Doctor Vious and his henchman had just successfully pulled off what could possibly be the most important heist of his career. With the refined iridium and specialty lenses they had taken from the government storages, the Doctor would be able to take his experiments to the next level. Now he needed to celebrate and there was only one good way to do that. He needed to fin d a pretty young woman and have his way with her.

Now while Vious was a scientist he was still a physically attractive man, standing at just barely over six feet tall with a sculptured ebony body. Many of his foes were unpleasantly surprised when he took off his lab coat and battled them hand to hand. Finding a woman the normal way would have been easy for him. He was wealthy, attractive and skilled but there was something about forcing a woman to submit to his desires and serve his whims that aroused him.

Still wearing his costume that consisted of a red face mask and a black lab coat he strode confidently into a nearby bank. While money was not usually an issue for him, terrorizing the local populace added to his mystique and made opposition less likely. Besides he had spotted the woman he decided he would wanted tonight. And D. Vious always got what he wanted. Channeling dark energy into his hands he blasted a hole in the ceiling as he entered the building. "Listen her everyone. I;m robbing this bank. Do as I say and I might decide not to hurt anyone. If anyone disobeys well let's just say that the mortician will have a very busy weekend."

The five foot four young woman tried to stay as silent as she could, very quietly sinking to the ground like the people around her, after looking around, reluctantly knowing there was no way to get out, change, and return to fight Vious. Mayu had dark hair in a bob that ended around chin-level, and delicate features that were usually schooled into a rather stern expression. Her features strongly favoured her Japanese mother, though her skin tone, nose, and blue eye colour matched her American father much more.

Her hero-name was Sunburst, her costume reflecting that-being a white body-suit that conformed closely with her body, excepting for the bright yellow tabard she wore overtop, which neatly preserved her sense of modesty. The way the white mask wrapped around her head changed how her hair looked, giving it the illusion of being shorter and having much more body then it did in her usual life. Her real name was Mayu Thomas, she was seventeen years old, and had been playing at being hero since she was fourteen. Sunburst's powers revolved around the sun-she absorbed power from it, and could release that power how she pleased. She could float, using manipulation of air thermals, she could release destructive power blasts that could burn flesh, start fires, and blast holes in things easily, and she could shine like the sun. She was like a battery though, when it was dark and she had no access to the sun, and could only keep fighting until she ran out of stored power.

For now though, there was nothing Mayu could do but watch the man that had strode so arrogantly into the bank, her blood boiling as she wished she was able to slip away. It was too much of a longshot that she would go unnoticed, and explaining her attempt might be difficult. Best to avoid his notice, she decided.

Unfortunately for Mayu she had already gained Vious' attention and was in fact the reason he had come here. Striding towards the small teenager and stood over her menacingly. Misinterpreting her glancing around to find a place to change he put his hand on the underside of her chin and forced her to look up at him. His eyes were empty and dark. The entire pupil was deep black that stood out even in complete darkness. "Don't you worry darling. I could never hurt such a beautiful delicate flower."

The air sizzled as he channeled dark energy into a focused blast and pointed his hand at a security guard who had been attempting to stop him. One flash of darkness later and all that remained of the man were ashes and a gun clattering on the ground.

She froze as he walked right up to her and grabbed her chin, her blood going cold as they made eye-contact, praying that he didn't recognize her. He didn't seem to, feeding her some bullshit line just before he-her jaw dropped, and she jerked it away from him, getting to her feet in outrage. "You killed him!" She said angrily, obviously horrified and a little outraged. Right in front of her! Not that he knew she was herself, but...but still!

He couldn't know, she realized, forcing herself not to attack. He could not know that she was in her secret identity-he'd just find her family, attack them, or maybe her friends, do terrible things to people she loved for his revenge. The only way to protect them...was to pretend that she was just what she appeared, a young, almost helpless girl.
