need of an new waitress, at least an hard working one. seeing how Laura tend to...well let say she have trouble waking up" Michael spoke as he explain his current predicament to Keyria. The door of the cafe open as an drowsy looking woman with long black hair step inside, she wore an similar attire as Michael only she had an pencil skirt that reach to her knees with a slit that reach half way up her left thigh, in addition she had on an black vest which is currently poorly button, her skin was very light as was Michael's in fact.

"Ah...speaking of which, here she is now. And almost beaten her record of being late, at least she manage to put her heels up this time" Michael remarked crossing as a show of disapproval at Laura dreadful habit. "Huh? Oh, hello sir sorry I'm late. Alarm didn't go off" Laura explain before moving into the Michael's side of the counter then entered the back not even registering Keyria present. "Anyway...what you say Keyria, think you can handle working here? Michael finally offered turning his attention back to the subject at hand.

Keyria looked over the disheveled girl, almost scoffing at her mindlessness. She turned back to Michael and beamed brightly. "Of course! When do you want me to start? And I promise I'll never be late." The last part she added in a whisper, leaning closer to him. She could smell his skin, a deep, musky, almost earthy scent, oddly pleasing. Her skin heated, a blush rising from her chest.

"You can start today so i can see you're able, the cafe open later evening to midnight. Hope that won't be a problem...and i kinda hoping Laura might work harder to keep her job if there another person working here" Michael added in a whisper after answering her question and explaining a few things needed to be said, though going to keep the vampire part a surprise. Though Michael couldn't help but grin when he started sensing how warm she was getting after getting up close to him.

"Ahh...much better, NOW I'm awake" declared Laura returning from the back room with her arms stretch out and her clothing fixed up more neatly, then she started sniffing air as if she had such caught a whiff of something. It wasn't till she look to where Michael was did she notice Keyria, Laura instinctively look to the sign and see the black clip on it. "Relax Laura, this is Keyria. She'll be working along with you, until i approve of her first of course. Keyria, this Laura Griffon." announced Michael before giving the two a brief introduction, "it um...nice to meet you" spoke Laura trying to hide how upset she is about this.

Keyria nodded politely. "Pleasure's all mine, I'm sure." Her voice had an edge of daring to it, like she knew she would outshine her co-worker. She turned back to Michael, running her hand around the back of her neck. "Do you have a uniform you want me to wear, or will I be wearing street clothing? I know different places have different preferences." She smiled, taking another drink of her spicy sweet tea. She shifted, crossing her legs, the slit gaping open more as it stretched. There was a faint glint of a garter and stocking that peeked from the top of the slit.

"I would need to know your size, but that would do for now, seeing how formal it looks" Michael answer smiling then gave her a quick wink as he had sneak a peek when Keyria had crossed her legs. Not long after did a few customers enter the cafe, but they all pause for an brief moment outside to take look at the sign before entering. "Well then, time for work girls" Michael declared handing a notepad and pen to Keyria and telling her to write down their orders on each pages for every different customer.

They were all behaving well, following the rules this town have. All the customers made their orders as both Laura and Keyria worked their best to keep up with the demands, while Michael either take some of his own from those seated at the counter or have a brief conversation with a few of them. Sometime he would have a more private discussion, which would end brief whenever Keyria was passing by them.

Keyria was tired, but her face showed no sign of it. She kept a warm smile on her face, even when she had her back turned to the customers. Her shoe clicking across the floor as she walked quickly back and forth taking orders and serving food. She tried to keep track of how many she served, but lost count quickly.

She took a small break once it got slow, sliding up to the counter. "Hey Michael, mind if I get another drink real fast?" She brushed the stray hair from her face, smile still gleaming. She stretched slightly, her back arcing causing her chest to thrust forward slightly.

Michael turn to where he heard her and smile back before speaking "not a problem, think you can handle making it yourself though, tad busy here" he finish with a soft gesture to the man he had been talking too a for quite a bit. The man happen to be a friend of his and was having a private discussion and didn't wish to end it quite yet. Michael took a brief look around the cafe and see Laura working harder than usual, 'don't want too lose your job that badly, eh Laura?' he thought to himself smiling then went back to his conversation.

Keyria giggled, sliding around the counter and brushing past Michael. She stopped long enough to whisper in his ear, "It must be tiring to talk to someone all day." She gave him a wink and twitched off, heading to the back to get her tea. She was in the room looking through all the boxes of tea and she couldn't help thinking about how strange people had been acting today. They stared at her, some of them had smelled her. She didn't smell bad, she'd put on deodorant and a light spray of perfume before she left.

"Not always, but sometimes" Michael whisper back with an smile, when he was finish talking with the man, Michael notice an woman taking an seat and quickly came over to get her order, then went into the back to prepare it. Michael spotted Keyria looking over the boxes of tea, he took an moment to look her body over and was quite glad of hiring Keyria in the first place. Having a job within town give her an much greater protection than what the black clip can offer, in this town they have certain rules that must be followed and an human that works within the town perimeters were off-limits to anyone except for the employer. However though, even the employer can't take their employee by force, they have to be willing to offer it.

Michael quietly walk to where the fresh pot of coffee was and began preparing the woman's order as he retrieve what was needed, "finding everything you need Keyria?" Michael ask while getting the woman's drink made.

Keyria was swaying her hips while rummaging through the tea boxes, jumping when she heard Mickeal's voice behind her. She held a box to her chest as she flipped around, breathing heavily with one hand at her face. "My god, you scared me. Um.. yeah, I'm finding everything pretty easy. Thanks>" She flashed him a bright smile, heart still racing quickly. She shook the box and opened it, inhaling the wonderful mixture of aroma that rose. She slipped out two bags and walked to the sink, grabbing a large cup and filling it with just straight hot water. She dipped the bags inside, then leaned against the sink for a minute. "So, what's the town like after work? Anything fun to sink my teeth into?"

Michael set the made drink down on the table as he think of what goes on in town later, holding back a smirk from what she said last. "Hm...there a night club a few blocks from here, I could take you there when we close the cafe in the next hour." He picked up the cup and start heading out of the back room, leaving Keyria to her drink.

He give the woman her drink and called Laura over, "Laura...you think you can handle locking the place up after we close, going to show Keyria around the town" after he finish speaking, Laura made a sigh and reluctantly agreed then went back to serving the customers.

Keyria nodded, she liked the sound of going out. It might be good to unwind, especially after the unpacking and working today. She lifted her cup to her lips, taking a long sip of her tea. She went back out to the main area, setting her cup below the counter as she went back to work clearing tables. It wasn't a bad job, and it was something she could be really happy doing. Her boss was really nice, and it got her in contact with people from town.

A hour pass as everyone began to leave the Cafe, with only Michael and the two girls that work for him to stay and lock up. Michael was slipping on his coat as he look to see Laura clearing tables of cups and dishes, "don't forget to lock the cafe up Laura. Keyria you ready to head out?" Michael asked after reminding Laura of she suppose to do, after getting his coat on he head toward the door and stop just beside it as he look back to see where Keyria was at, waiting patiently for her to come over to where he was.

Keyria finished wiping the table she was on, turning a smile to Michael at the door. Moving quickly to the counter, she set the cloth down and nodded. "Yeah, I can't wait!" She blushed a bit, having sounded maybe a little more excited than what she should have. She walked to the door, turning to give Laura a little wave as she slipped out.
