Deep in the woods, there stands a house on a hill, surrounded by the trees. Within its rotting walls, a dark ritual is about to take place of which no human should ever dare attempt. There is a man who has lost his innocence and peaceful way of life. For him, there is only one dream left for him. Revenge. It is his one and only motivation for continuing to exist in this world as he is. Since his youth, it has driven him to many specific arts of magic. For those who can achieve mastery over these arts are given the title 'Sorceror'. They are meant to use their powers for the benefit on mankind, but for this particular individual, mankind has become irrelivant to him. That's why he stole the book. The book of Summoning. Within its pages lay the specific order of words to bring about beings that are spoken of only in legends and should never exist in this world due to their dark upbringing. But, for the young man, this power is neccesary to carry out his task. For what power is greater than that of a demon?

The setup is atypical of a ritualistic summoning. A pentagram, drawn in the dust of ground bones, is meticulously placed along the floor, each point adorned with a candle who's wicks burn with a particular incense. The smell is thick and and the smoke slowly climbs to the ceiling, giving the room a particular aura about it. At the base, sits the man, legs folded, the book in his lap and opened to the specific pages he marked to read. At his side, his staff, carved from a magical branch and able to amplify the Sorceror's specific abilities. He gave a brief glance to the stick, knowing that if something went wrong with this summoning, he might need to use it at a moments notice. Fortunatley, he took care to make every detail laid out in the book as precise as possible so that there would be no mistakes, no errors, no failures.

He turns back to the pentagram once more, his eyes locked on the center. He clenches his fists a bit, his whole body tense in anticipation for what he was about to do. This is what he studied all those years for. All for this moment. If it succeeded, it would be a big step forward in his grand scheme for revenge. Preparing his body one last time, he turns to the words in the book and begins to read. It is an ancient language, one that the tongue of the normal man could not understand except through years of study. To translate, the words read as followed: "Come forth, demon of the underworld. A mortal calls you to this plane, to offer you life and freedom. See the path and approach with pride, doing your will upon the world!"

The room was dark all around as she preferred it, there were flames along the edge of her home, she was sitting a pool of water as she looked up seeing what looked like ribbon making it's way towards her, she smirked seeing it. She was being summoned, she looked more closely the ribbon was made of bone dust and fire, it was some one that sought revenge. She climbed out of the pool walking towards the ribbon, she slowly extended her hand wrapping her pale fingers around it, she was yanked out of her world and into the realm of the humans. She felt a tightness around her as she entered, she slowly emerged from the earth in the center of the pentagram, she stretched a bit as she emerged her arms over her head. The first thing to revealed were her hands and her head, her long gray horns curved from where they sprouted from the front of her skull back to the base of her skull, her long straight black hair fell down past her waist, barely covering her perfect breasts. She was slender and muscular, her shapely legs soon emerged from the earth as well as her bone like tail. She slowly opened her eyes revealing that they were sapphire blue.
Kieran looked over to see who had summoned her, she looked rather pissed that she was here, she stepped forward out of pentagram her pale skin seemed to glow in the candle light, she wore no clothes since they were not necessary in the deepest circles of the underworld. She moved towards the man who had summoned her "you are foolish to dabble in such arts and to bring me forth into this world." she said her very voice seemed to hold the heat of the fires of the underworld. She was one of the higher ranking demons in her world and to summon her was no small thing, many who did ended up dead. She had been summoned once before and she nearly destroyed an entire kingdom before they were able to send her back.
She lifted her tail to let the tip barely caress his jawline "so why is that you have brought me here?" she whispered as she vanished and appeared behind him resting her hands on his shoulders placing her lips close to his ear letting her warm breath trail across his skin. She was curious about this man he seemed as though he had purpose she might actually be interested in.

With every word the man spoke, he could feel the presence of the demon's aura full of evil and woe. The air seemed to become stagnant around him, so much so that you could cut the tension with a knife. Then, the incantation took its effect. The demon began to appear as if crawling out of a pool of darkness. More and more, the figure rose and it was soon apparent that despite the very non-human features, it retained a human-like, feminine form. From what he could see, she possessed the typical protruding tail and long, devilish horns that looked like they could impale with a single thrust. Her hair was dark and long, long enough to cover part of her nude form. As he looked into her beautiful blue eyes, he could tell that there was no sense of shame in them. She must have been comfortable in her nudity unlike humans who preferred clothing to cover their bodies.

So it was that the demon was fully released into the world of humans. She stepped forth towards the young man, speaking from a position of power that she had surely deserved if what he knew about demons were true. She called him a fool and as far as he was concerned, she was at least somewhat accurate with her statement. But fool or not, he knew that what he was doing was, in his eyes, necessary. He would go to any lengths to acquire power, even challenging the very being he summoned and subjecting it to his will should it choose to refuse him. But the way she now observed him, touching his chin with her tail and whispering into his ear, such a thing might not be necessary. Still though, he remained on his guard. Slowly reaching for his staff, he uttered his reply to her. "My name is Sol Gareth. I have brought you here today because I desire your power. I have a specific task to carry out and, as much as I despise your kind, you are the only ones I can turn to now to get the revenge that I have survived all these years for."

Kieran circled him playfully and kicked the staff out of his reach she wasn't stupid and had no desire to be attacked tonight "so let me get this straight you want me to let you have my power and to help you with your revenge. Now tell me why would I do that unless you have something to offer me in return. Now I can be reasonable, I just want something in exchange for my help." she said softly. She licked the skin of his neck tasting his flesh, she enjoyed being around humans they were so easy to figure out and to toy with. She moved in closer to him pressing her body against his "how about we make a deal I help you with your problem in exchange for your soul? Is my help worth your eternal soul?" she offered, she slowly back away from him, she could tell he was admiring her and she would change into a more human form once they had struck a bargain, so that she could blend in a bit better to help him complete his task.
She sighed and took her tail slicing her palm and held out her hand to him "do we have a deal?" she asked this would be a one time offer for him she did not often offer her help to humans, but he intrigued her. She couldn't believe he actually had the balls to summon her here. She smirked waiting for him to accept as she knew he would. She could use a new helper down her lair, her last one had grown so boring so she sent him deep into the pit. She hoped this one would last longer for her "and I'll give you a perk if you impress me enough I may even make you a half demon so you will have a power that is entirely your own" she offered to sweeten the deal for him.

