Peace. Tranquility. Escape. Paradise.

She loved nature, more than she probably should. Ever since she was a child, Haruna had been unfathomably addicted to the fresh air. The sun, she drank it in like a glutton, and practically bathed herself within the fresh waters of a lake every day. It was a relief, to know that despite the absence of her beloved parents now, that she still had a place to go, to remember them fully. Their cabin. They had bought it together years before she was even thought of. Practically raised within the cozy, wooded confines of the small home every summer, it held a very special place in her heart. Especially now, after the deaths of her mother and father.

It had merely been a few weeks ago, that they were caught in a vicious car wreck. It had taken them both instantly, together. Haruna was still trying to come to terms with the fact that she would never see them again. Her quaint job as a freelance artist was giving her financial stability, but with the sudden distress put upon her mindset, her works were beginning to suffer. She had needed to get away. From it all. The bustling streets, the honking horns, the midnight escapes down Main street. The screaming pedestrians and the concrete jungle that she was currently residing in. It was all too much for her, and with only one place to run to, she quickly packed her bags for two weeks. Haruna knew this was for the best, given, the second she had arrived...she felt so much better. It was if the calming presence of her parents still lingered, and made her feel whole again.

Never having been one to enjoy being alone, she had invited four of her closest friends. They had been a pack since elementary school, and while she often felt like the fifth wheel, given that both sets were currently dating, it didn't deter her from enjoying their company. Twiggy had brought an impressive amount of home-baked cookies, something his boyfriend, Phrax, was determined to eat all by himself. While Selia and Jordyn took it upon themselves to provide the liquor, it was a far better experience than she had planned. Haruna had both the means of sating her sweet-tooth, and her desire for a good buzz. This was paradise.

Licking off the sweetened, tangy wine from the corner of her mouth, she watched as Phrax affectionately tickled Twiggy whilst the smaller male tried to pour himself a drink. Selia was off in the kitchen, trying to find something to hold the ice, while Jordyn was fiddling with her father's old record player. Soon enough, the baritone timbre of classic jazz filled up the cabin with ease, and made her skin tingle with remembrance. She wanted to take this moment for all it was worth, and thus, untangling her slender legs from beneath her, she quietly made her way out towards the back porch. It overlooked a small lake nearby, the very lake she had learned to swim in. The moon was high and full, glazing over the rippling surface. Her glass of wine was forgotten upon the outside table, before she kicked off her slippers and rushed down towards the shore.

There was a bite to the air, the chill making her shiver...and forcing goosebumps to arise upon her porcelain complexion. Haruna sighed, crossing her arms over her chest, her tender frame swallowed up by the over-sized sweater she was currently wearing. Why did things have to end like this? She'd never understand it, and while she was hoping for some kind of answer, she knew she'd never get anything of the sort.

To Begin Again

Nights were a magical thing. Magical more when under the trance of a full moon. It is said that humans become more active at night under the effects of the glowing guardian and that they behave... Strangely. Not only this but it's also the most opt time for strange things to happen. Strange though is only a relative term for some believe things are never coincidence, like when in a role play where two or more people control what is to happen. Others believe the purpose is something more mystical, like that of a god or goddess. Others don't even care, just accepting what was happening. Scythe was a little bit of them all and like wise none of them. He was never a person to care for much dealing with the threads of fates. To contradict this, he was never a go-with-the-flow type either. Scythe was more or less an enigma. He was a mystery of untold power and thus put him on the relative level of a fathomable god. Scythe was smarter than that though. A god wouldn't be within the confines of thought of man, they would be so much more than any mortal could fathom. Their powers would melt a person's mind from shear... power.

These things seldom crossed his mind except for rare moments, opting rather to live life in his way. On this night, this very night he explored the depths of a lake said to hold myth in its waters. On the night of a full moon it is said that a certain beast rises from the lakes and seduces a young woman. Scythe, with the ability to hold his breath for immortal amounts of time, swam every inch of this fraudulent lake and found nothing. Starting in the hours where the sun kissed the horizon, he swam through every nook and every cranny to find what mortal men spoke so highly of. Like most legend, he found nothing. He was however expecting this, not even disappointed or angry. Simply he was content with being proven correct, swimming up to the glowing orb breaking the water's surface. Taking him only a moment to breach, he drew a breath of the crisp air and flipped his magnificent white hair backwards. With his hair pushed back from his face, he wiped the water from his face to ease vision. His glowing blue eyes set sight on where he put his clothing, swimming towards the small cave he used.

