Lucas leaned against the door frame and ran his gaze across the party in full swing. The high school party, Once the highlight of his existence now seemed little tame. After two years of college frat parties and drunk sorority girls the crowd before him seemed dull and lifeless. Sure the girls were young and cute, But they were far to reserved and they were definitely wearing far to much in the clothing department. All in all he was board out of his mind, twice he had tried to strike up a conversation with some passing skirt only to be shot down with a look that left him feeling like some seedy old man at a children's party.
Granted he was older than everybody else here, But he was only 20, Barely two years older than most of the people here, Surely that did not make him some kind of pervert did it ?. Fair enough his 5'10" frame no longer had the washboard abs of his high school days, When he had been Capitan if the football team, But he was hardly out of shape. His dark brown hair was closely cropped but it showed no signs of thinning or grey. No he wasn't some dirty old man, these Kids just made him feel like one.
Grabbing a fresh beer from the cooler he made for the exit. The evening air feeling cool after the blistering heat of the party. His feet instinctively found the path home as his mind wandered, trying to work out just when exactly he had transformed into the one thing guaranteed to ruin a high school party, An adult.
His feet came to a rest, Snapping him out of his thoughts. He found himself standing beneath the old tree at the edge of the driveway, His green eyes caught a flicker of movement in the shadows. He watched as a figure dashed across the lawn and began to climb the trellis with practiced ease.
He was about to sing out, As he watched the figure scurry across the roof of the porch and make a beeline for his Sisters bedroom window. The soft glow from inside light up the figures features and he was surprised to see the the figure was that of a girl. Curiosity stayed his voice, As he watched her tap lightly on the glass, before clambering inside as the window slide open. He stood routed to the spot his gaze fixed upon the shadows cast against the bedroom wall, Watching them entwine with one another.
Slowly he crossed the lawn and let himself inside, Carefully making his way up the stairs. He paused outside his sisters door, Straining to hear what was going on inside. The wooden barrier masked most of the sounds, but he could make out a soft moan, a gentle sigh and a steady rhythmic creek coming from the bedsprings.
With a silent smile he tiptoed along the hall, slipping into his own room he lay down on the bed, As his eyes closed pictures began to flash across the inside of his eyelids as his mind began to make up his own version of what was happening in the room next door.
As sleep began to take him and the last if those pictures flashed through his head, He noticed something he had failed to notice since he got home.
His Sister was not a little girl anymore.