Sol froze as the demon kicked away the staff he was reaching for. It seemed she possessed a level of awareness that not even he anticipated. Fortunately, he always had a spare weapon hidden in his coat, but rather than pull it out and risk everything going to hell, he waited patiently while she pretty much belittled him and left him with an offer to think over. As she pressed her body against his and pressed her offer further, the young man began to ponder the possibilities that such a deal could bring. Sure, he would have to give up his soul, but really, why should he remain in this world anyway? Everything was taken from him by that individual. There was nothing left to live for and thus, his eternal soul was but a small price for him to pay.

She came around him then and offered her hand so that the deal would be complete. But rather than take her hand right there and then, Sol rose to his feet and faced her with a look of determination in his eyes. "What I have now, or should I say, will have now is all that I need. Becoming one of your kind is not something that fits my interests. If you want my soul, you can have it." And with that, he shook the demon's hand to finalize the deal set forth before him. His grip was tight and forceful. He was truly a man who had 100% confidence in what he was doing. But when it came time to let go, he instead held on and inched his face closer to hers. He could smell the stink of evil just oozing from her and knew that what he would do next would be risky. But with nothing to lose anymore, it was something he was granted the freedom to do.

It was a simple warning. Sol's voice rang low and direct. "But know this. Don't ever cross me the wrong way. We might have a deal, but I know your kind are full of lies and deceit. If you pull some kind of stunt that puts me in a bad position, I won't hesitate to put you back in the hole I pulled out out from."

Kieran moved closer to him "you are a bold one I like that you will be useful once I have your soul now you wanted some power to help you along the way with your revenge" she said with a smirk, she slowly moved the tip of her tail to touch his forehead transferring some of her power to him "I think you will find this to be quite useful." she said as she playfully pressed against him were he a demon with that level of boldness he would do well. She looked around the room she playfully licked the skin of his neck "I don't do anything with out carefully planning. And crossing me would be even more foolish" she said and playfully ran her nail along the underside of his chin. She took a step back from him and turned a full circle transforming so that her horns and tail were hidden and she now wore a dark blue corset with a tan skirt sewn to the bottom "now that I have a disguise who is our target?" she said with a smirk. She moved back in close to him eyeing him "or would you rather have a bit of fun first. You look like you could use some playtime" she said grabbing the back of his head kissing him pressing firmly against him, she had been trapped in her own realm for too long with out access to anyone other than other demons, while they would help she found them boring they didn't crave things as humans did and that desire she fed off of it it was her favorite feeling she could sense from them. She pulled away from him walking away from him turning her back on him, she needed him to have that desire for her to feed off it.
She moved towards the corner leaning back against it wanting him to come to her, she figured they would both be able to think a little more clearly if all their needs had been met, she slowly slid the skirt up exposing the bare flesh of her thigh to him. She hoped he would be pleased with her human form she had used many times to blend in and corrupt.

Sol did not expect the demon's assistance to come so suddenly. Thus, his reaction was that of surprise when the tip of her tail touched his forehead and the power began to flow through him. To him, it felt...heavy, like a great burden was placed upon his body. Yet his muscles and conciousness felt rather refreshed, so much so that he would have fallen on his rear had she not been all over him the way she was. By the time he regained his bearings, he could see that the demon was taking on an even more human form. Gone were the tail and horns, replaced by a rather provocative blue corset and skirt that made her look like some kind of burlesque floozy. He would have found it a little attractive had he not known the lineage of the flesh that it covered.

Again, she continued to the young man, asking if he would prefer business or pleasure, but offering the latter as she placed her lips upon his in a passionate kiss. It was almost as if she could sense the very inkling of his feelings about her and for a brief few seconds, those feelings overcame him. Oh how he wanted to return her passion! He wanted to take her not as a demon, but as a woman who's value ammounted to that of a succubus. But no sooner did these thoughts cross his mind, the woman released him and backed away to reveal the creamy flesh of her thigh, perhaps in an attempt to seduce him even further. Sol stepped forward, almost ready to take the offer. But then he remembered his purpose for being here and the desire that overcame all others. To rid the world of the enemy that took everything away from him. Wiping his lips clean of her saliva, he replied with a sigh, "Perhaps another time. Besides, this isn't the place to indulge in such things. I would rather get down to the business at hand. You wanted to see the face of my target, did you not? Well look closely and burn this image into your head."

Sol took his staff once more, pointing the tip in the air and drawing like some kind of artist. The path which he drew began to light up like fireflies in a row. When he finished, the form of his target took shape and while it might not seem unusual to the demon, any human could tell how ghastly this form was with but a single glance. It had the upper body of a human male, strong and muscular. It's lower body, however had an odd, beast-like shape like a centaur. But instead of four hooves, the legs were six and webbed like a duck. At the end of each foot were three long claws that looked like they could tear the earth asunder with each step they took. But what made this thing most terrifying was the face, or lack thereof. Yes, it lacked any kind of facial features save for the mouth which held a sinister sneer that wouldn't go away even if the world around him burned and crumbled to dust. "Does this form seem familiar to you, demon?" Sol asked, curious to see what she thought of what she saw.

Kieran took a few steps closer to him watching as he drew her an image of her target, she recognized the image almost immediately though her face remained expressionless. She slowly circled him thinking for a moment "so this is the source of all your troubles. You who summoned me could not handle such a low level demon, that's just a little sad don't you think" she said tauntingly. She loved toying with humans they were so easy though he was doing better than most. "So we do have a lot of work to do" she said softly. She spun around and a new set of clothing appeared on her, a fitted pair of brown breeches, an off white tunic, and a pair of knee high leather boots. "is this attire more pleasing for this?" she asked walking around watching her surroundings. She walked outside inhaling deeply "Ah it feels good to back here I was getting so bored in my little pit" she said softly. She looked around last time she was in this world it had been so different now it seemed that they had moved so far forward. She couldn't believe and soon enough it would be quite easy to bring demons back into this world, she could taste the evil in the air and it was so sweet.
She kept staring ahead "We should get started we have much to do to get you ready. We have training, and I need to become more familiar with my new surroundings you wouldn't want you demon getting injured now would you?" she asked softly. She moved to study some of the new things, she was trying to remember the last time she had been set free, it had been during a time where they would now them ancient a time of great stone formations. Pyramids, obilisks, and temples now there seemed to be less of that. The building still seemed to be mostly stone, but it was of a different quality. She sighed heavily, she was so confused by this place but she would quickly learn to love it of that she was certain. She sat down on the ground feeling the warmth of the earth and cool of the wind. Life in the underworld seemed to be at a standstill no wind no change nothing exciting and she often found it to be quite boring.

