Hello all he who enter here, this is an idea that's been stirring in my head ever since
I saw The Dark Knight Rises for the second time:
I have a theory about Blake's future. When I first saw the movie I thought he would become Robin or (since Robin is more of a sidekick rather than a stand alone hero) Red Robin (Tim Drakes identity after being kicked out of the Robin gig). While it would be plausible I remembered one thing, in the ending scene Gordon got a brand spanking new Batsignal. Why would he get a new Batsignal if Blake became Robin, wouldn't he need a Robin Signal then? So I am in firm belief that Blake does take over as Batman, but due to the lack of training that Bruce had Blake is going to need something to help him with that. He's going to need a new Batsuit since we don't know what Bane did to the first one and I'm assuming Buce took the one he had on when he faked his death with him. The new Batsuit that Blake would get would need some new stuff to help Blake out with his street brawling style. With all of that in mind I have a feeling that John Blake will become Nolan's version of Terry McGinnis and therefore Blake will become... Batman Beyond.
If you stuck with me this far, good on you! So this idea wouldn't be in a Neo Gotham setting like in the cartoon, it would be in the Nolanverse picking up right after The Dark Knight Rises. Blake would take over the role of Batman, like Bruce intended, just with a new Batsuit and gadgets as well. From this theory of mine a multitude of ideas open up. If you are interested you could play as a Nolanized Batman villain like Poison Ivy (I have an idea for her), Harley Quinn, or just an OC villain you want to put into a story. If you aren't set on the idea I have I would be open to playing Blake as Robin, Nightwing, or even Red Robin.
