She didn't ask for it, but it happeed. Her family was rich and part of the politica system, high up in it, so she had a bodyguard. She was 21 but her father still insisted. Good thing he wasn't half bad looking orshe would have said hell no. She was till tempted to say no but with her dads political power, his family needed protecion apparentally so now, here she was.
He followed her everywhere. Right now Jayla was waiting in line at a Starbucks in the morning to start her day. Her wavy, long brown hair was sort of coppery in te sun. She had on a loose, wavy top that exposed her midriff a bit aswell as some skinny jeas and converse. It was a warm June day and she had to be at her job soon. Jayla laughed. Okay, not really. She was a photographer. A professional photographer and she would be taking a trip to New York soon for it.
Jayla sighed as she stepped forward in line.

Rayne was standing at the doorway of the starbucks store, watching everyone who walked in. He was paid to watch after Jayla, and he had no intention of losing her. Though, he saw no reason to stand in line behind her, so he stood by the only exit. his eyes were constantly double checking everyone who entered the store. his arms were crossed against his light brown jacket, his black t-shirt underneath it. he was wearing a pair of army cargo pants, giving him maneuverability and extra pockets for his collection. he didn't use guns. people would expect that. he carried knives. knives he could throw with ease.

Jayla waited patiently, feeling Rayne's eyes on her as she did. She was next in line. She stepped up and ordered her usual capiccunio and waited for it to be prepared. Once it was ready, she grabbed it and sipped on it, padding causally back over to Rayne ad raising an eyebrow. "Findanyone threatening at starbucks? Perhaps an erotic coffee consumer? Oh, did you want to check me drink for poison?" Jayla asked with a smirk. She liked to tease him on occassion because she still found his presense in general funny. Most people never assumed he was her bodyguard because they were uncommon, honestly, but, it happened.

"If you were poisoned, you wouldn't be able to ask me. i'd have you in the car, and the workers here wouldn't be breathing air." his words were sharp, causing a few eyes to turn to him. "and as for threatening people, the most dangerous person here is the goth chick pretending to hide her knives in her bra. Is there anywhere else you need to go to today?" he asked as he opened the door for her. he was blunt with his words, but with who he was, it was understandable. He didn't like his client. she was too..popular. she was the type of girl who went to malls often. ...a place she could easily be killed.

Jayla just nodded as he said all of this, unpahsed. She stepped out the door when he opened it for her. "Well, Valorye wants me at the studio by noon at the latest. I have some things I need to pick up at the library as well as at the house, something I forgot, and then we'll head to the studio." Jayla got into the passenger side of her Camaro. She drove sometimes but Rayne didn't usually prefer that, something about slower reflexes and he hadn't been kidding either. She sighed. He was so erious sometimes.

he stepped into the driver's side and sighed, starting up the car. This was definitely not his choice in cars at all. as with every other stop, he peeled out of the parking lot and merged onto the main road, driving her quickly along. he didn't like being her personal driver, but, if there was one thing about her he liked, he kept her Camaro well tuned. he headed for the library, the quicker stop before her home. he stepped from the car and helped her from her side, following her towards the library.

Jayla watched Rayne occasionally as he drove. She wondered what made him chose this profession. He certainly didn't act like he enjoyed it. She wondered if, perhaps, it was just her. She tried not to act too bitchy but se was a stubborn, independent and free person, she didnt like having the feeling of being babysat. She thought about this, silently musing as she headed into the library and over to the librarian. She haded her her card and got the books she had on hold, returning a few as well before heading to the romance section for a quick peek.

Rayne, as with the coffee shop, stuck out like a sore thumb. he glanced around the store, letting her wander. however, as she peeked into the romance section, he kept his eyes away. not his type of books. standing at the end of the aisle, he stood like a tower, watching the other people in the library go about their business. This was his line of work, and for the most part he was happy. but he didn't like the idea of protecting a free spirit. she had a life to live. and Rayne's life from now on was to make sure no one hurt her life.