It might have seemed plausible that Sol, an individual capable of summoning a demon the likes of which circled him now, would have trouble with such a creature, but times were different back then. He was but a child, unaware of such things as magic, sorcery or demons. How was he to defend against such an onslaught of evil and destruction? It wasn't until years later he began to train and even with that, he felt inadequate to the point where he would enlist the help of another demon. He remained silent to her taunting, only giving her a bit of a grimace as if he were only slightly annoyed. Before he knew it, however, she had changed appearance once more and stepped outside for what must have been the first time in a long time judging by her reaction. How sweet it must have been for her to taste freedom. It was something Sol believed he lacked thanks to the heavy burden placed upon his life up to this point. In his eyes, he wouldn't truly be free until that monstrosity was eradicated from the earth.

"I suppose," the young man replied as the demon stated that they get on their way. "I have a carriage waiting nearby. Don't dawdle her for too long, unless you want this dreadful area to be how you view this new world of yours." He walked past the demon as she sat, giving no worry as to whether or not she would follow him. As the barren trees were left behind him, so came a new, more healthy surrounding. Beyond was a winding road surrounded by lush green plains and farmland separated by stone barriers. there was a light fog out that left the sky slightly gloomy and cool. The birds were chirping, the trees came alive with the light breeze and the sun was trying desperately to break through the mist. This was the world Sol had known since birth. It would be a shame to leave it behind once his task was complete, but this was the price he was willing to pay for revenge.

On the side of the road stood a carriage as black as the horses that pulled it. It looked rather old, but it was quite sturdy for what he needed given what was inside. Rather than carry passengers, the young man preferred books. Piles and piles of books filled with the knowledge of ancient spells, world history and various literature for casual reading. All of these books had been read already in Sol's attempt to acquire knowledge to combat the beast wherever it may be.

Kieran made her way over to the carriage looking it over, it was very different from what she had expected. She did find this world to be so very odd, it had been she would guess close to a thousand years since she had been here on earth. She walked closer to the carriage "when we arrive at your home for you to prepare for this I will need food and wine. I have spent far too long in the under world and I have missed some of the spoils of this world. I want to enjoy myself for a bit before we begin" she said opening the door of the carriage and saw how full it was "I also wonder where you expect me to sit in this mess. No matter I'll take care of it" she said raising her hand snapping her fingers. There was a quick flash of fire and all the books and texts were gone, he did not know it but she had sent them to her home for when he came back with her. She then smiled proudly and climbed inside sitting down, it was not terribly comfortable to sit in but it would due for now. She Relaxed a bit back in her seat, "shall we get going?" she asked waiting for him to do what ever it was that made this thing work. She felt herself a bit tired but she would be fine she would just rest a bit when they got to his home where ever it was.

She tried to think about the last time she had been summoned she remembered being treated and worshipped like a god, she had loved it then, until a member she had banished figured out who and what she was. She remembered that she was nearly destroyed here and had had no choice but to return to her home. It had taken her nearly a hundred years to fully recover from had happened to her. She remembered how she had spent almost half of that time just sleeping. She did miss that life though being waited on hand and foot in exchange for sharing some of her power temporarily, it was so simple she had even managed to take the priests that had summoned her back with her. They had entertained her for a few hundred years until she had grown bored with them and destroyed them. She hoped that when it came time this man would do better, she hoped to make her time she spends down below flow better who knows in another hundred years she might be able to return with out being summoned she looked forward to such a time.

Kieran looked around the cabin and curled up on the seat drifting off into a light sleep, she needed some rest being summoned was quite exhausting it felt like her insides were being ripped out then stuffed back in. She knew that he was most likely tired from the ritual as he very well should be. She did not dream, she saw nothing but darkness when she slept, she sighed in her sleep, she needed to be at full strength if she was to help him to defeat his foe. She woke as she felt the carriage come to a halt, she assumed they had arrived at their location. She slowly opened her eyes, looking around a bit, she slowly sat up "have we arrived?" she asked softly.

As Sol was getting himself into the front of the carriage, the demon's words about his home rang out to him and he returned with a bit of an annoyed glance. Perhaps she assumed that he had a cozy cot waiting for the two of them where everything would be set up nice and proper for two individuals to rest and relax. To him, it was almost like an insult to his suffering. If he had a home, he would still be living in his hometown of Artea. But the monster he was hunting made sure not a single speck of that community would remain livable by any standard. His friends, his family, his innocence, all these things died that day and if it weren't for the charity of the wizard's academy, he would have wandered the land homeless and weak. The thought irked him so much that he didn't even realize that all the books that he had gathered in the carriage had gone up in a flash and a puff of smoke. Oh how furious he would be when he did find out, but in the meantime, he blissfully pointed out to the woman, "There's some important books sitting in there. If you move some of them around, I'm sure you can make room for yourself. We won't be travelling long. Maybe a few hours."

With a crack of the whip, the horses grunted and began to pull the carriage forward towards the west. Their destination was a little riverside town called Geffenia. It was a nice, peaceful community filled with unsuspecting peons who knew little of the outside world other than what news was brought to them by the passing travelers. Sol had been there a few times before and the innkeep owed him a favor which was paid by allowing him to set up a room for research so he could properly prepare for when he brought the now sleeping demon into this world. Of course, the young man mentioned none of this to the innkeep or the townsfolk. The last thing he needed was for them to be freaked out and gain the unwanted attention of outside forces since they would most likely learn of his plot from the fleeing, panicked citizens.

Night was beginning to fall now as the carriage finally reached the gates of Geffenia. Sol was lucky to reach it in time as guards were about to close them for the night. The carriage advanced forward and behind him, the young man could hear the thud of the gates closing keeping any thieves, ruffians or any other ill folk out...or in depending on the circumstances. And finally, after what must have seemed like forever, it stopped right near the front of the inn. Sol could already hear the demon awaken from her slumber, wondering if they had reached their destination. "Yeah, we're here," he replied getting off and opening the door to let the woman out as she was probably feeling cramped from all the books that had surrounded her.

