Daniel Darien, better known by his costume name Scarlet Shadow, was one of the many super powered individuals at work within Paragon City, known throughout the world as the city of heroes. The 24 year old had been at this since his late teens, and had been around the block a time or two. While he was certainly not as big a name as the Freedom Phalanx or others, he was not an unknown quality either and had defeated several villains. Years of training and fighting have given the fire using hero a toned, athletic physic. His eyes are a deep green, and his hair a blazing scarlet in color. His crime fight costume consisted of a skin hugging scarlet and black bodysuit made of a special fire proofed material that also offered moderate protection from the various weapons used by the super criminals of the city.
Scarlet Shadow gained his powers when the diabolical mages of the Circle of Thorns kidnapped him and several other would be victims in order to summon a fire demon. The ritual was botched when a costumed hero interrupted, and the powers of the demon flew into Daniel. Since then he has been using his powers to fight crime. Currently the young hero was on patrol, looking for signs of disturbances.
