Other: When situations get too tough, he slips into his own little "happy place" where he is a near-invincible cyborg called Maze (the reality is he's just suffering a psychotic episode, in which case he will drop whatever he is holding and stand ramrod straight, staring into the distance)

Weapons- Boot knife (right boot), Bowie Laredo knife (strapped around left thigh), Ghurka Kukri (special order from Cold Steel- first thing he ever bought with his own money, strapped to small of back), Remington 870 Pump-action shotgun (not experienced in it's use. A last-ditch weapon. May learn, in time, to use more effectively.)

Good traits: Loyal, loving to those he feels close to, sharp mind, curious about weapons/ tech (especially re-purposing them), easily likeable.
Brief History: Born 23 years ago to a loving, if troubled, mother and an almost nonexistent father in Atlanta, Georgia, David lived an unstable life in his early childhood. His mother tried her best to make her marriage work, but Archibald's absence made it increasingly hard on the woman. One day, his mother took David and his younger brother- Silas- and left the family home with little warning. Being only 6 at the time, David couldn't understand why his mother looked.... upset, almost terrified.
The broken family never stayed in one place too long, his mother drifting form job to job, home to home, trying to make a life for her children. Because of this, David and Silas never had too many chances to make friends- it seemed that just as they were settling down in one place, their mother would find another job or another reason to move, and as always, she had that same terrified look in her eyes. In light of the fact that he never had any lasting friendships, David's only friends seemed to be the books his mother would buy him- starting with easy reads such as the Velveteen Rabbit and eventually evolving into textbooks on various medical and scientific subjects and (unbeknown to his mother) comic books- primarily Batman, Spider Man, Deadpool, and the X-Men. it was a combination of this constant uprooting and the boy's voracious appetite for knowledge that led to his interest in the fields of engineering and robotics- consequently, this is why (as of the time of the invasions) David was already familiar with many kinds of major repairs to machinery and had been taking online classes to get an engineering degree.
They were in Cairo, Egypt when the two boys lost their mother. It was something David could've never seen coming, much less cope with at the time. His mother had taken a job at a consulate for the US government to support her children. David had taken a job as an automotive mechanic and Silas had begun to support the family by taking odd jobs around the city. While David and Silas- 21 and 19 respectively- were waiting for her outside the consulate, something rocked the very ground beneath their feet. Mortar fire was raining down from the skies, obliterating everything. Most of the consulate building was destroyed in the initial attack. The two siblings ran into the burning wreck, desperately trying to find their mother. As they rounded a corner to where they knew was her office, the two boys stopped dead in their tracks at the sight before them- bodies littered the entire hallway, most of them burned, some of them in a 'prayer kneel' from the fires, and a few unlucky ones still alive, thrashing around in an ungodly amount of pain, desperately clinging to their last remaining threads of life. The two began a frantic search for their mother, finding nothing, until they heard what sounded like her voice- ever so faint- coming from a nearby doorway.
Their mother was in a bad way. She had been seemingly ripped in half by one of the shells, surrounded by debris, her organs spilling out onto the floor as she fought to stay alive and see her sons one last time. A blood-choked gurgle came from her throat, her mouth struggling to form the words she knew she had to tell her children. She didn't last long. The goodbye was ridden with tears and carrion. The two later found the cause of the attack- a radical terrorist cell operating out of the Gaza Strip had deemed it their mission to "Liberate the land of Pharaohs from the western devil's influence" and had attacked the consulate. The US government did what they could, but in the wake of such a brutal attack against unarmed civilians, the rebel group- calling themselves the "Sword of Muhammad"- had managed to retreat into friendly territory.
Now, 2 years later, King struggles to survive in what will be the most trying experience of his life. the alien invasion caught the world completely off guard, and a majority of the population was destroyed like sheep to a slaughterhouse. just after losing their mother, Silas had decided the best course of action would be to find those who took their mother away and make them pay for what they had done. He had joined a rebel militia located in the outskirts of Alexandria, a group of survivors from the initial Cairo attacks dedicated on exacting revenge. His whereabouts are presently unknown. However, David still holds out hope that he is okay. At present, David is attempting to find his father and learn what he can about the man, see if his father can provide him with help tracking down the ones who destroyed his family, and get some answers from the man. Why had his mother seemed so fearful whenever she left a town? Where had Archibald been all these years? It is questions like these that David has had a burning desire to answer for almost 15 years.