Boy was he in for a surprise. For as he gazed upon the demon as cozy as she could be and none of the precious literature surrounding her, an infuriated look came over Sol's face as he let out in a furor, "WHERE THE HELL ARE MY BOOKS?!"

Kieran looked at him a bit confused as he yelled at her she did not understand why he was so upset then she figured it out "Oh I sent them to my home below so you have some things to do" she said simply, she brushed past him and climbed out she stretched feeling a bit stiff "you are so cute when you're angry" she teased pinching his cheek then walked away looking around. She looked a bit confused things were indeed quite different from the way things used to be. She walked around exploring and learning a bit, she avoided most of the people not wanting to do much interacting, she was glad that she was able to observe a bit from below, she had seen some of the rather strange outfits. She missed the ancient times where it was more suiting to her taste, she found them to be more comfortable. She was a bit annoyed that she wasn't being worshiped as she deserved, this human seemed to think she was his personal servant and found it to be rather irritating. She had needs and not one of them had been met yet she would have to take care of herself it seemed.

She looked at him and figured out where they were heading, she entered the inn and went to his room, she snapped her fingers and a large roast, with cooked vegetables, rolls, baked apples, and wine all appeared in the room. She sat down starting to eat she was starving entering the mortal realm was quite difficult even with aide. She waited for him to join her she was certain he would want some as well, the room was a bit cluttered and cramped, she snapped her fingers again and the books and other materials vanished and were sent to her home. She looked around as she ate and got comfortable, she watched as he came in "I got food you should eat you'll need it." she said simply. She grabbed a roll it had a bit of a sweet glaze on it, she enjoyed it greatly. She needed to eat and rest before she would be of much use to anyone.

She finished eating her meal and went to lay down for a bit longer, she had managed to satisfy most of her needs so far she would satisfy other soon after her nap. She would get what she wanted with or with out force, she needed a clear head so that she could attack the enemy or this whole thing would become pointless very quickly. She soon fell into a deep sleep, she slept for several hours before waking at last, she poured herself a glass of wine "you work too hard you need more fun and evil in your life" she said with a smirk as she licked his neck tasting his flesh.

The demon's explanation was...plausible to say the least. Demons had been known to make things go poof and magically make them appear again after a time. But regardless, Sol was still not happy to say the least. As he rubbed his forehead, he replied, "Just...let me know if you're going to do that beforehand, will you? I almost had a heart attack." This act of frustration was met with a pinch to the cheek and a childish sounding tease to which the young man's face turned a bit red from embarrassment. He was beginning to get the notion that she wasn't taking him all that seriously. As she took in the sights and the sounds of the new world around her, he went straight for the inn, stopping only to turn and see if the woman was done yet. When she began to follow, he entered and greeted the innkeeper who was quite impressed with the company the young man was now keeping.

"Got yourself a companion, I see," he replied with a chuckle. "Never thought you one to take a woman what with how gloomy you look. Just try not to make too much noise..." Sol knew pretty much what the older gentleman was getting at, but decided to brush it off and not bother explaining the purpose of her being with him. Instead, he gave the guy a wave and went upstairs to his room. When he did, the demon already began making herself at home, conjuring up a roast that was probably pilfered from some poor restaurant somewhere. In all honesty, he was starving and the thought of eating this feast while whoever it was taken from missed it was rather tempting. But even before he could sit down, she was already taking more of his stuff for herself, making vanish in a puff of smoke. "Cut that out!" the young man complained as he sat down and began enjoying the feast laid out before him.

By the time Sol finished, the demon was asleep on his bed, looking peaceful as could be. It was amazing that such a...vibrant...being could look so content like that. With the few hours of freedom that she had up to this point, she seemed to be taking it quite well. But, of course, this could all be a trick. For all he knew, she could be lulling him into a false sense of security so that she could stab him in the back later, so he had to be careful. While she slept, he took one of the hours. He was so distracted by the contents of the book He was so distracted by the contents of the book, he nearly jumped out of his seat when he felt the demon's tongue licking at his neck.

"I had fun once. But that was when I was a child," Sol replied as he wiped the saliva from his neck. "But from that day on up to this point it's been nothing but hard work to get to this point. Once I'm done with what I have to do, 'fun' or 'evil' won't have any meaning to me since I'll be in your possession. I can't even enjoy the pleasures of a woman all that much. No offense to what you're trying to offer what with your fawning all over me and such. There just isn't much in this world that makes me happy right now."

Kieran eyes glowed at what he said, suggesting that she was fawning over him, she just had needs that had not been met in a very long time. She grabbed him tossing him lightly against the wall as if he were a mere toy "you know I do have needs last time I was here I was worshiped like a god and you treat me with extreme disrespect. I will not tolerate it. I treat you as I would any healthy young man" she said. She rushed at him holding him against the wall by the throat, he may have summoned her but she was still more powerful than he ever could be. She released his throat and walked away, she closed her eyes as the light from her eyes faded, she walked over and sat down on the bed. She knew that she had made a deal and she would still help him, but she wanted to be treated with the respect that she deserved, she looked over at him, she was furious with him. She had needs that would have to be met and he was refusing, she got up and walked out the door. She didn't say anything to him she just left. She didn't want to deal with him right now, she walked to the edge of town entering a bar, she walked in sitting down.

She watched how some of the men reacted to her, she saw one in particular and approached him sitting on his lap crossing her legs, she slipped her arm around his neck. He bought her a drink and she accepted of course, she drank it down then started to kiss the guys neck playfully. She took his hand sliding it up her thigh, she would do what she needed to keep satisfied. She took the guy by the hand leading him to an alley along the side of the bar, she pinned him against the wall her eyes glowing slightly. The man saw the glow and started to panic, she saw the look and reached around giving his neck a quick jerk. She released him and let him fall to the ground, her eyes glowed brighter as she destroyed the body with fire.

Up to this point in his life, Sol had very few dealings with women. The only time he would ever get to interact with them was if they were his teacher or a source of information in his quest for revenge. He never really got to connect with them on a personal level and thus, didn't really understand their feelings like a normal guy his age should. So, it was no surprise that the reaction of his words towards the demon ended up offending her greatly. With little to no effort, he was tossed against a wall and held up by his throat in a reminder of who really had the power in this so called 'relationship'. The young man was rather stunned, too afraid to move should it prompt her to snap his neck like a twig and end their dealing as it stood. But soon, there was nothing to worry about as he was let go and the woman ran out in a huff looking to get some fresh air. As he rubbed his neck, he could only contemplate what set her off and whether or not she was going to be back here by the morning.