Traversal was very quick, Scythe putting his incredible body to good use. The splashes his hands made were minimal, unearthly quiet. Finding the edge of the water, his foot stepped onto the mud and pushed him from the lake.

"Ah~" He sighed, stretching. His body a frame of six foot eleven, three hundred and twenty pounds of the purest muscle. Scyle was a perfectionist and his body wonderfully reflected this. His flesh pale and covered in a light, glowing green-ish blue. There was a pulse to it like it lived, pumping a mystical substance through his body. Was it a liquid like ink? Was it an illusion of masterful artistic skill? Only one person knew and he never told. He was such a cold person Scythe. Hardly close to anyone since his mother's passing, having never even known of his father save for some details his demonic mother told him. He shook more of the water away from his face, splaying out his beautiful hair before pushing it back again.

It was relatively peaceful outside, and it smelled like paradise. The fresh pine wafting through the ongoing breeze, and tickling at her senses. If she could, she would happily stay out here for the rest of the evening. Of course, though...if she did this, she would be thoroughly reprimanded by her friends for neglecting them. Haruna knew they would understand, but while she enjoyed trying to come to terms with her loss, properly grieving the death of her parents in private, those that were currently occupying her cabin, were adamant on being with her through every step. They claimed it wasn't healthy to be alone at a time like this, but in her own personal opinion, sometimes it just helped to have her own thoughts occupy her mind for a while. Haruna had an odd outlook upon life, something that was keeping her tight at the seams, and collected. It worked, though.

Her eyes scanned the relatively calm surface of the lake, admiring the way the moon illuminated the tempting water. It was so lov-- Wait. Squinting, she leaned in a bit, trying to decipher what she had just seen. A break in the surface, ripples flowing out...and, the hell? Was that someone swimming? As long as she could remember, her family was the only ones given the pleasure, to occupy this body of water. It almost infuriated her, to think that someone was defiling it so freely. In the middle of the night, no less. She took a few steps forward, until her bare feet came into contact with the soft under-earth, the gentle waves rushing up across the tops, to tickle at her ankles. Haruna couldn't stop staring, fervent in finding who this not-so-trespassing individual was. Maybe it was trespassing...considering, her parents did own a large chunk of this land.

Maybe...this person did, too? Pfft...hell if she knew!

Before she knew it, not only was this person swimming in her beloved lake, but...from what she could tell, it was a he. A very...nude, he. "Oh, dear," she muttered, her eyes widening in what could only be characterized as terror. Was he...GLOWING? Haruna immediately looked away, placing a hand upon her cheek, and soon her forehead, trying to see if she was running a fever. This had to be an hallucination. To actually believe that some large man, bare assed...rose up from the lake, glowing a type of green, bluish hue? It was maddening. Yet, when she dared to take another peek, he was there again. Right there, a presence that made her stomach flip and the hairs on the back of her neck rise up. Could it be an alien of sorts? No...why the hell would an extra terrestrial want to take a casual dip in a fucking lake? This had to be the workings of an over-stressed mind, and too many glasses of wine. "It's okay...it's just your highly active imagination, there's nothing over there...currently heading towards that cave." Wait, there was a cave? When did that get there?

Right, her parents had never let her wander off that far before. Who knew what else lay lurking in the-- oh no. Suddenly, she was overwhelmed with fright, the playful tales of that seducing beast immediately arising. This had to be a joke. This was...it was so, gods, she didn't know what it was. Haruna, determined to make herself feel sane, called out, waving her tiny arms about like a mad woman. "Hey! Hey, YOU!" Could he hear her? She hoped so. "What are you doing?! Swimming naked isn't sanitary!" Oh, that was smooth. Give this complete stranger, someone glowing, hygiene tips. Maybe she hadn't had enough wine tonight...

A Chance Encounter

At first Scythe paid no attention to her, cleaning out his ears to remove some of the typical gunk found in the lake. He felt... Dirty. Felt like he needed a shower or five and some very expensive soap and shampoo. Then he slowly turned around to exactly where the voice came from, looking upon the young woman. He could have said she were odd but he knew better. He could see the alcohol on her breath. He could smell the intoxication on her tongue and knew that while she may have been a bit... Odd that her alcohol levels dictated slightly her mannerisms. He didn't answer her however, opting rather to turn to stare at her for a moment while his mystical icy eyes studied her. She was a bit different from most he encountered but this wasn't to say she was the most special thing in the world. She seemed too mortal and if there was anything he found it was that mortal humans were typically very annoying and fragile.

