Background info: During the last few weeks when night would come Krystyn prayed but not to a force of light. In fact it was the exact opposite. She supposes it’s because she’s always felt more secure in the darkness and took comfort in it, unlike the light. Every time she’d pray she’d ask for one thing, her brother’s health. He became deathly ill in the last month, and he’s the only one she has left in her family. Her parents had left them when they were younger and told them to fend for themselves, so they had. Her prayer was always simple but full of emotion. “Please take care of my brother’s health. He’s all I have left, and I’ll do anything to see him well,”
Present time: Krystyn’s blue eyes hold the same depressing glint they’ve had for a while. Her head is still raised with pride, and her soft smile shows hope. Her fingers pry open the door that leads to her balcony outside. Her feet guide her to stairs that lead her downward and to the pond that looks as if it’s directly under the moon’s beams of light. She walks swiftly over to the pond and sinks to her knees once she reaches the edges of it, letting the water lap up at her skin. Tonight she feels the powerful vibe surrounding the water, as if something’s changed. Honestly, it makes her feel a little taken aback and frightened.
The breeze is strong, forcing her hair to move wildly behind her while her brother’s long, baggy shirt turns wrinkled , and her skin underneath it turns cold. Her mind believes she’s just imagining the dark aura around her seeing as the moon is full, unlike any other night. She takes a few breathes before letting the words out of her mouth. “Please take care of my brother’s health. He’s all I have left, and I’ll do anything to see him well,” her eyes are staring upward at the moon, making her feel as if some strength is given to her. “Dark vibe that I can feel all around my being, please help me. Oh come forth, someone and help me! I will do anything!” Her voice cries out toward the starry night sky while her eyes turn slightly wide, wondering what she just said.