In the meantime, a low fog began to roll in to the city limits. Wheather phonomena such as this were common in the area, but this particular blanket of mist seemed even more eerie than usual. This didn't seem to bother the demon though, who decided to enjoy herself at the local tavern. There were several patrons there that night, most of them male and most of them quite interested in the pretty little thing that just happened to stroll in in the dead of night. For one unfortunate soul, however, this night would be his last on this earth. After a bit of seduction, he was led outside where he gazed upon true horror and was abruptly silenced because of it. Just as the lifeless body slumped to the ground, however, there was an odd noise growing ever closer to the demon's location. It was...clapping. Someone had gazed upon this creature's work and was surprisingly impressed with the efficiency in which she killed.

"My, my, that was quite good," the voice called out to the demon. "I see you haven't lost your touch for killing after all these hundreds of years." The voice was that of an older male, perhaps in his forties. It sounded polite, almost dignified in a way as if the person were from some kind of noble lineage. But when the bearer of this voice suddenly made his presence known to the woman, it was clear he was anything but. In fact, by the garbs he wore and the strange aura he let off from his body, one could mistake him for an older version of Sol. Of course, it wasn't him. That would be impossible. The only thing these two had in common was that they both knew Kieran in one way or another...

Kieran turned slowly to face the voice she would know that voice anywhere, "it is amazing how after all these years you are being so foolish. It's as if absorbing some of my powers did nothing for your mind." she hissed, she slowly approached the man, she rested her hand firmly on his shoulder "give me one good reason not to kill you right now. You should know after all about how bad my.." she paused as her eyes flashed with anger "temper can be. You never should have crossed me" she whispered as she vanished and reappeared behind him she liked the back of his neck "though despite your betrayal I did miss you" she whispered, she grabbed him by the throat lightly dragging her nails across the exposed flesh "but that will not save you, do you have any idea the trouble you caused me. They sent me back to the underworld I just managed to get out." she snarled in his ear, she was furious and she was considering killing him but she suspected he had good reason for coming to see her. She knew that he would prove himself useful but she would take her revenge on him, she had dreamed of nothing but slitting his throat and draining him of every last drop of blood the entire time she was trapped.
She took a few steps away walking around him a circle, she circled him like he was a piece of meat, she was treating him like her prey in fact right now that was exactly what he was. "I will never lose my blood lust in fact I think draining you of every last drop would bring me so much satisfaction." she hissed at him. She was still angry and she was not likely to let that go "besides what use would you be to me I have a new playmate" she said with a smirk. She licked her lips, she remembered how much fun they'd had during their time together. "time has been kind to you, you haven't aged a day since I last laid eyes on you" she whispered re approaching him and caressing the side of his face. She wanted to see what he was up to she didn't have any trust in him what so ever.

This man appeared to be foolish for making his presence known to Kieran. Whatever history the two of them had was not pleasant and what resulted was the wrath of the demon falling upon him. All it would take was a second and his head would be ripped clean from his body or even worse. She was clearly capable of that much. But despite the danger, the man seemed oddly calm, the only movement of his body being his eyes as they gazed upon this beauty of a demon. After a few minutes, he knew he had to say something else to her lest his silence be the signal to start the bloodbath. "Still obsessing over the past, are we?" He started with a bit of a grin painted on his face and a voice filled with an odd confidence. "Your obsession is a quality I always loved about you. It seems even now, you never stop until you get what you want. Even if it means mowing down anything that stands in your way."

The man's gaze turned to the poor chap who had his neck snapped for a second before turning back to Kieran and continuing. "Truth be told, I would say your obsession has rubbed off on me. You see, one day, I heard a voice. It was a powerful, overwhelming voice that almost tore my mind apart the first time I heard it. But as I got used to it, it became so...alluring. It told me to seek it out, no matter what the concequences. Naturally, I had to make certain...sacrifices in order to make my trip. That included abandoning you, of course. But I knew you'd find a way to pass the time. It was such a shame that you got sealed in the process, but I figured you'd find a way to escape eventually." The man suddenly stepped forward towards the demon, not giving a second thought to whether or not she would tear him limb from limb. He had a beaming look in his eyes as if he were ready to explode with emotion and passion. He took her hands in his and clenched tightly before continuing.

"You won't believe what I found Kieran! In all the years I've been researching immortality, never have I felt so fufilled, so...enlightened! All the answers I sought were right before my eyes. All I had to do...was give up my humanity...Really, when you think about it, it was inevitable, right? The path to immortality wasn't meant for such lowly creatures in the first place. Only beings like you and I could ever understand what it's like to live beyond the mortal coil these humans so desperatley cling to. That's why I've come back for you once I learned of your escape. There's someone I want you to meet. Someone of immense knowledge and power. Someone who can make your dreams, as well as mine, come true."

Kieran listened to him carefully as he spoke but when he compared himself to her she became furious, she yanked her hands out of his grasp and grabbed him by the throat pinning him against the wall, she tightened her grip slightly so she knew he would not be able to get away. She used her free hand to pin his wrist to the wall, she tightened her grip getting ready to shatter his wrist. "how dare you even consider your self equal to me. I have new pet I have no need of you anymore which reminds me" she said as she closed her eyes focusing her energy, she brought one of her pets to this world and sent her to go pay Sol a visit.
Ariella slowly formed out of a strange dark purple dust in Sol's room, she was short, with a slender figure, her long red hair flowed down her body covering her like a dress. Her pale skin looked a little strange in the candle light almost sickly. She started to walk towards Sol then collapsed to the floor, she had been summoned to provide comfort for Sol. Her mistress had told her that he was very subdued and quiet, he seemed to avoid any kind of contact so her job was to soften him slightly. She laid there on the floor looking up at him it had been nearly a century since she had used her legs so they were quite weak.
Kieran smirked as she reopened her eyes, "what could you possibly possess that I want? Who could you know that could be useful to me?" she didn't trust him and rightfully so, in fact she mainly just wanted to kill him right now. She leaned in pressing her body against his "the only thing you ever did was satisfy my bodies needs and desires but I'm not so sure you can even do that anymore" she whispered in his ear then licked his neck slowly as she tasted his flesh.

