Where The Fight Takes Me
21-year-old Jake Young was just getting changed after a training session at his dojo, the Penbrook Martial Arts Academy. He had just been promoted to 1st Dan, which is 1st degree black belt, a month prior. As such, he tended to do more of the teaching now than his sensei, and worked out with the students to keep himself sharp. After bowing to his sensei and dojo, he walked out the door. As he was heading to his truck that was parked in the alley next to the dojo, he heard some scuffling and grunting. He placed his black gi in the truck, then went over to investigate.

Kira Lennon was walking to the local library, her large gray-blue eyes alight with excitement. She was so excited in fact that she decided to take a short cut through an alley way. This, she later realized was a horrible mistake. Just as she passed a dumpster that smelled awfully grotesque, a man materialized before her. He wore raggedy dark clothing and a devilish smile. His face was scruffy and unkempt. Kira gasped as he pressed her up against the brick wall and pressed his grimy hand to her mouth. "Now just be quiet and we can have some fun," he snarled. With his free hand he grasped a strand of her long, wavy blonde hair and smiled venomously. Not obeying his command, Kira struggled against his grip and screamed. Due to his thick palm however, her screams were terribly muffled. Now angry, the rapist took his other hand and shoved up her plaid skirt. Tears sprung from her liquid eyes with the realization of what was about to occur. Suddenly, footsteps rang in the alley and as Kira looked over she found a man around her age walking towards them. With new-found hope she screamed again and struggled, her eyes pleading for help.

As Jake got deeper into the alley, he heard a scream. He saw what looked like a homeless man pressing a young female against the wall. He stood a safe distance away.
"Let her go, man."
The homeless turned to him and waved him off.
"Beat it, kid."

Jake stepped forward and pulled the guy off of her, before tossing him a little ways toward the main street. When the homeless man had regained his balance, he had a switchblade in his hand.
"You shoulda minded your own business, boy."
When Jake saw the knife, he took on a seishan stance, which is very similar to a boxer's stance. As he moved closer, the guy began slashing at him with the knife. He moved back a bit to dodge the blade.

When the next slash came in, Jake moved to a forty-five degree angle and grabbed his wrist. He then twisted the wrist in a wrist lock, causing the knife to drop to the ground. To apply more pressure, he pressed his hand against his elbow joint in a joint lock. To make sure that there would be no more trouble, he kicked the homeless man under the chin to knock him out before letting him slide to the ground. Jake then approached the shaken young woman.
"Are you okay, miss?"