Jayla looked at theNicholas Sparks books but her eyes roamed when she spotted "50 Shades pf Grey" ahe grabbed it and went to check it out before she placed her books in her bag and headed over to where Rayne was. "Did you wamt a book to read?" She asked him politely. She loved reading immensely and never could understand when others didn't. She wouldnt mind if Rayne read, it would mean a little more privacy perhaps.

"I have a book i'm reading." he replied, and started heading for the door. "and be prepared. E. L. James goes into great detail." he commented at her book choice. Rayne wasn't a book person. however, when he was waiting between jobs, he did have a book he read. he read it alot. he never got to the last page though. putting her books in the back of the car, he started it up, heading her towards her next stop. He would have liked to take her home and leave, but she had a life, and he had a job.

Jayla watched as they pulled up the the house, her nice sized house. It was fairly large for a single girl, but she liked it. She had a butler, too, which was amazing. One advantage of being rich.

Jayla padded into the doors and headed into her room to grab her forgotten backup drive as well as drop off her books and grab a memory card. She packed it all into her protective camera bag, strategically of course. Before padding back downstairs.

Rayne walked with her towards the house, but waited by the front door. he knew the butler, no one would risk Jayla's life in broad daylight. He didn't care for the house, simply because it was too big. one stealthy intruder, and she was gone. But, he couldn't say he didn't want such a house.

As she returned, he gave little concern for the lack of books. why take them to the studio? returning to the car, he glanced at her before driving off. "Have you ever considered owning a less flashy car?" he asked as he joined the main roads. "Your Camaro is nice, but it's also something alot of people drive." this wasn't the first time he had asked. he hated the Camaro not because of the car, but because of the owner.

Jayla glared at him. She knew his reason for asking. He was being rathersnarky today. "Have you ever consideredremembering your place? I am the employer, you are the employee, stop asking questions!" She snappped.

Jayla wasn't usually bithcy but, she was feeling... needy today, in various ways and it made her cranky. She didnt like being cranky either, which didnt help the situation.

Rayne gave no response back. he didn't seem to flinch at her snapping. he knew his place, and he knew when she was cranky. her parents had explained that part.

"Is there anything you want while you're in the studio today?" he asked, ignoring her rule. if it pushed her again, he'd stop asking. the studio refused to let him in, so he often kept deals with the studio. she'd be safe if his knives were left away from the building.

Jayla sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. She was glad for the atudios policy all of a sudden. She felt stressed and she wasnt sure why.

"No, no I'll be fine. I'll text you if anything comes up," she told him dismisively, waving a hand at him while she continued to have her eyes cosed, resting her face on her elbow on the window ledge now. She wondered what she needed to get done today. If it wasntmuch, she considered working fast and taking of early perhaps and then taking a nap. Yes, a nap sounded great.

Parking in front of the studio, he let her out and watched her walk in before parking the car. there, he left the car and went to the door of the studio. he couldn't go in, but he could stand outside it. She wasn't in a good mood, and he didn't like it. when people are upset, they get careless. Part of him often wondered why he was so diligent with her. he rarely had her out of his sight. he wasn't sure why. he simply chalked it up to his love of his work, and his need to succeed.

Jayla sighed as she checked in with Abbey, her boss, before she went to help with a customer and some professional photos. It meant having to go to their location, but it wasn't too far out. She told them what her vehicle looked like and they discussed the place and what they wanted accomplished before they headed outside. She padded past Rayne and got into her car, driver's side. She locked the door and smiled at him. "I'll be fine, we're going to their land. They don't want more company then needed so I'm gonna go alone," she told him simply before driving off after the couple's car.

It didn't take long before they got to the land and she parked her nice car in their driveway, then they took a Gator, with all her equipment, out to the spot they wanted. Jayla set up and began to help them with poses under a tree they had their names carved into. It was wedding pictures. They were also going to go down by a pond and some railroad tracks in the back of their land. She was excited, she loved location shots.

