With a groan Zintal woke from a dizzying sleep. His head was pounding, what had he been up to? Had he gotten black out drunk again? No, that can't be, he would need money for that. Something else then, did he lose a fight? No no...well lets start with what he can remember, where is he? His eyes, slowly growing accustom to the light, scan his surroundings. As they grow more focused his surrounding become more clear. Eventually his eyes find a sleeping female knight, instantly the fog in his head clears and he remembers everything. He was on a job, a dangerous one at that. Some wizard pulled a double cross on someone he owed a large amount of gold to and they were willing to forgive his debt take care of the wizard and even pay him a handsome fee to bring the wizard back in alive.

And of course Zin here agreed, easy money! and who else would they ask? Non were more qualifed than him for this job. Sure they may be one or two...maybe even 3 people we were better fighters and sneaks than him, but Zin knew a thing or two about how magic worked and even had a nice little collection of magic items to help him out from time to time.

While tracking the wizard down had not been easy he eventually managed to do it. And as always his luck seemed to determined to be horrible, as he happened upon the wizard he was hunting for at the same time some sword for the kingdom had, apparently this wizard hadn't just pissed off one of the bigger crime bosses of the kingdom, he had pissed of the kingdom as well.

He and the swordswoman quickly ended up fighting with one another, neither willing to relinquish the capture of the wizard to the other. Alas they seemed to be evenly matched and all the commotion alerted the wizard to their presence. There had been a flash of light and then...he had woken up.

"So why the hell aren't we dead?" He mumbled out loud, when something caught his eye. A mark on his wrist, much like a tattoo. One that hadn't been there this morning. "NO....nononono..."he muttered desperately to himself as he crawled over to the knight and examined her wrist, sure enough it held the same symbol. "GAH! NOOOOO! DAMN IT ALL!" he cursed in ever language and religion he knew.

"Why couldn't he have just killed me instead."

Groaning at the sound of someone cursing, Monica began to wake up. "Will you shut up. It's too early for all of that." She moaned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. As the white-haired knight began to remember what had happened, she muttered a few curses of her own. "I hope all his food tastes like sand and his drink like piss." She growled angrily.

Dusting herself off, the green-eyed woman stretched and began counting her weapons, making sure that the bounty hunter hadn't taken any of her treasures. Checking herself, she felt an odd tingling sensation on her wrist and looked down. Seeing the same mark, she gave a long sigh and put her head in her hands. "If I'm dreaming, pinch me." She muttered as she looked up again.

"Oh for all that's good and holy!" She exclaimed before striking out and kicking down a chair. "They said they wanted him alive but they said nothing about me not being allowed to rough him up a bit." Monica said as she cracked her knuckles. Looking back at Zintal, she held out her hand. "Come on. He already has a headstart. The sooner we catch him, the sooner we can get him to release us from this spell." She said softly.

She was taking this rather well all things considered. She seemed to know what curse was placed on them, but from her reaction she didn't seem to know all the details. He was so frustrated with the knight when she offered him her hand he nearly felt compelled slapped it away. Never had he wanted to hit a woman so badly! well there was this one time in this bar on the north corner of the city, but even so this was a close second. "Are you nuts? Do you know what this curse is? It's the Fate Chain curse! Not only are we forced to suffer one another company due to an inability to be more than about 50 feet away from one another, this curse is famous for being incredible flexible!" he explained urgently

"A skilled mage can weave almost any kind of side effect imaginable into this curse. For all we know it will kill us if we leave this room! We need to figure out if there are any side effects to this, maybe see if there is anything left in this work place of his to remove it." He said looking around urgently, this chamber had once been the wizard's laboratory, when they arrived here it had been filled with all sorts of equipment and other powerful items. Much to the Zintal's dismay the wizard seemed to have taken everything with him. "Damn it all. This is all your fault you know. If it weren't for you I'd be on my way to a debt free existence. Bloody knights sticking their noses in where they don't belong. Why on earth does the Kingdome want with this guy anyways?"

"I know it's the Fate Chain curse, you numbskull! I'm sure the mark on our wrists explains it all! I'm atleast trying to be friendly since we'll be stuck together until we catch that mage!" Monica snapped, her piercing green eyes staring into his. It was obvious that she was just as annoyed as he was. She just knew how to hide it easily.

"If he wanted us dead, we wouldn't be alive. Knowing how his mind works, he probably put some disgustingly perverted side effect into the curse." She said as she began to pace slowly. Hearing his question made her stop, her back facing him as she answered. "We tried to not let the news spread but since you're in this now because of the curse, I might as well tell you. He's been charged with purposely cursing people with that plague that ran rampant three years ago, hypnotizing the princess into having sex with him, raping the ladies in waiting, along with stealing some of His Majesty's jewel and replacing them with charmed pebbles." She replied, not mentioning that the mage had nearly had his way with her once before someone caught him in the act and chased him off, releasing her from her binding spell.
