In the quietness of the single bedded room, Arkmer looked through his earnings for the month. Winter was nearing. Thus, travelers would best settle in certain locations taking part in the trade market. One major city market was not far; no more than a league away from the inn but much cheaper to live in. None ever harassed another during their stay. Why would one even bother? A place where none judge another was ideal for stress release and thus, a 'paradise' for most. Very sociable meetings occurred often from the locals and how profitable that was to Arkmer.
"3 pounds less this month. I suppose I must wait..." he said as his BIG hand reached over for his pen. He wrote the note and counted his profits for the last month of fall season. His room was well designed to his liking: high class, artistic, warm, comforting, and of course, private. Only one window that faced to the eastern lands where as the road laid on the side that faced the western lands.
Turning to the door, he stood up and walked over while pulling his hood over his face gently. After a few seconds....
*knock-*
He opened it gently without allowing the knock to finish.
"Ah sir-" the man said by surprise.
"Ah I see you brought my dinner. Thank you Tomas." Arkmer said smiling (although hidden* as he took the tray of food. Normally Arkmer would wear gloves to hide his 'odd traits', however, his relationship with Tomas was beyond trust after the two years they spent at the inn.
"Pleasure's all mine sir!" he said smiling and bowing. "I take it that you'll be busy for the rest of the night? Reading interesting tales?" When Arkmer nodded only slightly, he finished with, "Then a good night to you sir!" while smiling and leaving his employer to his business.
Arkmer smiled as he closed the door. (Such a strong man he's become since.) he complimented his inn boy as he sat on his table and began to eat.