With a snarl he turned away from the girl and stepped towards the cave. His large feet dug into the mud and dirt as they suffered his enormous weight. Slowly he stepped into the cave and approached the stone where his clothes rest on. He moved his coat from atop his pants and took the black fabric, pushing both legs through the fabric tunnels and slipped them up on his flesh, fastening the button. He chose not to put the rest on, merely the pants. He took a seat upon the throne and leaned down to assume a anticipating posture. He would patiently wait for this human to get curious and she would be met with one expecting her.

"Come girl, get curious," he whispered unto himself as he licked his lips. Fucking with humans was a favorite past time. Scythe may have been a general cold and stubborn bastard, but he did have a bit of a sense of humor... If a bit dark~

It irked her, to suddenly feel his eyes practically burn into her flesh. The way they glowed...even from this distance, was least to say hopelessly intimidating. She couldn't help but stand there, a bit awe-struck, unable to decipher whether she was truly experiencing this or not. The better part of her, the smarter part, wanted to blame this on the mere two glasses of wine she had had. It wasn't a lot, and she was far from intoxicated, but her mind was a bit pleasantly blurred. The other part of her, wanted to know what she had seen. She was curious, always had been naturally insistent when it came to the unknown. Thus...Haruna wasn't quite surprised that she felt her feet naturally dip into the water further, stepping closer, towards the one who had vanished inside the murky depths of the cave. She'd have to swim over there, by all her lonesome...

Glancing over her shoulder, she gave a heavy sigh and finally rushed into the water. Diving head first, she kicked and stroked, making the distance up in a matter of a few minutes. The lake was pleasantly warm tonight, and as she crawled out onto the stone slab just in front of the cave, she immediately regretted it. The biting breeze assaulted her, making her shiver through the heavily soaked material of her baggy, weighted sweater, and the thin cotton tights she wore. What in the world was she hoping to find over here, anyway? She could easily get killed, and yet, something had managed to hook Haruna by her very essence. As if forcing her over here, until she came face to face with whoever, or whatever, had been swimming in her backyard. She could only hope it was the former of the two, not wanting to get mauled by a creature of the night.

Wrapping her lithe arms about herself tightly, she tentatively made her way up, until faltering, her breath hitching audibly within her throat. Stuck there, she stared, finding that he had been waiting for her all along. Just sitting there, expecting for her to come paddling over like a starving dog to some meat. Reaching up, she pushed away the dripping strands of her dark azure hair, her lips lightly parting, and thoughts rushing across her mind so fast, she could barely keep up with herself. Finally, though, Haruna managed to find her voice, far more quiet than she had been previously. "Who...w-who are you," she asked, shivering, and in turn stuttering.

A Deal With a God

His focus never wavered. He was as much of the stone as it was of the earth, chin resting in his intertwined fingers as he expectedly waited for whom he knew would join him. How could he so clearly know that she were to follow him? Simply because she smelled of adventure, of curiosity. Most importantly? Alcohol. The next logical decision she could make was turn right around and act like nothing ever happened. Honestly Scythe wasn't one hundred percent sure he were correct for there were no certainties in the world. He heard a water part and his calculation came to full fruition. Now it was just a matter of waiting for her to cross. The breath from his nostrils fell upon his thick and powerful fingers as it was the only thing to focus on until she got here. Slowly her figure rounded the corner and quickly their eyes fell to each other's.

The moment was awkward from what she gave off. She was tentative, timid. He was a ferocious tiger for he never wavered. Not even the moment, the meeting, her words, nothing stopped his bright blue eyes from staring into her soul. All except one thing; Her foolishness. She wanted an answer? Scythe rose to meet the young woman, the tiger to his prey. Before he rose he picked up his trench coat and stepped over to her. His feet fell silent upon the ground, bulky frame almost casting an entire shadow over hers. He walked the distance in a short time, his massive strides allowing him capability. Looming over her like the moon, she may think she were in a bad position... And she was. Fool swam in this weather? Scythe could because... Well he's Scythe. Her? Maybe, possibly, probably not so much. She was wet and Scythe was feeling extra generous.

