Rafael woke up to the misty grey light just before dawn, the sort of sky that foreboded rain and looked as though the heavens would open at any second. The air was sticky and hot and he rolled over in bed, groaning and sitting up slowly. His head is aching, no doubt a product of the humidity, and he wondered if he’d have time to grab some Aspirin before heading out for the day. Glancing down, he realized he was butt-ass naked, frowning intently before twisting in order to look at his bedmate. Great. He’d fucked Jamie again.
He didn’t know why he was surprised. It had happened almost every night for three months now, and it wasn’t like he disliked it or anything. He just wasn’t gay, and waking up to another dude in his bed was a little disconcerting. He didn’t think he’d ever find it normal. Maybe he was turning homosexual? That wasn’t a pleasant thought. He reached over and grabbed Jamie’s arm, shaking him awake less than gently. “Man, it’s time to get up,” he said lowly, shaking Jamie again before getting up off the bed and making his way to the small bathroom off the side of the spot where they lived.
It was kind of an apartment, if the spot above a barn could be called an apartment. It had been cordoned off for the ranch hands, and while it had running water and a television and everything of the sort, it was still above a barn. Rafael splashed some water on his face and looked in the mirror, making sure he wasn’t sporting any marks from the previous night before washing his neck and shoulders. He didn’t feel much like taking a shower right then. At least he wasn’t covered in come.
He slid out of the bathroom again and walked to the dresser, pulling on a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt, his boots going on last. Now it was really just time to wait for Jamie.
