Moving day at last! That's exactly what was going through Dante's mind as he drove up to the college he went to. He had been going here for nearly three years, in fact, this was to be his final year. To celebrate it, he decided to stay on campus for a change. And for the full college effect, he signed up to be paired with a roommate. Exciting! So with a spring in his step, he exited his old, blue Mercury Sable, grabbed his messenger bag and a box, and started inwards, armed with the knowledge of which room (204) and the key. As he walked towards the stairs that lead up, he noticed how people were dressed. It was a slight hobby of his to note what people wore. He himself was kinda shabby. A pair of ripped, dark blue jeans, and a black short sleeve shirt with a very faded batman symbol. Most people had to get close to even recognize it.

By the time he reached the second floor landing, the excitement was almost worn out of him. It was a long staircase, and the climb wasn't helped by the other students who budged around him to get pass, or go down. When he reached the door, he was cursing himself for starting with his heaviest box, which contained his gaming supplies. He placed it down to fumble with the key for a second before pushing it inwards with his foot. He bent for the box and instead of going in forward, he went in backwards, turning and moving to the first bed he saw. He placed his box and bag down before sighing, his hand rising to move through his short, scruffy black hair. "Whew. Hope my roommate likes Smash Bros."

Annabeth pulled up into the parking lot, ready to start another year of college. She was currently majoring in English and Education, with minors of Music and Art. It was hard work keeping up with all of her lessons, but the young girl was dedicated. Annabeth Gordon was the type of student who always delivered assignments in on time and would rather sit quietly reading a book, than blasting out loud music from her dorm. This would be the brunette's third year in college and she had spent just as long staying in dorms. Her hometown was too far away for her to travel from every day and on campus living was cheaper than renting an apartment elsewhere in the city. So Annabeth had taken to dorms and roommates pretty quickly. The only thing difficult for her, was that every year she had a new girl that she had to try and get along with.

Luckily so far it hadn't been all that difficult, her first roommate had been the peppy, 'lets all be friends' type of person. Her second the brooding type, which although was kind of tense at first, it was better than having a roommate that always caused trouble. No; the second girl often just kept to herself, leaving Annabeth to her studies, so she couldn't complain. Her last roommate had been a girl only interested in partying. She had gotten on Annabeth's nerves from time to time, but still, since she was out a lot of the time drinking at some college party, she hardly ever saw her and was once again relatively left alone. This year Annabeth was hoping for a roommate that she could actually become friends with, it would make living together much more easier. You know how girls can be though, they're the hardest to live with.

The blue eyed female grabbed her bags from the trunk of her white Toyota Corolla and headed towards room 204. She'd come back for her boxes, which contained her books and other personal items, later. The girl couldn't carry everything at once after all. Annabeth wore a red and white, long sleeved checkered top, along with a pair of light blue skinny jeans and white sneakers. Her light brown hair was tied back into a low, loose bun. However several strands of hair remained free at the front, causing a small side fringe as it were. Annabeth was quite an average twenty-one year old. She was five foot six and about one hundred and twenty-seven pounds. Her skin was light but not overly pale and she didn't wear much make-up, simply because she saw it as a waste of time, unless she was going somewhere nice.

Her roll along suitcase banged against each step, as she practically had to hike to her room and the duffle bag over her shoulder cut into her from it's weight. No one really offered to help the struggling girl, they were all far too busy moving themselves in. Annabeth simply tutted and rolled her eyes once in a while, when someone shoved her without even saying sorry, did no one have manners these days? The bookworm eventually made it to her room and noted that the door was already open. The girl whom she would be sharing with must have already arrived. Taking in a breath, the girl headed on in with a pleasant smile on her face. Which quickly faded when she came across a male with dark hair standing there. "Umm... hi, can I help you?" Annabeth asked, clearly confused. Perhaps he was her roommate's boyfriend or just a guy who had helped the girl with her luggage? Annabeth was hoping for the second one, as she didn't want to have to put up with her roommate making out loudly with this guy for the whole year whilst she was trying to study.

Dante, or Dante Mochrie, was in this college for Animation. It was going quite well for him too. High grades and near perfect attendance. He only missed school twice because he got snowed in last winter, one of the reason he decided to finish his classes on campus. He began to unpack the box, pulling out an old N64 and a Nintendo DS. He called them study tools as his main goal was to be a video game animator. He then pulled out the newer console, a Xbox 360, but although he found it fun, he didn't play it as much as his older one. Perhaps the only reason he bought it was to keep sights on hos the media had changed. He placed the three items aside on the bed, and began pulling controllers out. He had two of each system's controller, as he intended to make friends who would play at least once in awhile. When he finished he stood up straight and stretched, his hand taking the time to move through his raven black hair. His hair was messy, but it was always like that, a natural look that only water fixed, and even then it was for a limited time. It was then he heard a voice behind him. Something was a bit wrong though, it didn't sound like a male's voice. Not someone who would be interested in hanging out, playing games and just doing whatever. Well sure, Dante wasn't ALL for being that lazy either. Studies first, than games. Either way, the voice the spoke was not male. Not at all.

He turned now to see the brown haired woman standing just inside the room. He was stunned just a little by her look. She was just a bit shorter, maybe by a full six inches, as he was a complete six feet tall. She was also skinner it seemed, relatively speaking. He himself was about two hundred and five, but it wasn't really fat, more muscle than anything else. Of course he wasn't bulging with muscle, but he kept in near perfect shape. Besides gaming he did job and do a few exercises. He had seen too many fat gamers to want to live that way. His green eyes took all of her in, and it was a good minute before he realized how creepy it would seem if he looked her over too much. That's when he voice returned.

