"We should be there soon." the tall, broad shouldered man said. The expedition party were flying high above a vast jungle in a large helicopter. The main reason this party was out here was the young woman on the right side of the helicopter. The 22 year old sat, her long legs crossed. She had on a grey and pink plaid pleated skirt and a white button up blouse with a pink cashmere sweater over top. She had on a pair of black lace up boots and knee high grey argyle socks.

"How soon?" her crisp Polish accent lingering in the air. She looked over at him and smiled. Katarina had a penchant for collecting exotic animals. Her father was extremely wealthy and she was his only child so he doted on her. The young woman had recently moved to America from Poland with her father as the business man expanded his corporation. She was awarded with a trip to Cental America to get her newest addition to her collection. She had just purchased a black panther that was a fine specimen. She sighed and within 30 minutes the helicopter landed. Katarina stood, smoothed her skirt and brushed her long black hair out of her ice blue eyes. The party left the helicopter and headed towards the place where her panther was being held. She could not wait to see the sleek, muscular cat.

Somehow he managed move from the icy south of the Inca and Patagonians and through the woodfilled north, meeting skraeling and Norsemen. He liked finding new people. Not so much to eat, as they usually were boney and called upon packs after they died. Much had changed over the past years since he crossed the Bering Land Bridge and took his time exploring this vast land. He knew somewhat how many masks, statues, and costumes were left behind in cultures he went through, and was admittedly disappointed that he didn't get that sort of fawning anymore. Maybe he just wasn't exotic enough anymore. They thought of him as a black panther, but never sure which. Cougar, leaopard, puma, cheetah? Probably not the last one. Maybe they just mistook him for the blackfurred kids he left throughout the Americas. Maybe they thought he was some large dog. Maybe they simply thought he was an odd looking race horse on steroids. None of it mattered. All he knew was he bred with most of them, then kept going back every fifty years to make yet another generation. But they were getting nowhere. They did well from when the yellow ones bred with the humans near the piles of stone. Maybe he should just sneak around and listen to what the humans were saying. That decided, headed to the area where the stranger of noises came from. No trees again. Really getting annoying how he had to stay only with the trees. He moved along, watching from a distance where a crate half his size was shuffling around by something about half the size of the box trying to get out.

Katarina approached the crate and turned to a smaller man and began to speak to him in Polish, before the man turned and spoke to the men next to the crate in Spanish. The men nodded and responded. "Yes, open it." she commanded. She could not wait to see her new pet. The men handed her a pamphlet before opening the crate, holding onto a leash that had the black cat's mouth in a muzzle. Katarina gasped and smiled. "He's beautiful!" she said, squatting next to the cat, running her manicured hand down his neck and back, scratching the big cat gently. "Hello love." she said. "You are stunning."

She looked at her translator. "He's tame, correct?" she asked. The men
spoke again before an affirmative was given. She smiled. "Wonderful." she stood up and patted the majestic creature on the head. "Gracias, senors." she said, taking the leash of her new pet. She started towards the patch of trees that hid the eavesdropping figure. She smiled. "Let's get back to the hotel." she said, turning to face away from the trees.

The Panther watched as the smaller one made to bolt for the trees. The girl didn't stand a chance as the large cat tour away, partially dragging the female before the collar leash either broke or slipped from her hands. It rushed in near him before noticing and cowering. He grunted, catching the muzzle over it's snout and tearing it off. The panther then looked over the words on a large tag attached to the muzzle. It gave him the impression that either the other panther was a female or had it's balls chopped off. Would have checked, though the smell suggested no balls. Which could be either. He looked around, then settled down again to listen, the leash fallen over his neck, broken
