It was the first morning in six months that Alissa had woken up without her boyfriend Cameron laying next to her. Well, ex boyfriend now. She sighed, pulling the blanket around her tightly, having no intentions of getting out of bed until she absolutely had to. She wasn't happy that she had broken up with him, after all, he had been the love of her life, but lately, it just seemed like he caused her more pain than happiness. Every little thing she did irritated him and vice versa. The two of them clashed, and as much as she cared about him, she couldn't stand the fighting. It wasn't healthy for either of them to continue with each other.

When they first started dating, things had been great, but after he moved in with her was when their relationship started going downhill. At first they only fought about things that mattered, such as bills. But with time, they began to argue about anything and everything, whether it was about who was supposed to empty the dish washer or who's fault it was that they didn't have milk. Anyone else would've ended the relationship by that point, but something kept her holding on. It wasn't until he started showing interest in other girls that she decided she'd had enough. It was never anything major, or at least that she knew of, but Cam was always flirting with other girls. Even in front of her. At parties, when they went out with friends. Of course, his flirtatious ways resulted in even more fighting, and it got to the point where she just couldn't handle it.

It had taken a lot of courage, but when he came home from work the day before, she told him that she could no longer be with him and that he needed to get his things and leave. It had pained her to do it. Truthfully, she didn't want to lose him, but she couldn't handle the way he acted. He had left in a fluster, not even bothering to take his things, so she knew he would be back. She just hoped he would wait until she wasn't home to come get his things. She didn't want to have to see him. It would only make things harder than they already were.

It was around ten in the morning when Cameron woke up on his friend Jay's couch, the night before had been a long one. Cameron had just been dumped by his girlfriend Alissa and so far he wasn't doing too great, his friend Jay had told him he could crash at his place until he could find an apartment of his own. Jay had taken Cameron out to the bar directly after the breakup and the two got hammered well at least Cameron did. The funny thing was that even though he was a single man now he denied any woman that had approached him while he was at the bar, he just couldn't stop thinking about Alissa and how much it hurt when she had told him to leave. Cameron could admit that things weren't going to well for the two and that they fought way more then they should've but he had never wanted the relationship to end. In all reality he didn't blame Alissa for kicking him out after all he did start flirting with other women right in front of her and he even was bold enough to ask for a woman's number while Alissa was standing right next to him. All in all he was a total asshole to her and up until she broke it off he didn't care.

Cameron sat up and grabbed his head he felt as if he were hit with a truck, he slowly stood up and made his way into the kitchen where Jay was cooking breakfast. "Morning el drunko" ,Jay stated with a small laugh. "I swear if you had the money you would've drank all the alcohol in that bar last night". Sighing Cameron sat down at the table and looked at Jay, "At least I didn't black out" ,Cameron said in response. "Dude you cried it was hilarious" ,Jay said as he put a plate in front of Cameron. "Fuck you Jay I had a bad day and alcohol just intensifies moods so I cried probably because I drank while I was in a shitty mood" ,Cameron stated trying to make excuses. "Yeah whatever Cam it's ok" ,Jay responded as he made his own plate then sat down. After the two were done eating Cameron took a couple tylenol and grabbed his car keys. "I'll be back Jay I have to go pick up my stuff from Alissa's house" ,Cameron stated right before making his way out the door.

When he pulled into the driveway he sat there for a moment trying to muster up the courage to go inside. Cameron wasn't looking forward to seeing Alissa, even though he loved her and knew he was the one that fucked up royally he was still hurt. After about ten minutes Cameron got out of the car and shut the door, he made his way up to the house and knocked on the door. He didn't want to just walk in even if he had a key, it was Alissa's house and he no longer lived there so he felt it would be wrong to just walk in. Cameron began to try and pull his key to the house off of the key chain as he waited for Alissa to open the door.

After an hour or so, Alissa finally gathered the motivation to get out of bed. 'Moping won't make this easier.' she thought to herself as she walked into the bathroom. Glancing up in the mirror, she took in her reflection. Her dark hair hung loosely to the middle of her back, her tan skin glowing. She had a tiny, firm body, and curves that most girls would die for. Overall, she was just a naturally pretty person, but at that moment, she was looking kind of rough. It was almost as though the life had been drained out of her, a sad expression lingering on her face, her eyes red and swollen from crying. She sighed as she took note of his toiletries on one half of the sink. His side. Her eyes filled with tears once again, and she had to look away.

Trying to keep herself composed, she got into the shower, turning the water to the hottest setting. At first, she didn't even wash herself. She simply just stood under the water, allowing it to help her relax. It certainly didn't fix her problems, but it did make her feel a little better. After a few minutes, she got herself cleaned up and got out. She hadn't even had the chance to dry off when she heard a knock on the door. Though the shower had relaxed her, she grew tense again as she realized it was most likely Cam at the door. Slipping her bathrobe on, she made her way downstairs, debating whether or not she should answer the door. She knew she was going to have to face him eventually, but she just wasn't ready. Not yet.

She went over to the door, walking quietly so he wouldn't hear her footsteps. Looking through the peephole, she realized that her suspicions were true. It was him. She quietly took a few steps back, sitting down on the couch. She knew she needed to answer it, after all he needed his things, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. Hoping he would come back another time, she ignored his knocking and refrained from letting him in.

