Mello, the tall and strict tempered FBI employee with the shoulder length blonde hair and the handsome face, has been put in charge of 13 year old L Lawliet, a brilliant young orphan.
The only problem is, L happens to be a rather feminine boy by nature, and wants nothing more than to dress girly and play with girl's things. Mello tries to discipline it out of him, but L is dressing increasingly like a girl.
The reason why Mello disapproves? As is obvious by his own androgynous appearance, he's had trouble being in a constantly masculine role. L is reminding him of his past.
Eventually, Mello has had enough and tries to force L to dress more like a boy. When that fails, well...why not let the boy be his little girlfriend?
