Strange forum message

Occasionally I'm getting a message saying,

'I'm sorry, but you are banned. You may not post, read threads, or access the forums. Please contact you forum administrator should you have any questions'

Then within a few minutes it clears and everything is fine again. Just wondering if it is a bug?

I'm not seeing anything about you being banned, and generally if you are banned it will last more than a few minutes. I'll look into it for you
 
Are you on a mobile device or dynamic IP? When we have to oust serious spammers, we typically toast IPs. Sounds to me like you got caught in the crossfire and your device was using one of those IPs for a brief moment. Rest assured YOU weren't banned.... the IP was. So when the IP cleared and a different one came into use, that was why it cleared up and you were able to get on.

Trust me, if YOU were banned, you would've gotten a message indicating a reason for it not something generic like that. And more than likely you'd have gone through a process leading up to it as well. Bans never occur willy nilly nor without GOOD reason. And chances are you'll know your offense and never be left guessing.

Thanks for that - much appreciated. Yeah - it was via a 3G connection, so that would be it. Good to know too that I wouldn't be a banning without any reason too. Having far too much fun here :)