Though her reaction to his ambitions were surprising to say the least, the man didn't seem to give much of a reaction to her grabbing him by the throat and pinning one of his wrists so tight that it might seem that he would break into pieces with a simple thought. In fact, when he looked into her eyes, one could see that he was almost pittying her for her attitude. It was just about that time that the man's neck began to quiver beneath her as if there were something alive beneath his flesh. It pulsed and vibrated beneath the demon's touch, letting her know that indeed he was not human though he had the guise of one. And without a single choked breath, he replied to her in an almost sympathetic tone. "Poor girl. You will realize in due time that such miniscule things as equality and pets pales in comparison to what the master can offer. Perhaps if you met him in person, you would come to understand his greatness." Without warning, hidden within the mist, a tiny blur jumped out and appeared to strike at Kieran's leg. It was a vile looking thing, with the appearance of a centipede and the skull of a tiny human for a head. Within its mouth laid a row of sharp fangs which the demon would soon find to be laced with a rather nasty poison that was strong enough to knock out even the strongest of demons.

While Kieran was busy dealing with her past, Sol was still in his room. Still alone, contemplating the demon's words and actions. The more he thought about it, the more the young man began to feel bad about what he had done. He was so consumed with his mission that he never gave any thought to what she wanted, what she needed. With a sigh, he realized that perhaps an apology was in order...or something more. Clearly, for her anyways, saying "I'm sorry," wasn't going to cut it. He would have to give her something more...physical in order to appease her. Yeah, that would work. Of course, he had to find the woman first, a task that would have to wait what with the appearance of this new figure before him. She was a pale looking thing, with hair as red as fire and long enough to cover her body like clothing. She stepped forward and promptly collapsed before him and Sol quickly ran to her side. He didn't quite understand what was going on, but he figured his new partner might have had something to do with this. "Are you okay?" he asked with genuine concern. "Who are you? How did you get here? What happened to you that made you like this?"

Kieran knew this wasn't going to end well, she released him from her grasp and started to jump out of the way but she wasn't quite fast enough, but she was able to contact Ariella to have her let Sol know what was going on. As the teeth made contact with her flesh, she quivered slightly as the poison started to set in, she glared at him, she would take her revenge for this as well as the many other things he had done to her. She approached him again her claws fully extended she reached out to grab him but ended up just clawing down his chest as she sunk to the ground. How could a mere human have defeated her, for to her he was still a human, he could never be a true demon, she quivered and squirmed in her sleep, the poison searing through her veins like hot lava. She was in so much pain something she had not experienced in a very long time, she looked around as she came back to, she had a headache. She was so confused she didn't know exactly where she was, she tried to move more than just sitting up but she couldn't it seemed she was being restrained.

Ariella looked up at him weakly "I belong to Kieran, my name is Ariella. She brought me here to use me I don't know what for at this time but I must obey her. I have been in her pit for so long I can't even remember how I got this way." she paused for a long moment as she heard Kieran in her head "Kieran is in trouble she has run into an old foe, and he brought a friend this time, she is going to lose consciousness but she will be back." she said softly. She held her head it hurt from just now coming back, she looked around and shivered a bit she was cold the underworld was so warm compared to here. "Where am I?" she asked softly. She looked at the strange man a bit confused she had probably been down for at least a few hundred years.

The poison worked rather quickly to incapacitate Kieran. As soon as she slumped to the ground, she was in the arms of her former acquaintance who seemed to have little sympathy for the pain she must have been in. "That's it. Sleep my darling," he whispered into her unconcious ears before carrying her under the shadow of darkness to the town entrance. He knew he couldn't get out without being seen and thus, he would have to get rid of the guards who controlled the gate so that he might open them and make his escape with his prize. Setting her down in the thickening fog, he decided to restrain her while he completed this task. He bound her wrists behind her back and bound her ankles together with rope. Even if she woke up, the poison still coursing through her would make it nearly impossible to break free even from simple bondage like this. As soon as she was secure, he quickly scaled the stairs of the tower that connected to the town gate and impaled the hapless guard with his hand. There was nary a scream as he fell dead to the ground which made it much easier to sneak up the other tower and snap the second guard's neck like a twig. Certainly, he was proving to be more than a mere human at this point whether or not the demon thought him to be otherwise.

It was about this time Kieran was awakening from her slumber. The acquaintance had made his way back down to her and looked rather impressed at her ability to recover. "Awake already? I didn't quite expect that," he started, wiping the blood of the guard off of his hands. "No matter. You're as weak as a child now and will remain so until we see the master. Again, I apologize, but soon you will learn that..." The man's words were suddenly cut off by a blade piercing his flesh. It had gone right through his heart and while any normal human would have dropped dead right then and there, the man simply looked down at his fresh wound, confused as to how he was so quickly discovered. He turned his head to see his attacker and it was none other than Sol Gareth, his eyes burning with anger at the sight before him.

Several minutes earlier...

"You're in the village of Geffenia," Sol replied as he took the pale redhead and tried to help her to her feet despite knowing that she was merely a servant of Kieran. "Everything's going to be okay. Just lay down in the bed here." He led Ariella to the bed and laid her down as his anger began to grow knowing his only chance at getting his revenge was under attack. There might have been a seperation in feelings between the two, but the young man knew that without her, his quest would be for nothing. Looking down at the servant of his partner, he tried to reassure her that everything would be alright, though he didn't know if she could feel such a thing being in the demon's servitude for so long. "I'll take care of it. Just rest for now. I'll be back with Kieran shortly." And with that, he grabbed his staff and took off into the streets to look for what was being taken from him.

As soon as he stepped outside, Sol felt the mist on his face and knew that it wasn't natural. Someone must have cast a spell that allowed them to walk about unseen until it was too late. He wondered if Kieran had noticed it first. Judging by the fact that she wasn't tearing up everything around her, she probably didn't. Perhaps she was too concerned with the old foe that Ariella had spoken of. All the more reason to hasten his search. After a few minutes, he suddenly felt a sensation of bloodlust, a sign that someone was mercilessly killing another with or without provocation. Being a mage like he was, Sol could sense such things, but only within a certain distance. Fortunatley, this town was small and thus, the perpetrator became easy to track. This bloodlust led him to the town's entrance where he gazed upon an impossible scene. There, laid out before his eyes was Kieran, her wrists and ankles bound and standing before her was, most likely, her kidnapper.