"Um, oh, no, I'm fine. Just moving myself in." He nodded, plastering a fake smile onto his face. He was truly concerned though. Was there just a mix up, or was this how the college roomed people? It might've been the way she asked, but Dante felt sure this girl wasn't just confused about the room numbers, but he wasn't either. 204. He was sure this was the right room. He glanced towards the open door, just past her. The number was right there, although almost hidden behind the girl. He didn't turn away, knowing she'd probably bombard him with questions. People rarely took things as they were, and surely she'd think this was a prank or something. Well maybe. She looked intelligent, maybe she understood the situation more then he did.

Annabeth frowned a little, but not at the guy, she was merely confused about what was going on. She had attended this college for three years and each time she had always had a female roommate. In fact Annabeth hadn't even realized that they offered unisex dorms here in the first place! She turned her head to the door, re-reading the number upon it, she definitely had the right room. Two hundred and four, it was right there in big numbers just like on her dorm letter and key. This was one hundred percent her room, but the young man seemed to think that it was also his as well. He was quite a bit taller and bulkier than her, but the girl wasn't intimidated.

"Umm... is this a joke or something? You definitely have the right room?" She tried her best not to sound too annoyed when speaking. However after spending some time in college you soon realize that it isn't much different from high school. There are still jerks who think that they're better than everyone else. There is still peer pressure and there are still people who think that it's funny to pull lame pranks on people. Frat houses got attacked with toilet paper, sorority house fire alarms were set off when the boys thought that the girls might be in their underwear, you name it, it happened. So it wouldn't surprise her if some morons thought that it would be clever to get a guy to pretend to be her roommate, just to see how much she'd freak.

"No joke." He replied. Dante started to frown now, mostly because she was. "I'm positive." With that he turned and moved towards his messenger bag. He dug around, pulling out a few notebooks and random papers, before pulling out a sheet that was folder twice like a letter. As he opened it, it showed the school's logo on the top. "To Mr. Dante Mochrie, Re: Housing. We are glad to inform you that you have been granted access to the West House dorm rooms, Room 204. Enclosed is instructions on where to pick up your key, as well as a sticker for your car to permit it access to campus parking. Thank you for attending." He turned back to the girl, holding the paper. "Here, see for yourself." He held it out, just in case she didn't believe him.

Dante was trying his best to be complete civil about this. No yelling, no needless name calling. Civil. Like two adults. Sure this was college, a place no better than high school, maybe worse since most people drank more in college, but that didn't mean they could work this out reasonably. Beside, if he made a bad impression and they really were roommates, he'd want to be known for being nice, not rude. He watched her, trying to see what her next actions would be. Hopefully no screaming for help or anything.

Annabeth watched as he went rummaging through his bag. He then read out the letter and passed it to her. The girl took it out of his hands gently and scanned through the writing quickly. There it was, in black and white, it was pretty much the exact same letter that she had received when signing up for dorms yet again this year. However the girl was still confused, she turned it over and began reading the small print which contained the terms and conditions. Then there it was, right at the bottom. "Students should note that this year the college will be implementing unisex dorms as a trial run!"

It finally all made sense, this whole boys and girls sharing a dorm thing was new this year. However because Annabeth was so used to the dorm terms and conditions, she hadn't bothered reading them this year to see if there were any changes. Clearly there were, especially this big one! "Right" she said to herself, handing the letter back. "Thanks and sorry, didn't know if you were trying to play a prank or something." She replied with a weak smile, before heading to the bed that was left over for her. Finally she could put down the heavy bag that was over her shoulder.

Annabeth placed it onto her bed and rolled the suitcase to the foot of it. "So... I'm Annabeth." There was no point screaming or yelling and also no need. This guy seemed alright enough, though Annabeth wasn't much of a fan of video games or consoles and it was kind of hard not to notice the collection of them on the boy's bedside. The girl was a little dubious about how this room sharing would work. Again though there wasn't much that she could do. She had tried switching dorms once before and was told that all roommates were fixed for the whole year unless it was an emergency, such as an assault or something.

With a comforting smile now, Dante took the sheet back and nodded to her. "Hey, it's all good. No one got hurt or yelled out, and I understand. Some people can be jerks with pulling pranks, they never grew out of high school I suppose." He chuckled, turning back to his stuff and putting the paper away. Nest he then brought out his laptop and set that beside his games. He stared at them for a minuted, deciding that she might not really be into that. Well, that was sexist thinking at least. He'd ask later, but he'd at the very least try not to disturb her if she wasn't into it. Hearing her speak again, he turned towards her again and grinned. "Dante. Well, I suppose I already said it. But, nice to meet you."

He paused, unsure of what to really say next, but this was probably due to the fact that it just fully dawned on him how serious this was. The whole school year would be spent living with a girl. Now he wasn't expecting anything to truly happen, other than a wave here and there. Chances were they would rarely see each other. He glanced towards the door instead, remembering he still had a few things to grab from his car. But it'd seem rude to leave now for them, maybe when she left for more, if she had more. "Uh, so... what're you.. majoring in?" He turned again, only to finish unpacking, but he glanced towards her to show he was paying attention.
