Why do you care?
No! I swear, nothing crazy.... just some basic rules to keep things running smoothly.

1) Rules of the site AND of Group RP must be followed.

2) All thread for this RP are to be made by the organizer (or GM) of the game ONLY. Requests for threads may be made accordingly, however, and will be added when approved.

3) Posts should be approximately a paragraph minimum. Basically, something people can go off of so that they can further things along in the plot, character development, action, what have you. We don't expect novels, but things that'll move things along. So, don't sweat it if you like to write tons OR if you like to write short but sweet posts. All styles and levels are welcome here. :)

4) When moving from thread to thread, make sure you indicate what thread you'll be moving to using parentheticals. Example: (Exits to North Bay Village)

5) Do NOT just kill off someone's character or disrespect a person's limits/kinks/etc or anything like that in this RP. So, be sure to discuss such things with them first before doing anything like that.

6) We'll be using a tagging system in our posting. So, everyone will be using a header when they post. No exceptions. Tagging will be explained in a subsequent post.

7) Since this is a group RP, people are dependent on others to post. However, people also have lives outside of RP. Given this, the expectation is that people should not pester others about posting unless they go THREE OR MORE DAYS without posting. After this much time has passed, it is considered, all right to POLITELY nudge someone to post so as to allow your characters to continue on within the RP. If you know you'll take longer than three days to post, PLEASE let us know about your delay in the 'absences and delays' thread. Anyone who doesn't post for MORE THAN 10 DAYS WITHOUT WORD will be considered inactive. To become active once again within the RP, please contact a GM.

8) Be friendly and fair and try not to isolate or ignore anyone in the RP and most importantly... HAVE FUN! :)

Tagging... What is it?

Tagging is a means of indicating who your character is talking to, seeing around them, etc. It is a great way (especially when the groups are larger scale) to let people know who your characters are interacting with either directly or indirectly OR have the potential to interact with. It might seem a bit strange at first, but I assure you it will be easy once you get the hang of it. And it will make things very straight forward as to who is talking to whom as the RP progresses. To help with the use of the tagging system, everyone will be using a header when posting for their characters. A sample of what the header will look like will be found in a subsequent post.

Also, if any questions arise as the RP moves along regarding the tagging system, they can be brought up easily enough in the OOC thread.

Time Labels... What are they and why use them?

In group RPs, it's easy for people to end up at different time points and for various reasons. It might be because some of us post faster than others or because some of us post slower than others. It might be because a sequence of posts for a scene might take longer to play out for a particular scene than it might for another or several others. All of these and possibly other reasons I'm failing to mention are things that can cause us all to have our characters end up diverging on time.

One way to try and keep tabs on times (though this does require all those participating in the group RP follow and keep track of everyone elses' posts within the group), is using something called a time label. These are parenthetical notations the poster can use just AFTER the Header, but just BEFORE the actual post of their post for their character(s). In the parenthetical, you give a clear and concise notation letting the reader know approximately when 'game time' your character is.

One wonderful advantage to using time labels is that it does allow for participants of the group RP to post for their character at several time points within the group RP simultaneously. So, you might post for your character for one scene in the morning and for another in the evening all within a few minutes of each other (though taking care to time label each one so that those participating and interacting with your character(s) know WHEN your character is). The advantage here is that this allows for pace and progression to be maintained and for people to not be held up in case someone is interacting with a slower poster, but would like to post another scene that might be happening at a later time, etc.

It might sound a little complicated at first, but it really isn't. And once used, it is truly easy and runs rather smoothly and allows for a lot of things to get done in a game that normally could not because you forego the idea of linear gameplay. Anyway, as the game progresses, never hesitate to ask questions. Just pose them in the OOC and they will be answered.
