It was dark, cold and wet outside, perfect weather to match Mirabelle's mood. Her parents pretty much disowned her when she came out of the closet, and gave her just enough time to find a place and get out, but nothing had turned up. That was a week ago and now she was walking through the dark city streets turning uneasy glances towards any stray sound or shadow that moved in her vision. She was tired and alone, none of supposed friends would help her, and no passerby wanted anything to do with the squalor girl. She had no money and just the clothes on her back, and what few things she could fit into her backpack. She looked around cautiously trying to find herself a place to sleep for the night. Slowly she stumbled towards a bus stop, hopefully getting some shelter in case it would rain again.
She sat there for what seemed like an hour or 2 waiting, hoping for some generous passerby, and yet she was still alone. Her vision was beginning to fade from exhaustion, and hunger was making her stomach growl. Mira was despairing, and teetering on an edge that she didn't want to go over. Thoughts raced through her mind around jumping into traffic or pulling her knife out and ending her life, and even now she found herself resisting such thoughts, but for how long. Slowly she looked around, one last time, a blurry figure coming into view. "W-who's there?" she asked weakly turning to see who was coming towards her.
