It was a cool morning, the sun had only been up for a few hours yet the market was as busy as it always was. Pets stalked in their cages, chickens shrieked and squawked as they tried to stay out of stomping feet, pigs squealed and stall owners called to prospective buyers, selling everything anyone could ever need or want. For most of the city Life existed only in these small markets that popped up every few days where people could buy what they needed to survive, and for the people who ran the stalls it was their livelihood at stake. One young man, had no worries about a persons livelihood, he was there because he was bored, and a little lonely. He was the Young Prince Zarek Bloodhaven, future King of Rathereth. He was a well known, and very powerful young man, famed for his works of art in spell-making, and artistic magic. He was a flashy, showy Wizard who just so happened to someday be ruling the entire kingdom.
He strode through the market, uncaring that whenever someone noticed him they stopped and bowed, his Wizards cape flaring as he walked, every step a firm tap on the hard dirt as his silk and gold lined robes shimmered in the light of the market. He was a very handsome young man, with an unusual appearance, his eyes red from the blood magic he often toyed with, a mark on his forehead etched into place from a Demon he had once annoyed. He was powerful, and he was dangerous, and he was headed straight for the Pet pens. Several owners came forward to great him, asking him what he wanted in a pet, but Zarek silenced them all with a look and a stern word and started wandering the cages, pausing in front of one in particular... she was rare, he knew it. Both Unicorn and Dragon blood coursed through her veins according to the sign that hung from her cage. She was pacing, back and forth and his ruby eyes watched her intently as she stalked back and forth, her hair shimmering in her cage, her multicolored eyes making him shiver.
He was Prince Zarek, and she was the rarest creature that he had ever seen. What did a person have to do to combine Dragon and Unicorn bloodlines into a human!? And she was so gorgeous, there where no horns, or tails, strange protrusions or awkward body shapes. She was almost perfectly human. “i will have her.” he ordered, the owner hesitating. “er... sir she's.. a might difficult to handle..” “i..will have her.” Zarek ordered sternly. 'how much!?” the price the owner listed was bordering the outrageous, but Zarek didn't care, he just handed the man the money and went back to staring at the woman, creature stalking back and forth in her cage. Did she speak he wondered? Did she understand what was happening? Was she intelligent? He didn't honestly care, so long as she was his. He muttered softly and flicked his wrist, a soft, so very soft collar wrapped around her throat, not tight, but certainly she knew it was there. A small, but strong chain slid from the collar into his hand, and without heeding the owners warning, he broke the lock with his magic, and swung the door open, staring at her, slowly offering her his hand to help her out of the cage. “come on sweets.” he whispered soft, gentle. “we'll get you home, get you a nice hot bath and a nice warm meal.” he promised smiling at her as he studied her. “and a warm and cozy bed...” what slave wouldn't want that!?