"Clothes, off." It was all he said as he dropped the coat at her feet. A leather coat that seemed to span for miles. It fit his body perfectly, covering all down to mid shin. On her it'd probably drag the ground and then some. The main thing was that it were warm. White rabbit fur lining the collar and lining the main body of the coat. It had a few belts and buckles for certain purposes and a fantastic row of silver wolf head buttons lining the front. All this made the coat incredibly hefty. Easily a fifty pound article of clothing, it'd definitely weigh her down but it should be manageable. Should be. Scythe turned his back to the girl, a first he had ever done. Scythe was always the man who did what he wanted without real care. This girl however was different. He knew she had lost something, someone and mourned its loss. To respect this, Scythe respected her a privacy. He only hoped she was smart... And sober enough to remove all her wet clothes which meant everything. He shook his head as he thought about it and turned his face to look at her face from the corner of his eye.

"And I? I'm the one saving your well being." His voice, so deep and so cold. The man was like a robot. He did not show emotion, not until he chose it. He was a very warm person, very caring but only to those who deserved it. It was a safe bet if he was risking his beautiful coat for her that she was partially there but that's mainly because Scythe had a soft spot for the foolish.

It was freezing, and it was painfully obvious. At least, on her. The way she stood there, near shivering from head to toe. She couldn't help but feel even more vulnerable in the presence of this seemingly titan of a man. He was...huge. Especially compared to her. Haruna didn't stand a chance against him, when it came down to sheer height and strength. She was utterly outweighed. The young woman could barely help but admire how statuesque he was, having never seen someone so...perfect, in a way. Hell, was he even normal? Her mind was far too muddled for this, she needed to concentrate on the here and now.

The here, being the fact that she was going to catch a cold. The now, being the sudden sound of a large, heavy coat being tossed to her feet.

Letting her eyes finally pry away from the stranger, she gazed down towards the offered article. It looked so warm. So warm, that she really didn't care about stripping herself naked in front of someone who more than likely, could kill her in a single swipe. She tugged at her oversized sweater vehemently, tossing it without a care. Her tights, which clung to her as if they were attempting to become one with her flesh, were slowly peeled away as well. She wiggled to and fro, until she was left in nothing but her bra, and a pair of considerably small underwear. Even those, were serving to keep her body frigid, and as she saw him still turned away from her, she opted to take the chance. At least he wasn't rude, and gauging her like a pervert. It...was actually kind of nice, the sentiment he bestowed upon her without any hesitance on his part.

Another bout of wriggling, and soon enough she was completely bare. It took her awhile, to actually pick the blasted trench up, but when she settled it about her like a shield, she immediately became calm. No longer, were her teeth chattering and limbs shaking violently. "I'm sorry," she suddenly quipped, looking towards him, "That was really stupid of me...I know, but...I've never seen anyone out here before. You're the first." It was the truth, and while Haruna was plagued with an obscenely grand curiosity, it had never gotten her into a type of situation quite like this. There was always a first for everything though, wasn't there?

The weight of his coat had her wobbling, and soon enough she found herself falling right down onto her plump rear. Wide-eyed, with a pursed mouth, she sighed. Oh, how embarrassing...

The Care of a God

The monolith stood over her as she undressed expecting it to all go lest she desired to suffer potential illness and his anger. Such a perfectionist Scythe was. It hurt him to know his beloved coat would even be dragging the ground let alone the pristine rabbit fur dealing with soaked clothing. He'd have to deal with a little damp fur because she herself were wet but that was minimal compared to clothing. She was taking a tender time in undressing and it brought up conclusions that the girl wasn't too stupid. This pleased him and to further such he turned as he heard her 'oof,' looking at her with a bit of an amused smile. Scythe was hardly one to smile so easily and yet the cute and almost helpless nature of the girl was tugging at strings never having been tugged before.

Scythe turned back before her, the flickering of the torch's light highlighting his chiseled physique and stepped over to her. He made sure to cover her with his coat then wrapped his massive arms around her back and under her legs. Easily he lifted her high into the air. Her body was minimal to his, her body falling against his barrel chest. He was almost completely hairless on his body save for a couple spots he felt comfortable on having. Scythe was indeed extremely manly but he also believed in caring for one's appearance. No man should use the excuse of 'being a man' to be without cosmetic attraction. A real man should embrace beauty as he thought.

