It had been rough, that was without a doubt. Alex had been out of the house for a few years now, but the vices and dramas of his family still seemed to haunt him. Ever since Alex graduated, his parents started to pull apart, and their relationship was quickly becoming that of two rival prize fighters, not husband and wife. To make matters worse, Alex's little sister was caught in the middle of it all, stuck in the no-mans land between mother and father.
Alex decided to do what he could, not to help his parents, but to save his sister from any further emotional or possibly physical abuse. He contacted one of his lawyer friends for advice, and was able to get his sister removed from the hostile environment. She was going to be staying with him for a while, at least until their mom and dad sorted things out or went through with the divorce. Whether or not they would get their daughter back relied entirely on how they behaved and how she felt. For now, Alex just wanted her to be safe, and his house/studio was one of of the safest. It was private and out of the way of most traffic and was more than sizable. Alex had gotten lucky with the work force right out of college, his employers giving him a very well paying job and a good amount of perks, like being able to work from home.
Alex, in his jeans and button-down t-shirt, stood in the lawn beside his drive way, waiting for his sister's taxi to arrive.
