Before Takuya had a chance to speak, Koichi dug his claws into Ichigo's scalp.
"Uncel Ichi! We're surrounded!"
"What do you mean we're surr-"
A blood-curdling howl cut him off, sending chills down the spines of the girls. It also accentuated Takuya's pain, and he dropped to the ground clutching his chest with both hands.
"Wh-what the hell was that?" Kaoru asked as Miyako dropped to her knees to hold her boyfriend close until he stopped hurting.
Rukia, however, paled when she looked straight up, seeing a canine-like Hollow with two heads coming down from a garganta in the sky. She tackled Ichigo and Ryu, and Kaoru grabbed Miyako, Takuya, and Kochi, the two girls clearing everyone out of the way of the beast. The wrestler's daughter had no doubt that Riku would pull Momoko away.
They cleared out just in time, as the Hollow landed right where Takuya had been, its eyes glowing a demonic red.
"Shit! Riku, stay with the girls! Koichi, Ryu, back me up!" Ichigo said, taking a badge out of his back pocket and pressing it against his chest.
"Gotcha!" Koichi said, shifting back to his true form as Rukia caught the orange-haired boy's body.
After a single puff of smoke cleared - quickly, too - it revealed a ruby-haired boy with a surfer's tan who had the ears and tail of a cat. He also wore a black samurai shihakushou, just like Ichigo now wore. Unlike Ichigo, however, Koichi also wore a white, sleeveless haori with the number '5' emblazoned on the back in kanji form with a black diamond around it. At his sides were a pair of katanas, one with a midnight blue hilt and sheath, the other a faded crimson. It was the blue-hilted one he drew first.
'I wish I wasn't in so much pain right now, or I'd help.' Takuya thought, unaware of the fact that there was a snake-like Hollow burrowing through the ground directly beneath him and Miyako.

Meanwhile, about ten blocks away, a man clad in white with black trim simply smiled at the ferocity that the caninie-Hollows were descending on their targets. Sosuke Aizen chukled as a column of dust rose up from the landing of the dual-headed leader of the pack.
"Let's see how those children handle this one." he said to nobody in particular.
