It was nearly nightfall when the final boat came to port in the colorful, well decorated city of Venice. Everyone flooded off the ship; ready to go to the large and lavish parties the city was known for. Tiny lights glittered and glistened on the streets, they glowed like earth bound stars. The women laughed loudly with massive hair standing taller then they were. Their large dresses made it intimating to approach. It was the age of decadence after all. On the very back of the ramp, Abandoned by the excited visitors, was what appeared to be a young man, maybe in his early teens. He wore a baggy buttermilk shirt with a tight satin burgundy vest. He seemed too willowy and pale compared to most of the toned, sun-kissed boys at that age. His soft face and eyes made the the rich men take a double take at his form.
That was because Amelia was no boy. For a girl, she stood taller then most at 5'9" with a slender, graceful looked. She had snowy blond hair that was pulled back into a ponytail to hid her womanly charm. She was 18, but she could barely pull off a 15 year old boy. Her Mother had been a french women who grew up in Venice while her father was a strong German man that swept her off her feet and ran away with her. Amelia was the perfect mix of the two, Strong yet graceful. If she didn't dress like a boy she would've had suitors lined up from here to Paris. Other then her pretty face, Amelia managed to hid all her feminine features well. Her breasts were tightly bound with thick, cotton cloth so her chest was mostly flat. Her waistcoat hid the rest of her bust. She wore chocolate brown breeches and a long jacket to hid her curvy hips.
If she had been a normal girl she would have been considered one of the most lovely maidens around. If her mother hadn't died, she would have been raised in a fairly normal life. She had lost her when she was only a toddler. Her Father was from a well known and feared vampire hunter family, it was understandable that some of the monsters wouldn't like him very much. When her mother Clara died Amelia's father hadn't a clue how to raise a girl. So he didn't. Women were just easy targets to the monsters anyways. He would take her and her other 3 brother off on his missions, training them to be the best vampire hunters in the land. His 4 sons would nearly famous for their skill.
This was her first mission alone. Her heart pumped enthusiastically. Her father had been very reluctant to let her but the young huntress wouldn't allow him to treat her with a double standard because she was biologically female.
Amelia had got a message that there was supposedly a vampire clan in Venice, one of wealth and power. Likelihood it was just a false alarm, rich people tended to seem weird and almost cold blooded to normal people....but it didn't mean they really were. Amelia had always wanted to visit Venice though. She had traveled to every other major city in Europe, for some reason her father avoided the place as it were the plague. She doubted the vampire clan, but it was an wonderful excuse to explore.
Her fierce, yet powdery blue, eyes darted around looking at any buildings that a vampire would be likely to stalk. All part of her father's borderline psychotic training. Nearby she saw a bar. She nodded, pleased with her findings. It was a common hunting ground for vampires area because intoxicated people were the easiest to target. Plus Drunks were always willing to share what they knew about the gossip of the town. If there was a vampire here, someone would give her the details. She touted over to the pub a block away. People were already crowing in.
"pardon me?" She spoke in a lower, false masculine voice as she approached a table of tavern wenches. "I'm new to town, I was wondering if you would mind me sitting here?" she tried to sound like a guy but much to her embarrassment, she only managed a prepubescent boy. They all looked at her and giggled. Her heart began to pump wildly in her chest. She had never gathered information by herself before, one of her brothers were always there beside her. This time she was all alone. She hoped these women would either think she was just funny or would be too drunk to take too much notice of her feminine voice.
"Sure, pretty boy, but won't your mother be worried about you?" one women leaned over, her bust almost falling out of her low cut corset. The girl smirked. Another useful trick her father taught her was how to read people. This woman most likely got her kicks out of stealing innocent looking boys virginity. Easy target. After about a half hour of shameless flirting, the girls started talking about the vampires within the city. The details were foggy, she couldn't tell if there was one or twenty leeches mucking about. After she got the little information she could, she excused herself from the table. The ladies beckoned for her to stay but she had to start planning her action as quickly as possible.
First, She'd need to check into a hotel, then start staking out areas. Amelia didn't know the city yet, which was the most important aspect of hunting. Bars, alleyways, or anywhere else conveniently shadowed. Those were the most likely places a vampire lurked. Both her bag and bulky German sword hung off her back. It was too late already, no map shops would be open. She leaned against a wall. With her eyes closed she took a deep breath and slumped.
With all those women touching her thighs...she had to find something to distract herself. She already knew she had taken on a life of celibacy when we became a cross-dressing hunter...but it didn't help when she had to fake being a sexually interested man. Sometimes she wondered sometimes how much of her flirting was acting, and how much was her honest hope. She was frustrated...ready to kill something to relieve the tension but the girl knew better than to do something stupid.
And so she walked down the dark street, looking for a hotel that was still accepting guests.
