Tears ate at the honey eyes of young girl. Her rushed steps echoing in the harsh silence of the night. Time? It had to be midnight maybe earlier, She didn't know anymore. Not after her Stepfather stagger home from a bar in yet another foul mood. One that was always directed at her. Even though she did nothing wrong. And this night was no different. She was just readying for bed. When the large slam of the door signaled his return. Making every muscle within her petite feminine form. Her breath held as she listened intently on the sound of heavy stomps of his footfalls up the stairs.Shaking her head Eve didn't want to think on what happened. It only worsened the tears that began to fall quickly. It was freezing out. Slowing her tears for a moment. She's had enough. No more of his abuse. It ends tonight. Her breathing fogged out before her upon each rapid breath.
She came to a bridge, her destination. Walking silently to the bridge ledge, her eyes shifting to the water below. Was it as cold as the breeze that caressed her pale flesh, causing goosebumps to break along her smooth skin, and a small shiver to roll through her. Perhaps it was colder. Swallowing she brought her eyes to the view further off. She could see the city, and its lights twinkling like the stars above. the moon casting an eerie glow of its fullness. Between that and lone street lamp that actually worked within the area was all that illuminated her figure.
Sighing she gripped the ledge with iron clasped fingers, draining color from her knuckles.' This is the end, no more pain, no more abuse, no more being alone' she murmured to her self. Embracing the chill of a fall breeze that ran along the fine fabric of her night gown. Ruffling the skirt around her knees, and pushed on spaghetti strap down an exposed shoulder. Her blond hair dancing around her shoulders as well. Giving a moment, she closed her honey sets, fanning thick black lashes along the delicate rise of her cheek bones. Her lips parting in a release of breath. Calming the steady race of her heart before shakily began to pull herself up onto the railing of the bridge. One hand clasping around the street lamp post.
Tears continued to fall like liquid silver upon her cheeks. Her eyes opening as she gazed down to the black abyss below her. knowing that the chill of cold water, and jagged rocks await to finish her time upon this plain. snuffing out her life. With her mother gone, and all her school friends thinking she was gone, there would be no one to miss her. None. 'Good-Bye cruel world.' She breathed to herself.
