Being a guy who was well on his way to establishing himself a solid life, Sean did his best to keep as far away from his so called family as he could. It was not that he didn't like his parents, it was just that he didn't care to bond. Sean had never bonded with his father and he certainly wasn't about to put effort into building a relationship with a woman who took no part in conceiving him. He played his part by being polite and accepting and that was where the relationship ended. He didn't have time for family and he certainly didn't have time for bitchy step-sisters.
Frowning at the pitiful contents of the fridge, he only managed to draw his attention back to Sarai once she started speaking in that god-awful tone of hers like she was winning some sort of epic battle. Sean quirked a brow at her audacity, reading her gaze with little to no effort. If she thought for even a second that he was going to allow her to hustle him into staying then clearly she needed to get some more sleep. It would be a cold day in hell before he spent his much deserved vacation in this hell-hole with the hell-cat herself.
Sean could only watch as she unceremoniously gave his friends the verbal boot before heading back upstairs. Masking the oncoming scowl, Sean muttered something about meeting up later before following his step-sister up the stairs. This was far from over. The girl needed to realize who was in charge here. He, being the older brother and the only man in the house had more say than she did. That is, if she didn't open her big mouth and blab to the parental unit.
Once he reached her bedroom door, he didn't bother to knock, stepping in wordlessly. Normally, Sean was well-mannered enough to knock but seeing as how they were alone and he was on his way to getting angry as opposed to just mildly irritated, he didn't see the need to display any form of decorum.
"Look, I know this bitchy attitude is just your way of coping with being left behind while mommy skipped off to Cancun but you're not about to ruin my Spring break. Stop being a spoiled little brat, go back to sleep and when you wake up, everything will be better. I mean, you'll have the house to yourself. Go nuts, just make sure to cover for me. That ain't so hard now, is it?"
Of course the question was rhetorical, though, Sean couldn't help but regard her thoughtfully as he waited for what he hoped was an agreeable response. He was in no mood for defiance. Not this early in the morning.