He walked them out of the cave having not had but the two articles of clothing. Looking down to make sure she was okay he stepped towards the water. What a mad man he was. He wrapped her to make sure she kept dry and he wanted to soak her again? At least that's what would have happened if his foot did not fall upon the water as if it were as solid as the Earth. Without batting an eye, without any change he simply stepped across the lake. The only change was an increased flow of his glowing tattoo that could perhaps link the cause and effect but who knew? For all a person could deduce the tattoo could be linked to his mind, emotions and brain activity. He could be the mastermind behind it all without the special ink. Regardless it took only a few minutes to be at the small cottage, Scythe stepping around to the back door to avoid drawing unneeded attention for everyone else. Silently he opened the back door and walked into the warm building, silently closing the door back. Swiftly he slipped them into the closest bedroom, moving over and setting her onto the warm bed. With a nod he took a seat on the nearby chair. Again he stared at her like he had previously, but with a warmer concentration.

"So what's your name? I'm Scythe."

Did he just smile at her? Haruna couldn't help but feel as if this man very rarely smiled, especially when faced with someone so...real. She felt like a small spec, compared to him. The energy that rolled off of his person was like tangible matter, overwhelming her when the distance between them was easily enough snuffed out by long, smooth strides. A part of her wanted to anticipate being squashed, her small frame naturally tensing, just as two very large arms, swooped down and wrapped about her. Unable to help but gasp out at the sudden motion, she felt her bare feet lift off of the ground, and soon enough she found herself wrapped up within his coat like a tightly wound burrito, tucked safely against his muscled chest. It was considerably warmer, when she was so close to him...and thus, it was only natural she migrated to that source.

It was a bit silly on her part, and hopelessly careless, she knew. But, nonetheless, Haruna let her head fall against his collarbone, her limbs relaxing tenfold, whilst the scenery before her began to change. Where was he taking her? And...how in the world was he simply going to walk towards said unknown location, with a lake sprawling out before them? She peeked out from over the fur lining of his trench coat, peering towards the body of water. He was crazy, wasn't he? Or, he simply knew he could pull a Jesus, and walk across without falling in. What the hell? She was once more rendered speechless, truly trying to believe what was currently sprawling out before her very vision. He really wasn't human, was he? Had he been glowing? She looked towards his chest, lashes fluttering repeatedly, and she quickly noted that there was an illumination beaming from him.

Haruna had managed to get herself into a situation that she couldn't even begin to explain. All she knew, was that she didn't want him to let her go. He was so...comfortable, and just as she opted to give in to her urges, eyes closing, she could feel a change in the atmosphere. They were inside? Such was answered as the familiar cushion of a mattress touched her back, allowing her to roll onto her side, enjoying the fact that she was now in her own territory, away from that horribly cold cave. Of course, she had managed to bring back home something that wasn't quite on her every day agenda, but...so far, he had served to only help her.

"Haruna," she answered, pushing herself up to settle heavily against the headboard, her eyes watching him from across the room. "You aren't from around here, are you...?"

Writer's Block Demolished

Wasn't from around here? 'What gave it away?' He pondered sarcastically. Of course he wasn't from around there. He wouldn't even had been there for a day had not his curiosity been tempted. Indeed he was not from around this area but somewhere very similar. Where he grew up and stayed was a place quite similar to this little home. A cafe off into the woods, a secluded little spot of beautiful comfort. So humble it wasn't, to contrast the simple house. Where he stayed was kept in condition in a manic way. For a perfectionist he would need perfection from all he owned and such his place of home would naturally reflect this is spades. A beautiful place. If this was more than a momentary meeting then he would have to show her one of his biggest joys in this mortal world.

"No, I am not," he casually responded to answer her question. "I was here to explore a local urban legend that piqued my interest. I explore and find what mortal men are unable to." He reclined into the chair, folding his powerful biceps over his explosive chest. "And before you ask, there's nothing in the lake. I searched every possible crevice and if there were something in there or around there I would have found it. A beast to seduce a young maiden. Pfft, what a bunch of drabble." He scoffed at the idea and looked at the covered figure. The random chuckles and goings ons of the others in the opposing rooms didn't worry him. They were all too intoxicated to care. No one was talking of Haruna missing so his presence shouldn't alarm anyone actively.

To speak of Haruna, he wondered how she felt about being naked in a stranger's coat. "So ummm... Ms. Haruna, do you think you should get dressed? I don't have too much problem with you using my coat but I'm not sure how you feel about just being in a wrapping for the night. You could walk about nude but I've found most mortals don't appreciate that too much..."
