It was another long and stressful day for Blake as he came home. Being an artist could do that to you sometimes. He had spent many years painting portraits and selling them to support himself when he began living alone. It wasn't long before the pressure to produce great works of art diminished his abilites and the stuff he was producing wasn't up to par. In essence, he was losing his touch. He had no inspiration for his future works of art and the worry began to set in that he might lose his house and be forced to live out on the street like some kind of bum.

His home was filled with various portraits, some done by him and some done by other artists. Everything else was filled with balls of paper that he had tossed aside in frustration as he tried to find a new and creative piece to create only to fail. Tonight though, all he wanted to do was rest. He was exhaused after a long day at the auction house. The portraits he did manage to sell didn't go for too much and that which he didn't sell, he had to carry back on his own. He set aside his long leather jacket and brushed aside his short brown hair with his hand. Blake's stomach began to rumble a bit then. Because he was so busy, his metabolism was altered, leaving him somewhat thin despite the rest of him being quite fit. With hunger consuming his body, the young 20 year old went to his kitchen to prepare a small meal before he went to bed.

Adriana and Layla fluttered into the home of Blake. It was forbidden for fairies to interact with humans, but they had been very careful. Most nights, they just flew around, looking at the pictures. His work facinated them. Art was not a concept known to the fairy world.

Adriana was a rose fairy, with long red hair and dressed in rose petals. Layla was a daisy fairy with long white hair and wore a skirt of daisy petals. They found Blake's pictures of fairies to be the most interesting, thinking of how he got it all wrong. His fairies were too flat-chested, as both of them had nice rounded bodies.

Layla paused in front of one picture of a half-naked woman. With a grin, she mimiced the picture and Adriana laughed. Then she tried her hand at posing to Layla's delight. they flew around the room, posing to various works of art. Finally, they found the trashcan and pulled out pieces of paper and uncrumpled them.

"Oh, I like this one," Layla said, pointing to the uncovered sketch of a flower.

"I like this one," Adriana replied, uncurling a picture of a woman in a meadow.

"He can't draw fairies, though," Layla said. "It's a shame. I bet he'd do well if he knew what one looked like."

"You just want to model," Adriana accused. Layla didn't argue. they both thought of how exciting it would be to pose for the human, but it was forbidden. Though, if no one knew...

They were still riffling through the trash to find the pictures he had tossed out when Blake came back.

Upon opening the pantry, Blake saw that there wasn't much to eat. It wasn't suprising. He was low on cash and hadn't the opprotunity to go get some food from the market. Still, he made due with what he had and like an artist, he was able to formulate a decent meal out of the scraps he posessed: A chicken sandwich and a mixture of canned vegetables along with some mandarin oranges. This would probably be enough for the long night ahead of him.

Out into the living room the young man went and it was not a minute before he heard some rambling going on near him. He looked around, trying to identify the noises and soon looked in the direction of the scrap heap where all his failed inspirations were crumpled away. They were littering the ground, a suprise to him because he normally tried to keep a tidy work area in case there were guests. Again, another crumpled piece of paper fell out and to the ground causing Blake to get curious and go investigate. What he saw when he looked into the bin was quite a shock. There, sifting through the scrap were a couple of fairies!

The young man had heard tales of people encountering them in the forests nearby, but this was the first time he had seen them close up, and in his house even. But that wasn't what was on his mind at the moment. For Blake seemed more concerned that they were making a mess of things that he intended to keep tidy. "Hey! Cut that out you two!" He quipped with an annoyed tone while lightly swiping the air in an attempt to startle them out of the bin.

At the sound of the sharp voice, Adriana and Layla quickly hid under the scraps of paper. They had been discovered! Did he really see them, or did he think they were a couple of mice? Shivering, they huddled under their coverings.

Feeling brave, Adrianna peered out of her covering. "He's still looking in here," she squeeked in fear and ducked back down. "What do we do?"

"We can try flying out of here," Layla suggested.

"What if he catches us?"

"We can hide in here, then."

"What if he reaches in here or thinks we're mice and tries to kill us?"

Layla shrugged. "Or, we can try to talk to him?"

Adriana stared at her friend. That move would get them exiled. However, they were caught and there was no other way out. They couldn't leave, they couldn't stay, there was no other option.

Nodding, she agreed to Layla's plan. Slowly, too scared of the reaction, they flew up to face the human.

The only thing that Blake accomplished with his little swatting act was to cause the faries to sink deeper into the pile. He grumbled a bit and decided to wait them out and hope for an explanation as to why they were there in the first place. He didn't have to wait long before they finally emerged to face him and though he was still a bit agitated, he let out a small sigh before looking down at them and speaking in a more calm tone. "And just what were you hoping to find down there, huh? There isn't really anything in there except for my failed artwork. It's nothing special, really."

The young man then walked over and took a seat with a tired expression on his face. "It seems that alot of the work i've been doing lately hasn't been appreciated. But I don't think you two would care much about that, huh?" It seemed that Blake no longer minded the presence of the faries in his house. He was more concerned now about what his next project would be.

Layla and Adriana looked at eachother before flying up to the human. It was as if they had the same idea. They couldn't get into any more trouble, so why not have fun?

Adriana pointed to one of his pictures of fairies and then struck a pose simular to the one in the picture. Layla did the same. They changed poses and then pointed to other pictures.

"We can help you with your art," Layla said, hoping he could hear her. "We can be your models."

Blake was curious as to what these two faries were trying out. They were actually posing like one of the faries he drew and somehow, he found himself interested. They were both very beautiful and just watching them pose the way they did was inspiring. Wide eyed, the young man looked around for something to draw on and quickly found himself with a pencil and an art pad. He began to draw the two women as they stared at him. He would look up occasionally to make sure they were still and he would even set the pad down to measure them with his fingers. "Yeah, just hold that pose for a moment," he muttered before going back to drawing.

In no time at all, he found himself with a sketch of the two faries. Blake held it up to them with a curious look on his face. "Well, what do you think?":
