The sun was just setting, beautiful orange and red streaking across the sky. It was about this time that a lone figure left his apartment, quickly climbing the roof and stepping up to the edge. His nose crinkled, staring down at the busy street below. It seemed his eyes stayed there only for a moment before he looked up again, glancing to the roof of the next building before he moved backwards. Setting his jaw he ran forward, clearing the wide expanse between the two buildings and rolling as he hit the second roof. After picking himself back up he dusted himself off, immediately running for the next roof.
He was following someone. Someone that was so obviously easy to see from this distance. Of course he didn't want to be seen. When it had been asked of him to join his comrade he had refused in the hope that he would back out but it was becoming clear that he hadn't deterred the man at all. Gritting his teeth he continued forward until he reached the roof opposite of the desired building. He paced, green eyes moving to the figure he had been following and watching as he slipped inside the building.
A soft growl came from his chest, knowing the danger of breaking into such a building and stealing from them. Even he with all his strengths wouldn't be able to guarantee anything. Reaching up he ran a hand through his short black hair, pacing for a few moments more before he decided he couldn't leave him in there by himself. So turning he located the fire escape before quickly descending it, feet slapping against the ground as he dropped the last couple of feet. Hurrying across the road he entered the building as well, using his nose to locate where the man had gone and followed in it's path.
It led to the elevator an thankfully he knew which floor he would be getting off of. If he had been the one planning this out he wouldn't have used the elevator. As he stood there a camera was already watching them. A camera that he was going to have to get erased. For now there was other things he needed to worry about. Like his friends life.
The very thing he was going after was a piece of art. They were thieves. His friend for the money and he? Well he was in it for the fun. Or so he had thought. Until now. Gritting his teeth he glared at the little glowing numbers above the door as they counted the floors, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited to reach the top floor. The little ding alerted him that he was there, stepping out and glancing around the area. For a moment it was almost as if everything was quiet but a small sound alerted him as to which direction his friend had gone. His feet wasted no time in taking him in that direction, throwing open the door to find his friend standing before a large painting, obviously ready to cut it from it's frame and roll it up into a container. "Wait!" It was just at the moment he spoke that the elevator opened once more, a man stepping out of it.
His eyes went wide at the sight of the man, Taho gritting his teeth at his presence. "We must leave!" He forced the words out, looking in the direction the man had been standing but he was already gone. Taho cursed under his breath. "They know! We need to leave!" It was only moment's later that the sound of feet on the stairs appeared, of course to quiet for the human in the room to hear yet. "NOW!" He shouted the word, hurrying over to the staircase door and pressing back against it to keep it closed. There was no other way out of here beyond the stairs or the elevator. They were either going to have to learn how to climb walls like a spider or fight their way out. Gritting his teeth he set his legs in place as the cops reached the top of the stairs, banging against the door. Taho stood there for a moment, allowing them to do so before he released it, watching as the men tumbled through.
He wasn't going to win in this form. He knew it in his very gut but to show a human was against his packs laws. Though, there wasn't any cameras on this floor.
A hand hit him square in the jaw, bringing him back to reality and Taho gave a growl in response, his own fist slamming into the man's own face. For a few moments he fought with the men but it was soon becoming apparent that he couldn't take them all on at once like this. Yes, he could jump from building to building in this form but it was nothing like he could do in his true form. So with great hesitation he shifted, baring his teeth at the men as he roared in anger. Yes, now he could see there fear, taste it in his mouth. With a dark chuckle he attacked, using his whole body to fight the men this time. By the time he stopped moving the cops were sprawled on the floor unconscious and Taho stood there in his true form. His black fur was just as silky and beautiful as the hair on top of his head in human form. Forest green eyes shimmering behind that muzzle. Really he was a fine specimen for his kind but the human behind him wouldn't know that.
Slowly he turned, eyes staring at the man as if he was uncertain as to what he was going to do. Hopefully he wouldn't try to run. As it stood now, the human was in worse trouble than he had been before.
