Film & storytelling are my 2 passions. I just love film, with all my heart. I decided to make a Thread I made on other sites here, letting everyone share their favorite moments in the history of film, based on any reason, or genre. They are the scenes that make us laugh, cry, and inspire us deep down as writers and story tellers.


I've compiled a top 10 list, but feel free to waver from this format as you wish.


10. The ending of
(Stephen King's The Mist)
Amazing movie... If you haven't seen it, you should.

9. Barry Champlain's meltdown rant
(Talk Radio)
Really dark, gritty comedic film. Eric Bogosian is a phenomenal actor who did an amazing job in this odd, but classic must-see. You have to watch this film if you have thick skin, and aren't easily offended.

8. Sammy's death
(I Am Legend)
Gets me every time.

7. The death of Optimus Prime
(Transformers 2)
A heart breaking, but honorable end...

6 Tommy's restaurant scene
(Goodfellas)
"You want a laugh. Last week this prick asked me to christen his kid."
Classic scene, classic film.

5. Coach D'Amato's "Inch By Inch" speech
(Any Given Sunday)
Amazing... truly inspirational.

4. Jules quotes Ezekiel 25:17
(Pulp Fiction)
"Say what again!"
Samuel L. Jackson, one of my favorite actors. Genius movie that's still before it's time, because kids don't get it. They don't talk about it, don't know what it is.

3. Frodo is reunited with the Fellowship
(Return of The King)
Powerful, moving scene. We all know Tolkien was a genius, but let's never forget Peter Jackson is a genius too.

2. Doc Holiday vs Johnny Ringo
(Tombstone)
"Why Johnny, you look like somebody just... walked over your grave."
Val Kilmer's performance as the legendary gunman, John "Doc" Holiday in the 1993 film Tombstone is my favorite screen personality of all time, with an array of memorable quotes. Tombstone is modern western film at it's very best.

1. Littefoot's mother appearing to him in a cloud
(The Land Before Time)
I saw this movie in the theater as a small boy in 1988. That scene made me ball my eyes out to my mother's surprise, and I left that theater with a budding passion for story telling and film that has lead me here today.
 
I have to admit, my moving watching is rather limited. I think the best I can do is my top five.

5. I Am Legend
(When Sam dies)
Yeah, I cry every time

4. Mists of Avalon
(When Merlin dies)
I cry every time with this one too

3. Pitch Black
"Looks clear" Riddick says.
*Creatures burst over their heads, causing them to duck.
"I thought you said it was clear!?"
"I said it looks clear."
"What about now?"
Riddick looks over the edge then shrugs. "Looks clear."

2. Tales of Kama Sutra
(When the queen has slit her wrists in a suicide attempt and Maya is binding her wrists to save her.)
"I survived you, now you will survive me!"

1. The Avengers
"I am a god!"-Loki
*Hulk proceeds to whip the crap out of Loki*
"Puny god," Hulk declares.
 
Yea, Sam's death was so powerful and sad... Will Smith is just an amazing actor. God-damn was I Am Legend a performance out of him or what?! I'd rank it as his best, over-all, followed by Ali.

I love I Am Legend so much, that scene when he's screaming at Frank the Mannequin makes me laugh every time, but it's also sad too. What a beautiful movie. If you haven't seen The Omega Man, the original from 1971 with Charlton Heston, I strongly suggest it. Same basic scenario, Army Doctor Robert Neville has survived a viral outbreak and survives alone until meeting a group of survivors.

It was classic Heston, and a decent film over-all, although the infected came off more as a demonic cult, than zombie-like savages.

So so many I love, its really hard to choose.

I loved in Clash of the Titans when Draco says "Let them know men did this".

I adore that part of the movie.

Another great movie was the newest version of Planet of the Apes.

And also, because I love older movies, we can't forget from Dirty Dancing "Nobody puts baby in the corner"

Yeah, I have bunches more but have to stop and think on them a bit.

every time I see I cried.....I cried.....I always know it is coming...I still see it and cry......Oh Nelson...I really miss you.

And from the same movie...the last scene...When Tom Hanks standing on a road crossing.

From "What About Bob". I love it because it's pretty much a running joke in my family that I'm Bob Wiley with my ridiculous fear and insurmountable anxiety problems. XD

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, the first morph sequence. I remember the first time seeing this in the theater with my dad, I totally lost my mind. Still, to this day I can't help but smile in seeing any scene from this movie. I played the VHS to death

Batman: Under The Red Hood, the final scene. Such passion, such angst. This whole movie is incredible, the story is why I think Red Hood is one of Batman's greatest foes/allies. A true antihero.

I Am Legend.. have to agree with Sam's death. so freaking sad. you can kill a person and Im fine, but the minute a dog dies, I am tears! tears I say!

My fave scene from my fave movie ever. Ive seen it more than any other movie and I never get tired of it..

Simba has finally realized his place in the Circle of Life after defeating Scar. The water and rain I believe symbolizes him leaving his past behind as he ascends Pride Rock, he ascends his throne as the proper king. The circle of life is a harmonious symbol in this movie. All things of the past must be left behind so the future can begin anew, just as the Pride Lands returned to life.

The animals rejoice as things begin to return to peace and harmony. Elephants, monkeys, giraffes, zebras and lions alike. It really goes to show that we are all connected in the great circle of life.
 
The Dark Knight, in which Batman interrogates the Joker. BEST. SCENE. EVER.

I really dont watch TV or go to the cinema, there is only overused crap there anyways. Nevertheless I have a favorite film scene: The ending scene in Rubber (by Monsieur Oizo) where the telekinetic tire gets reborn as a tricycle and makes a guy in a wheelchair blow up.