While Rayne gave her no arguement, he watched her drive away, his eyes glued to the car. she may have drove alone, but she wasn't going to leave his sight.

nothing seemed to occur when they moved to the locations, getting the shots they wanted and looking as happy as ever. however, there was almost a tingling feeling to them, like someone was watching. Then again, they did have a camera pointed at them.

As Jayla helped the couple along with poses and the like, she felt the odd sensation of being watched. She wrinkled her eyebrows a bit, her thoughts trailing to Rayn shortly after the realization of this sensation. He couldn't have followed, despite it being his job... though he was rather good of keeping her in sight whenever she didn't want HIM in sight.

Jayla sighed. He did a good job, honestly and even though he was nice looking: good body, pretty face... gorgeous eyes.

Jayla felt herself become a bit aroused and she subtly realized that she was attracted to him. Since when? But the thoughts didn't leave her mind, deapite her confusion. She tried to focus on work but was very autopilot as they finally got to the railroad for the last few shots. Her smile was automatic as she thought about her bodyguard's nice body.

as she continued to finish the photo shoot, Rayne sat upon a tree branch, picking apples and checking for holes. he didn't eat them, he simply pocketed them. if she took too long he'd need food. While he was paid to watch his client, he did notice one thing about her. he liked her curves. He didn't often think about his clients sexually, but he couldn't say he didn't find her very attractive. it was easy to see why she would need a visible body guard. great face, young body, bright lively eyes.

at the photo shoot was beginning to end, Rayne left his tree and began to head back towards the gator, and then back to his client's car. If he was on another mission..he'd find himself asking her out, a thought that made Rayne smile for once in his life.

Jayla was turned on by the end of the photo shoot. She road with the couple, and all of her equipment back to her vehicle where she loaded it all up. She saw some tire tracks by where her car was and she was a bit suspicious. Her thoughts went to Rayne and at first she was upset but then she thought of his looks again. She bit her lower lip. She would have to take the rest of the day off to maybe try and... convince him.

Jayla said by to her clients, reassuring them she could find her way back alone. She drove and called her boss and told her about taking off and she didn't mind. Then, she called Rayne. It went to voicemail.

"Look, I know you followed me. I don't care but, I thought I'd let you know I took the rest of the day off and I am going to that restaurant I like, the Italian one? Yeah, so, meet me there, okay?" With that she hung up and kept driving.

Rayne listened to the message she left and kept walking. He..didn't have his car nearby. arriving at the nearest main road, Rayne looked around, and kept walking towards the restaurant she liked the most. His mind thought of Jayla, but his mind was more focused on the tracks left when he left. whose car was there? what were they doing? his only thought was simply, it better not be involving Jayla.

after a good few minutes, Rayne arrived at the parking lot of the restaurant. no Camaro, he had gotten there first. walking in, he had the waiter set a table aside for his client and him, and he turned and walked out, waiting at the door for her.

Jayla pulled up to the restaurant and sighed as she parked, hopping out of the car and shutting the door. She locked it and looked around, only then did she notice Rayne. She smiled broadly at him, her thoughts returning as she walked purposefully over to him.

"Did you get us a table already?" she assumed as she paused in front of him, standing rather close with a grin soft on her face. She really hoped he would be up for this, god knew her body was. Jayla looked around the place and was happy to see it wasn't crowded. Of course, it wasn't really a normal meal time but the space was definitively a plus.

Rayne watched her park and said nothing until she spoke. he...had no real feelings about the restaurant. it was public, but what restaurant wasn't. at least he would be near her this time, so he could keep his eye on her.

"Of course." he replied, and took a mental step back, curious as to why she was standing closer to him then normal. in fact, most times she didn't seem interested in even being near him. but he said nothing of it, and opened the door for her to walk in first.

Jayla nodded and stepped into the building and looked around. She saw a tqo prson table with menus at it and no people. "That ours I assume?" She asked Rayne curiously. Her mind was racing with questions and methods. She really wanted this. She waited for him to answer.
