“I wonder….is this right?”

Aziel said softly to himself as he paced the hall of his friend. He wasn’t too sure if he should confess his love after 5 years of being friends. What if she rejected him? What if she laughed? Or worse—said nothing at all?

“Shit kid…get your head in the game. This is no time to be second guessing myself. I have to seal the deal before those bastards catch wind of what I’m up to.”

Aziel being the youngest of two brothers was always the subject of their pranks. He didn’t trust them at all. You could even go as far as to say he hated them to a certain extent. If they knew he was trying to mack on their closest friend they would purposely do the same thing so he wouldn’t get any play. Well he wasn’t trying to just get into her pants…he was trying to develop a romantic relationship. Maybe one that would perhaps lead to marriage. He was a fairytale kind of guy. A daydreamer of sorts. Taking in a deep breath he stopped pacing. Standing before her door he prepared to knock. There was no point in delaying his plan any longer. He should just knock already. A half an hour was definitely enough time to make up his mind.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Right after he knocked his cell began to ring. No doubt it was his annoying brothers clocking his whereabouts as always. Normally he would give in and tell them his location. But at the moment he was busy, there was no need to get them riled up. Reaching into his pocket he quickly retrieved his cell. He would have to play it cool or they would suspect something. Looking at the caller ID, no doubt he was right.
“Yo.”

“Hey where you at? Ash and I are gunna go out drinking you in?”

“No, you know I don’t do alcohol.”

“Why so frank brother? Usually you’d beat around the bush before you
say no. What’re you up to?”

“Nothing you idiot. Maybe I’m just tired of being a push over.”

“Awe poor baby.”

Ash teased.

“Shut the hell up!”

Aziel retorted quickly.

“Well in any case we’ll call you later. Be good kid. We’re gunna be too fucked up to bail you outta any trouble.”

Hanging the phone up hastily he took in another deep breath. Dressed in a black tank, black jeans with rips in them, and a panda hat on his head Aziel hoped he looked aright. A few seconds later he snatched the hat off his head thinking of how stupid he looked. He didn’t look no stupider than his retarded brothers who decided to get drunk before the evening even started. For god’s sake who gets drunk at four in the afternoon? Obviously his brothers but…geez… They were such a hassle. But, back to the situation at hand he had to figure out just how he would confess his love when the other finally answered the door. Perhaps if he knocked again he would get a quicker response.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Click. Click. Click. Sliding her fingers across the keyboard, she tried to finish the thoughts running through her head before she lost them. Knocking at the door interrupts her thought process and she sighs to herself before deciding that she might as well take a break from what she was doing. Tucking the errant strands of auburn hair that hadn't been kind enough to behave and when she'd made up her hasty pony-tail behind her ears, she rises from her seat smoothing down the skirt worn over the pair of leggings. Considering somewhat of a fashion oddity, Jamie was never without the skirt added to her ensemble. It was just...safer that way for all involved HER especially.

Slowly, she makes her way to the door before peering out the peephole just to see who was almost banging on her door and finds her mouth curving into a wry smile. She should have known. For a moment, she was tempted to just stand there and see how long it would take him to knock again but something told her that it would be cruel and unusual so she finally unlocks the door and opens it. "You know," she says dryly, "You might not want to bang on someone's door like you're the police. Normally, that doesn't get a good response, Aziel." A quick, cursory glance of the others ensemble told the other that he'd dressed to impress...not that he needed to, he was always impressive. She leans against the door frame, her gray-blue eyes considering him thoughtfully. "So, what can I do for you?"

"Heh I didn't notice I was knocking so hard." he said with a bashful smile. He was so caught up in being annoyed and anxious he hadn't noticed. Looking her over as she questioned his visit he grinned. "Well I wanted to hang out. I haven't seen you in a coupla days now." he said as he shoved his hands into his pockets casually. "It's been a while since me and you have hung out anyway." with that said he looked her in the eyes instead of gazing down at the floor. He couldn't help when he did that. It was a bad habit he hoped to get over before he was thirty. Curse him for being such a wuss at times. With a soft sigh he ran slender fingers through golden hair before saying, "I've got a surprise for you okay. Are you dressed to go out? Or do you wanna change?" he asked. "I mean you look good in anything you put on but I know how particular you are when it comes to going outside." he said with a soft laugh.

Jamie raises an eyebrow. "You make me sound like I have a strict criteria for leaving the house," she comments wryly once he finishes babbling. The truth was that she did but he didn't need to know that just yet. "But I do have to admit that it has been some time since you and I got to do anything together so sure, I'm game. I have nothing better to do then hole myself up in my room writing useless drivel anyway." She can't help adding on, "Though it makes me wonder just what you have up your sleeve considering that you're nervous and rambling." She wasn't stupid, she'd known him long enough to sense when something was up but she was willing to go on faith and discover what he was up to.

"You do sometimes and you know it.." he joked. He knew she had to notice her own bad habit. Whenever they would go out she would take kind of forever in her room changing. And once she was she always proceeded to ask he and his brothers whether she looked alright or not. She always did. She was a bombshell...but she didn't know it, nor did she prefer to dress like it. He didn't mind though. Although he was the more gentler one out of his brothers, he was, if he had to say so himself, the most jealous and territorial of the two. But they didn't know that. He was too good at hiding his feelings.... Well not so much when it came to Jamie. "You'll find out sooner or later what I'm up to Jamie. As for now just trust that you'll have a great time with me." he said with a smile.

When she would slip out of her home and have locked the door he led our out of the building by hand. Unlocking the doors of his car with the push of a single button he signaled her to get in after he'd opened the door for her. Once that was over and done with he also slipped into the car revving it up rather quickly. He was anxious, anxious to get their day started. "So how've you been holdin' up with your writing lately?" he asked as he pulled out of the parking spot and started on his way down the street.

Jamie had to smile at his comment. "Perhaps I do but then you'll have to forgive a girl for the occasional desire to know that she looks good," she quips before murmuring, "You know I trust you and I am sure that I will have a good time." She slides into the car sensing that he was nervous and anxious and inwardly wondered what could be causing it though she decides not to ask. She kept her own secrets so he was allowed his. She slides her fingers across her skirt feeling her own nerves start up but she forces them back telling herself that she was silly for worrying about things. This wasn't a date. Regardless of the times she wished it was though that just brought more guilt considering how she felt about him and his brothers and the fact that she had yet to be honest with ANY of the three of them. 'You're just friends,' she thinks, 'It doesn't mean they have to know EVERYTHING about you.' She was just sure that the secret she kept would make the continuance of their friendship impossible.

His question helps her focus. "It's coming along slowly," she replies trying for a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes as she was starting to worry that this was a bad idea. However, she wanted to spend time with him so she was just going to have to deal with it. "The characters aren't behaving like I want them to but I'm sure given some time and revision and things will smooth themselves out. How are your brothers doing? Still being...well, themselves?" She tries to make the last two questions light, flippant. For some reason it bothered each of them when she asked about the others but considering that they were family members and her friends, she figured she had a right to ask in a friendly conversation about how they were.
