Okay instead of only sending one boy and girl to their death they get to go into a game were they use Avatars to try and win the games. Katness and Peeta stopped the original games were the constants were dying. The one thing about the games is the pain the Avatars feel you feel and if they engage in sexual things the person behind them feels them. If they die they are disconnected and therefore they lose . They are teams and the goal is to keep the teams alive as best you can but killing is not one way to make a team lose instead the goal is to try and collect the most racecourses you can before the week is out and the Team with the most racecourses wins.
Its also a time for the districts to show off there one resource. Here is the list of the twelve districts and the new capital which is district 13. the capital puts in two kids as well but they do not compete instead they are to give out the gifts and when team finds them but they have to be found first which is not easy to do.

district one-Makes luxury items as in all the things that make building's pretty that is not clothing items the furniture and such.

District two-They make the stone that is used to make the buildings and all the weapons that was used before the capital was over thrown now they just work on putting up buildings

District three-electronics this is where all the computers come from and the program that is the games now with the avatars .

District four-fishing, this is were all the sea food comes from and these people are great swimmers.

District five-power they supply the ability to turn on your lights all the solar power comes from them. and the power that runs the trains.

District six-transportation all your cars and trains are built here and any other form of Transportation.

District seven-Lumber they cut down the tree that grows in the forest near by and send it to the capitol. They also grow trees to be cut down.

District eight-textiles They make all the cloths and they used to make the peacekeepers uniforms but no longer do so. They make the Fabrics for the costumes based on what each district wants.

District nine-grain They make all the corn and wheat and they also make all the bread that the people eat.
