It had been their best kept secret.
Deep within the basement of Neurotech Industries, a laboratory was hard at work. It had been the seat of much research and development, up to the point where their product could be mass produced. At that stage, the lab turned itself over to being a full time factory. Vast rows of tubes filled cavernous tunnels, all filled with blank, featureless humanoids, just awaiting their programming.
The clone program was an unmitigated success and Rebecca Lawson knew it. As CEO of Neurotech, she had successfully sold the program to at least three governments. Now all she had to do was deliver. The lab was working overtime, doing its best to create and grow the soldiers in a super quick timescale, ready for them to be outfitted and sent to their customers. But here, they met a stumbling block. The clones needed nutrients and only human nutrients would do. They had advanced their genetic manipulation technologies as best they could but in the end, the needed volunteers to help feed the clones as they grew.
Willing volunteers had been rare and with the push for production, Rebecca had been forced to take drastic measures. Using her own DNA, she had been provided with a radical solution to the lack of supply, even if it meant certain... unethical activities took place. It was a temporary measure for sure but she would have been lying if she did not admit that she took some enjoyment out of setting up the supply chain for this little factory.
Which led her nicely to tonight's engagement. The woman had been found snooping around the basement entrance, asking difficult questions of the guards stationed there. Having found her way past them, she had stumbled across the secret factory and had been immediately detained. And now Rebecca got to interview her and decide her fate. She pushed open the door to the sparse interview room and walked in, her grey silk suit whispering as she entered, her brown hair neatly tied up in a bun.
"Now, our curious guest," she said as she took a seat opposite their intruder. "Who are you and what are you doing down here?"