If it weren't Kieran standing there, perhaps Sol would have thought up a plan to sneak upon his foe and strike him down before he had a chance to react. But this WAS Kieran. He had worked so hard to bring her into this world for his own purpose of which he felt his existence would mean nothing without. All the hard work, all the pain, all the suffering he went through to find her fueled his anger and thus, logic meant nothing to him. Taking his staff, he gave the wood a slight twist and surprisingly, it snapped off like a cap to reveal a long, sharp blade. Why someone who specialized in magic had a blade like that was a mystery, but whatever the case, the young man felt that using it would be the best course of action. He charged swiftly and powerfully, his aim to kill the interloper with one thrust of his weapon. Much to his amazement, he made contact without his foe so much as reacting to him. How could someone who could take down a demon like Kieran not hear the anger in his breath and feel the killer instinct from his blade?

His answer came when the man turned to look upon his attacker, a look of complete apathy on his face as he replied, "Oh my. I suppose this is the new 'pet' you spoke of. Am I right, my dear Kieran?" He took a step away from Sol, the blade still firm in the young man's hand and easily slid the weapon from the wound in his body. It was as if being stabbed in the heart had no effect on him at all. Sol could only grit his teeth in frustration knowing that his opponent was still alive and clearly something that was not human. Kieran certainly did keep some strange bedfellows in her time. "That's right," Sol replied to the man, though he was not being talked to directly. "I don't know what you want with her, nor do I care about the relationship you two might have had in the past. This demon is my responsibility now and I intend to keep her by my side until my task is complete. I won't allow anyone or anything to get in my way. You would understand that much, wouldn't you, Kane Lacroix?"

Kieran shifted as she came back to consciousness, she groaned her head hurt, and her flesh burned from the poison, she tugged on her arms but they were restrained and by nothing but rope, she scoffed at the insult, yet she could not break free. She looked weakly over at Kane, she wanted him dead for what he had done and was still doing to her, she was infuriated, she would need to do much to recover from this attack. She knew that she would have to absorb the souls of all her pets, or she would not be able to recover fully, but event that would not be enough for her it would seem, she would need as much power as she could get her hands on and she would need to share that power with Sol. She was already plotting, she seemed to always be plotting, or at least it would seem that way. She looked over and watched as Sol attacked Kane, but shook her head knowing it was of little use, she pursed her lips and released a high pitched whistle, she knew what might actually do some good in this fight.
Ariella appeared kneeling on the ground before them, she slowly stood to her feet looking over at her master, she received a single look from Kieran. Ariella bowed her head closing her eyes, a small orb of light formed from the center of her forehead. As Ariella moved her hands to cross on her chest, the orb expanded until it was bigger than she was, she slowly moved her arms out holding them out straight at her sides, she flicked her wrists and the orb flew towards Kane, this would not kill him by any means, but it would weaken him greatly. When she had been human many hundreds of years ago, she had been a high priestess of the light, she had fallen for a man that had dabbled in the dark arts, she had offered her soul in exchange for her love to be spared. But when Kieran had tried to take her soul and corrupt her, the magic had clashed with her purity, causing her hair to turn from a golden blonde to blood red. She had taken the power and purified it in a way making it her own. This power had come in handy for Kieran, it offered her a new power to control, for while she could not absorb the girls pure soul she still owned her.
Kieran smirked and waited for Sol to finish the job, she needed to heal and regain her strength but she knew as she rebuilt her ranks and absorbed more souls perhaps even a few demons would help her to regain her strength. She would absorb their powers as she killed them and regain her strength. She sighed laying there weakly, she watched as the scene played out, she still felt the burn as sweat formed on her skin. Her body was trying to burn off this poison but it would still take time even with a demon like her, she wasn't all powerful but she was damn close. She groaned as her body continued to fight, she struggled with the ties, she needed to get free and she needed to start her recovery since it would take at least a full day if she had access to enough souls.

Kane Lacroix was a particulary well known mage even amongst the elite. Named the immortal for never falling in a battle, he was known to have knowledge of some of the greatest magic in the world. But what he possessed in power, he also had equally in ambition. For him, there was never enough knowledge he could have. But with this human lifespan of his, he knew he would surely die before he knew all that he desired. Thus, he descended into the dark arts, experimenting on demons to find the secrets of their longevity. But the demon's secrets were particularly hard to uncover and Kane was soon driven into despair. That's when he met Kieran. She was as beautiful as she was cunning and smart. To him, they were very much alike what with their greed and desire for power. It was no surprise that a deal was struck between the two rather quickly and even less of a surprise that they would end up looking like the perfect couple. Then, of course, came the voices. The ones that promised him knowledge and power beyond even what Kieran could offer. Using a disguise, he disappeared from Kieran's sight and his search for the source of this voice began. Judging by the way he appeared to Sol and Kieran now, it was clear that he found what he was looking for.

What Kane was not ready for, however was the surprise appearance of Kieran's servant Ariella. He could sense how she was bound to the demon and the kind of power she possessed. It would be an easy matter to incapacitate her while she charged her incantation, but Sol, despite being rather surprised himself that the red headed woman suddenly appeared, would not let that happen. He quickly attacked again, and Kane was left with no alternative but to defend himself. He knew with that sword he possessed, he couldn't kill him, but there was something unusual about his aura. It made him feel...nostalgic. This nostalgia didn't last, however, as Ariella's orb of light rocketed towards the older mage. With a bit of effort, he kicked Sol aside so that he might dive out of the way of the incoming attack. It whizzed by underneath him and at first, he believed himself to be safe. But Sol quickly proved to Kane that he had a bit of cunning within himself as well.

Holding his blade out, the young man caught the orb of light within it. While a normal blade would snap with the force of the attack, Sol felt rather confident that his would hold. And with good reason too. It was a blade forged of pure mithril, a special kind of metal that was known for conducting and absorbing magical energies. It was no surprise to him that the blade began to absorb Ariella's attack and glow as bright as the sun before them. This unique attack would surely be enough to take down Kane. But Sol would not be satisfied with just that. He had another idea in mind, one that would disrupt any ideas Kane had in his mind that he would be dealing with a simple attack of light. His free hand began to glow. The power of Kieran, however minimal it was, began to flow through him. It weighed heavily on his body to the point where he thought he was going to suffocate. It seemed that recieving this power and actually using it were two very different things.