Cam continued to knock loudly for a few more minutes before he figured that she wasn't home. He sighed then made his way back to his car and got inside, he shut the door then started the engine and backed out of the driveway, he kept the house key not wanting to just leave it on the doorstep. Cameron drove to a Dunkin Donuts that wasn't far from his ex's house, he figured she might not be home so he would grab a coffee then make his way back over in a little while. When he got to the Dunkin Donuts he walked inside and ordered a coffee and sat down at one of the tables to drink it. After he finished his coffee he decided to go and order another two coffee's one for him and one for his ex, he also ordered a few bagels with cream cheese. When his order was ready he paid the cashier then made his way out the door and back into his car. He put the two coffee's into the cup holders and placed the bag with the bagels on the passenger's seat. Cameron let out a sigh as he looked at the empty seat.

When he got back to his ex's house he got out of the car carrying the coffee and breakfast and knocked on the door again. "Open up I brought you something to eat, I'm just gonna grab my shit and go you don't even have to talk to me" ,Cameron shouted through the door after he knocked on it hoping she would hear him.

She felt relieved when he finally left, but then again she knew she would be back. She just needed to prepare herself. Then it would be easier to face him. Though she had told herself she was going to try and act positive, she couldn't help but just sit around and mope. She remained where she was on the couch, curling up into a ball as she laid there and thought back on all the good times in their relationship. There was no doubt she would miss him, miss all the times they shared, but he had been acting so horribly to her. As much as she loved him, it just wasn't worth it.

When he came back, she was still in the same spot as before, still dressed in only her bathrobe. She had drifted off about twenty minutes after he left, but she was wide awake as soon as she heard the knock on the door. Sitting up slowly, she rubbed her eyes, sighing as she realized he would just keep coming back. Even though she wasn't prepared, she had to face him sooner or later. And he was right, she didn't have to talk to him. Walking over to the door, she opened it hesitantly, looking up at him for a moment before stepping back inside, not saying a word to him. It would be easier that way.

When she finally opened the door and let him in he said nothing he simply walked past her and placed the stuff he had bought on the table minus the coffee he had bought for himself. Cameron took a sip of his coffee and looked at Alissa briefly before walking down the hall and into what was once their room. He set his coffee on one of the dressers then made his way over to the closet and grabbed his gym bag and began packing his clothes into it. After he filled that bag he brought it out to the parlor and set it near the door then made his way back into the room. When he got back in the room he pulled a suit case out of the closet and continued to empty all the drawers with his clothes in them. He took another sip of coffee after he filled the suitcase then brought that out to the parlor and put it by the door.

Cameron made his way into the basement and grabbed his tool box and some cardboard boxes to pack some more stuff in. He made his way back up the stairs and put his tool box with the rest of his things. The more stuff he packed the more upset he got, as Cameron put a box together he looked at Alissa, "For what it's worth I'm sorry I know it doesn't really matter now but I just figured I'd let you know that I really am sorry for everything I was a jerk and you didn't deserve any of it" ,he stated. Cameron then remembered he told her that they didn't have to talk and fell silent. After he got the box put together he began to pack up all the game systems he had there along with the games and controllers. He felt like crying but held back not wanting to look like an idiot in front of his now ex girlfriend, Cameron took another sip of his coffee and set it down on the table as he continued to pack up more of his stuff.

After he went into the bedroom, Alissa walked over to the table, eying what he had gotten for her. Taking a sip of the coffee, she noted that he had made it just the way she liked it. It was a sweet gesture, something he had never done when they were together. Maybe if he had acted like this while they were dating, everything would be ok. It gave her a small piece of hope, making her think that maybe he could change. She immediately tried to banish the thought, telling herself that she needed to stay firm with her decision. She couldn't simply take him back because he had gotten her breakfast. So far, he had done more bad than good.

Grabbing the bagel and her coffee, she made her way back into the living room, turning on the tv to try and distract herself. She didn't want to think about how the next time she walked into their room, now just her room, his things would be gone. As she heard him walk back into the living room, she kept her eyes on the tv, not wanting to look at him. It wasn't until he spoke to her that she finally moved her eyes on him. She stared at him blankly as he spoke, looking away quickly as her eyes started to tear up. "You weren't sorry until it ended.." she said quietly. It was true. She had told him so many times that the way he acted bothered her. She tried to compromise with him to keep them from fighting, but it always just made things worse. She told him time and time again how bad it made her feel when he openly flirted with other girls, but he never cared. He was never sorry before.

Cameron should've expected the response he had gotten and he was an idiot to think he would've gotten anything more. He sighed then shook his head and walked back into the bedroom and sat down on the floor while he went through the things in the bottom of the closet. When he had finally finished going through all that and packing up what was his he again brought everything out to the front door and set it down. He did his best to ignore the fact that Alissa was sitting on the couch and that he had no chance of ever fixing things between them. After setting down the box in front of the door he made his way outside and opened his trunk then began moving the boxes from the house to his car, he still had a lot more to pack but he was trying to move things along as quickly as possible so that Alissa wouldn't have to deal with him longer then she should have to.