"Ah, so that's how it is," Kane replied as he got back to his feet. "You were much like I was when I was young and naive." He knew now that Sol was the greater threat here. Weilding Kieran's power and Ariella's at the same time, it was clear he had to be stopped first. The man gripped his robes and suddenly tore them off to reveal his bare chest to his opponent. Already, his body was showing signs of abnormality as it seemed to pulse and quiver as if something were crawling around inside of him. Without warning, Six long, sharp claw like protrusions burst forth from his chest, each one dripping with his blood. They looked terribly sharp and if Sol wasn't careful, he would be impaled upon them. They extended and came upon Sol so fast, that his first instinct was to slice them apart with the blade. But he had a point to prove both to Kane and Kieran. That using this power of her's was not naive, but neccessary, especially for what he had planned for it.

He extended that glowing hand of his forward, the thought of a shield appearing before him flowing through his mind. Sure enough, there it was to block Kane's attack, a shield of dark, mystical energy. With a loud clang, Sol was sent backwards, his feet dragging along the ground. When he stopped, he took his opprotunity to counter attack by swinging the blade upwards. The attack of Ariella burst forth, rippling along the ground like a shockwave. With his attack occupying Sol's shield, Kane had no chance to put up a guard. The wave cut him like a fresh piece of meat and he was sent sprawling to the mist covered ground. He was unmoving then, as if he were dead...

Kieran began to feel some of her strength coming back to her, she focused her energy and burned away the ropes that bound her, she slowly stood to her feet, she held her head it ached. She felt like it might explode, she rubbed her temples, to say she was furious would be the biggest under statement in the world, she walked away stumbling around almost looking drunk, she pushed forward though she needed to find some humans. She stumbled into the pub she'd been in, she walked into the center of the building, she licked her lips closing her eyes, she focused hard, she raised her arms out in front of her, she inhaled deeply as she opened her eyes, they were glowing. She smirked as she pulled her fingers more towards hers, she slowly started to draw the souls into her, they looked like ribbons floating through the air, she pulled them into her body. She started to heal, her body regaining some of her former strength but it would take time, she sighed heavily, she felt much better. She slowly made her way out of the pub, she walked back to the scene, she was not strong enough to fight right now but she at least could walk normally. But she still had a long way to go before she would be at full strength, she wasn't even there when she had first arrived, she snapped her fingers once she had left the pub causing it to burst into flames.

Kieran watched as Sol took down Kane, when she watched him take him down leaving him on the ground, she smirked and walked over to Kane's body giving him a firm kick in the ribs, she wanted to see if he was actually down. A kick from her would bring him out of any sort of fake sleep he might be in. She clapped for Sol "well done pet but you are still weak compared to what you could be." she said coldly, she walked away, she had much to do, she started on her rampage through town absorbing as many souls as she could find, leaving no one alive whether man, woman, or child. She didn't care, she needed the strength to survive right now, she felt almost as if in danger here, which was a very strange feeling for her. She walked up and down the street sucking in the souls through the windows, she could feel more of her strength returning however likely she would have to absorb everyone here in order to be fully recovered, she was angry as well. She hated that Kane had been able to catch her, it infuriated her, he was a mere human when she had first met him, he had practically begged for her help and now he had turned on her completely.

Ariella felt very weak after her attack, she went back to the room they had come from before, she curled up on the floor, she fell into a deep sleep, she would be able to draw on the energy Kieran was gaining. She felt a tad uneasy knowing that Kieran cared not for whom's soul she was taking even children, Ariella had once been a priestess she had wanted to help people. She had wanted to protect and to heal people, yet here she was linked to this horrible creature, she was forced to draw strength from the suffering of others. All because of one selfless act, how could living like this be better than sacrificing her soul. She was living a life of servitude, in exchange for saving the soul of a man that had moved on quickly, and was not dead and free of this place. She shifted in her sleep, she tried to remember what it had been like before all of this, she couldn't remember it had been so long ago now. She wished this could all be over, but even if Kieran released her, her soul was still soiled with the evil she had been forced to use.

Slowly, but surely, it seemed like Kieran was regaining her strength. She was finally able to break free of her bonds and began to walk away, though, it seemed like she was still. in a daze. When Sol tried to follow, he suddenly felt a terrible pain in his body and he dropped to his knees with a hack and a cough. He didn't know what was going on inside of him, but he had a pretty good theory and it had to do with using that demon's power. This pain inside of him, it was a concequence of using a power not meant for humans. The incapatibility of demonic magic and human physiology threatened to tear him apart from the inside. So intense was his pain that he didn't even take notice to the feint screams and rising smoke in the distance. Even as she returned and kicked Kane just to make sure he was really dead, he did not notice. It wasn't until some of the pain subsided that he finally looked up to see the smoke and hear the screams of the people of Geffenia.

A painful memory began to return to the young man then. Memories of that day when he was a child. The same day that monster appeared and killed everything in sight. There were flames all around him. People ran screaming for cover, but were soon rendered silent as the great beast fed. If it weren't for the fact that whatever that thing was that attacked that day wanted to leave a witness so that the world would know of its return, he too would have been amongst the hundreds of victims that day. And now, it was happening all over again. Only this time, it was a cold and ruthless woman, disgusted by the fact that the corpse near where Sol was had overpowered her, even for a moment. Slowly, Sol pulled himself to his feet. The pain in his body was still pretty bad, but he could not let the events of his past repeat itself.

The screams of the people were terrible. Men, women, children. None were spared from Kieran's wrath. It was as if she intended to wipe out any trace of life before her. There was no mercy in her eyes, no compassion, no compromise. The only way to get her attention, it seemed, was through sheer threat of violence and thus, Sol approached her, his sword in hand. Sweat trickled down his forehead and his breath was labored. Despite looking like he would keel over then and there, he pointed the weapon right at her neck, his gaze showing that he would pierce her if she took a single soul more. "That's enough," he muttered with an exhausted breath. "I don't care how bad you feel right now. I won't allow you to take the lives of innocent people. I may go to extreme lengths for my mission, but getting these people involved, these people who are fortunate to live happy and peaceful lives...I won't accept that. I'll kill you if neccessary, my revenge be damned."
